Not that we necessarily have a say in this, but I thought I'd put the question out there: should there be a stat reset when 1.2 goes live? The possible reset options would be to reset favor and/or reset stats.
My thought is that we shouldn't do a stat reset in any form when 1.2 goes live. My reasoning is that the last stat reset occurred with 1.1 (if I remember right), but there were still quite a few stat reporting issues present that weren't identified immediately. I'd instead prefer to wait until after 1.2 goes live to give people a chance to report any new stat issues and then we can go live with a reset (stats only).

A: Epoch 3 will likely come with v1.2. Favor points will stay but the actual win/loss and other stats will be reset (still accessible as Epoch 2 though).

Uh, I really don't see what a favor point reset would achieve except frustrate a lot of people.
I play enough to have the favor items I use. I don't see the need to continually reset them though.
Resetting them wouldn't add anything to the game, to be honest I'd just wonder why the hell I had to keep earning my damn items, an unnecessary hurdle. I agree that perhaps they aren't even needed at all. Its a very shallow form of perpetuality in its current state.
I'd rather see all items unlocked to everyone, abolish favor points, keep the awards for that purpose.

Ok. Just to wrap up the favor reset discussion EVEN THOUGH SD SAID THERE WOULD NEVER BE ANOTHER FAVOR POINT RESET - most appear to be opposed to a reset, others wish there was some sort of change in the favor system to either make it a viable mechanic for people who have accumulated alot of favor, and others wish is was simply done away with.
There doesn't really appear to be a consensus regarding a stat reset from what I've read.
I don't see why the only form of favor reset has to be one that takes away your items.
Ideally wouldn't they add in new favor items to purchase as time goes on? A favor reset is necessary to make that purchasing process meaningful. If you don't want it to be meaningful then you just don't like the favor system, but that doesn't mean the favor system is a bad idea or should be removed.
In fact I think all games are going to have a favor item equivalent eventually. You have achievements in team fortress which grant powers, starcraft seems to require you to play to unlock units, LoL has a seperate player-based talent tree, etc.
Favor points are an early attempt at a relatively new concept, that being persistent benefit between games. Just because they're not perfect doesn't mean the concept is bad or should be scrapped. Really favor points should have been capped at about 3k from the start, if not lower.
Reset the points we all have but not the items. Do this as more favor items are intorduced and we have a meaningful reason for gaing favor again. Cap the possible points as Obscenitor said as well.
There won't be a favor point reset. But Epoch 3 will likely begin soon after v1.2.
No favor reset,yey. Lucky me. I'd have to play more and that would ruin my grades...
Stat reset when:
Major balance changes (includes new DGs, items)
Fix all stat issues (bugs, exploits, and stupid ranking/experience formulas)
Whatever you have to do to make Matchmaking (skirmish > pantheon) replace custom games as the primary playstyle
Favor reset when:
Prefferably never, but with drastic changes to favor items it could work (rebalance to make them all equally good, and let players choose 1 for free to start off with so that they aren't way behind as they try to earn the other ones they want)
And I'll reiterate that SD says there won't be a favor reset - but if they did, I really like your idea regarding the freebie. All they'd have to do is give everyone 2000 favor at the start and they could buy 1 item immediately which I wouldn't think would be that difficult to code.
Actually, I think stats should be reset and custom game stats should not count on overall ranking. Rankings should be pantheon only, or at least have a seperate custom games rank.
Nah, rankings should be Skirmish only since Pantheon restricts you to Light or Dark side. Too bad they're axing that.

Ive often thought why it does this. I obviously missed the thread about this during beta, if there was one, but why not be abel to fight for wither side......
It would cut down the amount of AI we see in the Panth atm....if your in panth and there are too many light players, you can just switch over to dark...once enough peeps are doing it the panth should balance out......

Ohhh...better yet..let the Panth decide if you are light or dark.
The panth sees 4 players in the queue 3 light 1 dark.....it waits for however long for other players to join (same lenght it would when it starts the 3v3 that would normally happen here) but instead of the 3 v 1 +AI game it would normally start, it switches one of the three light players to dark and starts a 2v2 with having given the players an appropriate splash message and allows the switched player to choose his light char.
the servers track who has been switched and try to balance that out as the Epoch progresses......
