Check out the Media section of the Elemental page . . . there's a cool new screenshot of magic research that even lets us see a few spells! I continue to drool over any new information that comes out about the magic system . . .
Looks cool
I want!
Looking mighty fine so far.
I am hoping that the spread of cards in the main window is a mechanic that allows you to choose one of several spells in a certain school to research.
But we will see...
Nice! I like how all the spells are on cards.
Nice indeed! Reminds me a little of the spell cards in the boardgame "Hero Quest" - a very fond memory!
I am really liking those icons and the wood interface.
I'm too busy drooling all over all the new pics to notice anything related to gameply right now.
That said, cards must stay. Hopefully, channeler creation will use cards too. Like Ravenloft CRPG.
Oh my, I'm in love with a bunch of pics! (yeah, sounds sad )
I like the MTG style of the spell cards, although I find colors a bit dull... and also thw wooden surface seems a bit empty. Nevertheless, I like it
Man seeing that I really want to get my hands on the the comprehensive tech tree. Hope the beta hits sooner rather then later!
Nice. Looks like we can send spells as gifts. I wonder though, is Fireball a spell that was gifted on the current turn, or does the section hold all the spells that have been gifted and the Fireball on top is just the most recent one?. I also wonder what the sacrifice section is for(maybe permenantly lose a spell for a small amount of essence?).
I also like that a multi-elemental spell combines effects of spells of different elements,in this case Earth Seed and Endless Spring for Life Seed(seed + water = growth).
Great find! Man... going to sleep, then wake up and read all the great info SD droped at pax today! Need BETA!
I wonder what's behind the Gifted and Sacrifice boxes.
Oh man in a few years elemental card game will become as popular as pokeman was 10 years ago.
Sacrifice? Like people?
It looks like in the top right the channeler might be earning 50 spell points a day. I wonder if that is similar to MoM where you divvy up the resources for mana and some for research.
A theory on the sacrifice might be if you desperately need to cast a spell you might be able to 'sacrifice' your current research to cast it.
Just some thoughts.

I really like this shot here
In this picture it looks as if the Sovereign is half way through his level (needs 20 more exp but seems to be halfway filled currently so my guess 40 exp for level 1 to level 2?). In the top left there is the number 15 under his portrait. This number seems to match the spell power icon next to the attack and defense icons in the bottom row. So I will guess this indicates mana?
Underneath the bottom center portrait there is an icon with a varied color theme, I will guess this at the number of troops / heroes in the players army. In the card photo where the spell research was shown that number was at 167.
Now the difference in the upper left portrait and the bottom center portrait seems to be that upper left is always your sovereign, whereas the bottom center is your target.
In the picture here
the bottom center icon is showing the progress of the city. Also the bar to the left shows information relevant to the bottom center target (in this case city info). In this case I am going to guess the sovereign is level 1 with 10 spellpower / mana and is halfway through his level. He has 113 creatures / heroes in an army somewhere unless that population (which is 112) counts instead. In that case it would make sense to say Sovereign + 112 population = 113 seen below the city icon bottom center. Some interesting questions I have are that there are no open plots to build on in this scene. So will a tech be required to expand further as this seems to be the first city and likely in the long run to be the most strong in the due course of time.
In this image above I find it interesting that the sovereign seems to be level 3. His attack is 9.5 and defense is 7 instead of 9 and 3. Spell power and hit points remain constant. The next question is that are the items comveying the extra stats or the levels? The bonuses increases seem paltry for both together.
The lighting is fantastic in this screen above, and a very nice POV shot. I will also surmise here that this guy is likely fallen whereas in the picture above we see Man.
Well the magic screen settles the "Which rune is air and which is earth?" question. Also, cards for the win!
I'm surprised more people haven't commented on the fact that we now have definitive proof that multiple discipline spells are planned! I'm still hoping for some way to modify the effectiveness of individual attributes of spells by varying mana spent, though.
Also, if you zoom up on the circular icon over the fireball card, you can see that it's a picture of a dragon on a mountain peak or ledge. Maybe the channeler was gifted the ability to cast fireball by a dragon? Before I noticed that I was thinking "gifted" might just mean that you can specialize or become particularly talented in casting certain spells.
That question was solved a looooong time ago, when Brad posted images of the Elemental shards. The name of each shard (air, earth, fire, water) was in the filename, so....
there was a question about that? The filenames of the images when Frogboy originally posted them was like "air crystal" and "earth crystal" or something like that. I never knew somebody didn't know.
If you look at this picture:
I think we can see some kind of mine, but I think we can also conclude that it's possible to build walls away from your city for extra protection.
Also, if you look at the picture with the city stats, it seems that a level 2 city (Hamlet) can occupy 12 tiles on the map and can grow to have 2000 citizens... This makes me wonder how big the cities can grow in a long game.
Looks like a campsite to me, with bedrolls, a fire, a crate and what looks like a pile of hay
So maybe we will be able to build and populate something like Hadrian's Wall?

Looks very smart. Reminds me of that card game Magic: The Gathering. I assume the 'sacrifice' button lets you scrap a spell for magic points or whatever. Not sure about the 'gifted' bit; does it mean the channeler is especially strong with this spell? I can't make out the round symbol on the fireball card.
Interesting bit below right- Warfare: unlock tech: Light Weaponry in three days.
Three days to work out slings and clubs? The Boy Scouts could arm themselves quicker!
Hah. So I stumbled into the full image that the little circular image above the "Gifted" fireball is taken from.

46 images, plenty of 'old' ones and quite a few new-to-me items. If the plan still includes something like the following, then it looks to me like they are working really hard to make the 'boring human-Fallen' thing a real joke. That bony-ass thing looks most definitely like a human modified in eutero for bad business and raised by orcs to help with the attitude.
