i hate how the media leans towards the demcratic party. fox news i truley think is the most fair and balanced i mean look at it they always have the republica and democrat battleing it out, but on cnn and msnbc its always two democrats agreeing and your not getting the other half of the story.
You should watch a variety of news outlets, if only just to separate the wheat from the chafe. Don't be like the some of the mindless zombies out there that never watch a certain news channel and continually criticize it. Give it a watch, no matter how partisan it is. Then you will be a truly informed citizen with an insight on why people are they way they are.
This is a simple analysis. See, I play a game now and then where I watch MSNBC and count how many seconds before LIberal bias. My record time was only 3 seconds. Thanks to Keith Olberman. Fox News is the only news channel I've seen that reports how Obama is failing the American public, rather than CNN, MSNBC, AP, and almost every major news source in the world who praise Obama for everything.
The funny part is to see liberals try to spin the lie that the media is unbiased.
While I do realize that even paranoid schizophrenics do have enemies, if *everyone* in the world seems to be against you it's far more likely that the problem exists with you and not the rest of the world.
EVERYONE is not, as is evidenced by the alternate media. But as liberals try to discount and discontinue that because it is a threat to the former monopoly they had. It is evident that they would like the alternates to go away, but it is also evident that the alternates are gaining strength at the expense of the traditional MSM.
And it is also evident that you love to spin. Yes, everyone that does not agree with you must be ignorant boobs that would best be hidden away like the crazy uncle in the closet.
Unfortunately, that is not happening. And the more the rest of the world discovers the lies the MSM perpetrates on them, they angrier they get.

I do pop over to JU every once in a great while if only for comic relief. Inevitably when I do your boring me too threads or blogs (whatever) suddenly spring to some semblance of life if only because finally you have someone that disagrees with you. But to actually address the point made in the OP the MSM does not have a liberal bias, it has a stupid bias. It's biased to the lowest common denominator of the American public which is stupidity.
It used to be that the major news outlets were real journalists. They verified their sources and in general simply reported the facts and let the reader or listener come to their own conclusions. The BBC and even to some limited extent the CBC still pretty much does that today but the American media has long since abandoned that methodology.
Instead the American media’s sense of fairness is now to simply have a representative from each side of any particular story and as long as each side gets relatively equal time to state their case then they’ve been “fair and balanced”.
In many cases that’s probably true, where there are two reasonable sides to a discussion and the chosen representatives are equally cogent then a certain amount of balance is inevitable. However the other aspect of journalism that has been lost is the idea that if you see someone walking down the street with a monkey taking a dump on their head you were allowed to point out the obvious and say “there’s a guy walking down the street with a monkey taking a dump on his head.”
This is exhibited when there really aren’t two reasonable sides to the conversation. When it’s clear to any reasonable person that one side is in fact the lunatic fringe and the other side are the 90% of people that aren’t crazy.
But even in this case the MSM will still get some representative from the lunatic fringe to sit opposite someone normal and give each their equal time to present their case and not once does the “journalist” question the obvious craziness spouted by the lunatic fringe.
This isn’t balanced it’s just stupid. When you give the crazy’s a stage and equal time and don’t bother to question their craziness then you’re conveying a sense of legitimacy that’s a lie.
So the MSM does not have a liberal bias, in fact they’re very careful to always have a republican to balance every democrat. But they’ll still put up birthers, global warming deniers, creationists, teabaggers and the like against anyone normal but fail to ask the obvious question of “you can’t be serious?”

Actually in point of fact I often disagree with ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN and even on occasion MSNBC but I do so because they can often show a conservative bias.
The thing is that you guys are so rabidly right wing that anyone to the left of Rush Limbaugh must be a liberal. This is demonstrated by the fact that most of the folks on JU that you consider liberal are nowhere near liberal, at best most are moderate conservatives, there's not a true liberal among them. But you wouldn't know the difference. This is why everything appears to you to have a liberal bias because you're so far right that there's nothing to the right of you.
I can tell I'm far closer to the center than you are simply because I can look at various news sources and see that there are not only reports that I consider to have a conservative bias but that there are also reports that are too liberal for even my taste. In your case you're so far off the edge there is simply *nothing* too far to the right of your position.

If you're talking about the supposed topic of this thread as to whether or not the MSM has a liberal bias then what I've stated is indeed my opinion and I obviously realize that it's not the only opinion available.
But when you quote me saying "you folks are" that's obviously in reference to how fixed the right wing opinion is on this particular website and I've had sufficient experience with it to have a reasonable basis for that opinion. You folks are indeed as rabidly right wing as any site I've ever encountered.
As far as my age if your profile is correct then I'm 4 years older than you. I am certainly capable of learning new things however at this stage in my life those new things will be things like new skills or new knowledge. You're most certainly correct that at my age my worldview is pretty well set and I'm not about to change that just as you aren't about to change your worldview, however unlike you I will admit to that.
If you want to talk about old adages then there are a number of witty and pithy ones I can think of that could apply to you however unlike you I don't feel any compelling need to insult you. I have seen a few of AJ's posts and replies but he's not really even a liberal. At best he's a blue dog democrat but more likely he's a moderate conservative. However compared to the typical JU denizen it's easy to see why you would believe him to be liberal. The sad part is that he actually seems to try to be reasonable but he may as well be tilting at windmills.
