I always found myself playing Cataract, it just ended being my favourite map. But I never understood why it was a 3v3 map, with 3 lanes, with only 2 spawns. And why do the portals make the creeps run the complete wrong ways running around half the map. I decided to change them, and add a 3rd spawn for the middle. I didn't like most of the action being on the edges of the map, and not so much around the most important flag.
My first attempt at a Demigod mod so I just did something simple. There wasn't really much of a place to put the portal, and I know it looks kinda meh, so if anyone has any suggestions of better places to put them and better routes for the creeps, please lemme know.
This is what it currently looks like:
Installation instructions:
Extract dgdata.zip in Demigod's top-folder to a temporary directory.
Rename dgdata.zip to dgdata.zip.old
Rename the temporary folder to dgdata.zip
Extract MAP06.zip into dgdata.zip\maps\
So you should have:
Demigod\dgdata.zip\lua\game.lua
Demigod\dgdata.zip\maps\MAP05\MAP05_scenario.lua
Demigod\dgdata.zip\maps\MAP06\MAP06_scenario.lua

Why not just make it a new map so it doesn't interfere with the currenct map.
Hmmm interesting. One thing you could with the lanes would be to cross the left lane to the right side of the map and vis versa. Just a thought...seems to linear as it is here....just my two cents.
Though in any regard i'll be sure to try this...if as Trigeminal asks "Is this a real working mod?"
Yeah it's a real working mod. Made it a seperate map as Xaviors said. It's now called Cataract Enhanced for now, updated first post with instructions.
Which lanes would they take Neilo? Any suggested places for the portals? Everything can be moved. I thought about crossing them, but I wouldn't be able to make it much different from how they were originally, I was just trying to go for balance.
What are the requirements to play this online? All players have to have the same map? Does this only work SP? TIA!
You should both have the map yeah, and I think you'll also need to use /allowmismatch for Impulse. I haven't actually tried it yet so I'm not totally sure.
Hmm...very intersting Mod you've got there. Cataract has been feeling somewhat...monotonous...lately, so this Mod will definitely be a nice "refresher" of sorts.
The new way you show the creep waves moving would actually be very helpful if Cataract was played on Fortress mode. The waves would actually attack the two forts that are placed along the sides of the map by the Gold Mine and Celerity flags, instead of it usually having to be the Demigods that knock them down.

This is a pretty decent mod even if its very simple
It does make Cataract games very fast and actually let me completely own with the rook by holding the middle flag and killing the creeps there.
... Pity the rooks structual transfer sorta falls through later on
