I want logical facts to be collected in this thread. the more the better. There are so many variables to consider in this game that almost any specific strategy is useless at some point.
These facts will seem obvious and simple but it is the only thing we can really be sure about and even these facts will be disputed.
I can not garantee that these statements are accurate but I have done my best. Please keep add stuff that you believe is correct in every situation and is very hard to dissmiss or argue against. Some logical statements can not be false for example, "tomorrow it will rain, or it won't". Argue against that if you can .
I will try to start with.
1. Flaglock are only useful if the flag would have been lost if not locked.
2. teleporting home to the citadel will give you full health just like taking a healthpotion probably would.
3. If team A is better than team B at killing reinforcements then team A would benefit more than B if both teams got more and better reinforcements.
4. As the game progress gold is easier to obtain and it becomes more and more expensive to buy better gear but flaglocks always cost the same and does the same.
5. Sedna benefit less from bloodsoaked wand then another classes do because she already have the healing ability. So for her it makes less of a differance.
6. Armor increase in value when total health is increased.
7. It is cheaper to increase the stats that you are lacking than what you already have alot of but it will be equally powerful. for example if you have a 6000 hp oak you should defenetly get speed instead of another 500 hp.
8. Having a healthpot is helpful even if you never use it. It will let you play more agressively and can be sold if never used. Even if healthpot is not worth using it might be worth having because it is clearly better to use a pot than to die. That assuming you would not have survived without the pot and that you survived with the pot.
9. if killing reiforcements for xp is good for your team it is equally good when the opponent team fails to do just that.
10. having 1 out of the 3 middle flags in the beginning on cataract is not devestating for the war score. keeping one flag only is easy to do even if you are pwned in combat. The hp bonus from the flag is only useful if you engage in combat or take alot of damage. Thus the middle flag is better for the team that tries to avoid combat than for the team that are looking for a combat.
11. the more beating you can take the longer you can deal damage thus increasing the value of damage output.
12. if you have far more flags then the opposing team, and all you do is 3v3 combat all the time, they won't have time to regain the flags thus combat (if it is even) is more valuble for the team that has more flags, assuming you can occupy them enough to not be able to take flags.
13. Locking the middle flag is more worth if you have a slow powerful demigod because then you can stay in a creep lane and own that flag too. If you are a fast character that is less powerful it is more worth locking a lane constantly running in to the middle and grabbing that flag and then run back and get the creeps anyway.
I think i've gone cross-eyed.
81. Never harrass Sedna with snipe or fireball (yes, that happens).
82. Never buy artifacts before giants.
83. Sleeping on a ceiling is not comfortable, because your blanket will fall down.
84. For Sedna almost always mana pot > hp pot.
85. Never go AA'ing UB with Reg (yes, that happens too).
86. Team Work is not over-powered.87. Have an idea of what you're going to buy before you get to the Citadel/Item Store/Artifact shop.88. Learn the common abreviations, they save time on typing.89. Keep your game roughly 50% zoomed out, to provide situational awareness.90. Only select 'Random' when you're compontent at all Demgiods.91. Always be prepared to run.92. After you've lost a game, wait 60 minutes before posting on the forums.93. Respect your Team Mates and your Opponents.94. Cancel your porn downloads before loading Demigod.
Again a failure to pay attention to the exceptions...artifacts can lead to easily never REACHING giants...
"Jesus Lugh, I've never seen a game ended at Archers before"
Doing other peer to peer stuff while gaming on the internet is the highest level of epic fail I can think of...
In light of my edit the correct statment is:
32. Don't attack towers before level 5 unless you REALLY know what you are doing.
If the all the Towers are still standing at level 7, you're doing something wrong in my opinion. At Level 5, you should at least be working on them.
Such usually happens when you are fed well. And if you are fed well, that means the other team failed and you can do anything
Lugh why are you being an ass?
This is ofcourse logical facts in my opinion. In your OPINION they are wrong however the goal with the thread is to collect logical facts to the best of our ability and it seems I am not the only one intrested in this. Even if this is not logical facts (call it whatever you want) it can be helpful or fun. See the potential instead of trolling.
It makes me very happy to see that we have 94 "logical facts" already and I love the reading
95. Usable items can be used more often on Cataract than on maps without a cooldown flag. This does affect the balance of items.
96. Low simspeed does not have the same symptoms as high ping or unstable connections.
97. If you are a tanking demigod, you should try and take the heat off your more squishy friend.
98. You should learn to kite and dance and what is exposure.
99. The total number of games a player has been in outweighs his win/loss ratio as a means of measure for how good that player is. You will find that most of the players who have crappy win ratios but have played a lot of games are actually quite good. Remeber, it's a team based game. You can be the ultimate pro. If your team sucks, you will lose.
100. If you have the choice between farming creeps and capping a flag, go for the flag.
101. If you decide to leave a lane, cap the flag....just to be safe.
102. If you host a "Pro only" game, noobs will join. If you host a "noob only" game, pros will join.
103. The noob/pro definitions are relative. When you are hosting a noob/pro only game, try to define what you mean by noob/pro. Like, for example "EU 3v3 experienced players (50+ games)".
104. When trying to host "pro" matches, remember fact nr 99 before kicking someone from the lobby because of their stats.
105. Most experienced players are actually quite nice fellows. If you are a beginner, try and listen when someone wants to give you advice.
106. Premades are not the devil incarnate. Except when they enter a "no premade game".
107. If you play with someone with which you have already played a few matches before, that does not make you "premade scum".
108. There is a difference between being a noob and being a begginer. One is the kind of person you are, the other is how good you are at the game. If you feed opponents, and someone on your team says "lol, stop feeding, try retreating early next time" and you do so, it means that you are a begginer that is trying to better himself. If you, however, say "fuck off, i knw wat im doin, im ultimate l33t pr0", then you are a noob.
109. If you are retreating from someone and have below 800 health, it's wise to shield yourself or drink a health potion since the enemy regulus is probably already charging the snipe.
110. It's better to send creeps/minions to do minesweeping for you, than to do it yourself.
111. If you are health stacking and you have more than 5500 it will be better AND cheaper to buy armor instead of more health (but don't over-do it).
112. Burning all your mana while trying to kill a fleeing enemy will leave you vurnerable.
113. Unless you have a genius masterplan to win a fight you should always retreat when:
114. If you have a Rook ally, you should hide behind him , if you can, when you AA. Players tend to prefer to target rook even though it might not be the best decision. Plus you will be more difficult to target if the enemy can't click on you.
115. never get involved in a land war in Asia
116. never hit your health pot until you're just about to die or fall so low on health a snipe will kill you - neither the AI nor decent players will chase you into towers unless they think they can kill you in a few more swings
Fixed. It's not that it can't imply A, it's that we just don't know from the IF statement alone.
117. Just because a team works well as a team may just mean they work well as a team. Not that they are premade
118. QoT needs a buff
119. You are a noob if you use the term 'l33t'
120. Remember to check that the tower strength setting before you charge after that retreating Oak
not logical facts... just somebody`s advices.. think there just too much flood.
121. This thread is dumb
122. No matter how usefull a thread might be, someone will still decide to inform the world about his personal opinion.
If you think it's dumb, then don't post in it.
123. Being wrong is not the same as being dumb. One can be corrected the other cannot.
124. The internets are serious business.
TRIPPLE SMITE!!
As I have said before. No matter if this should be called logical facts or not this is still a thread that some people take seriously.
Perhaps the trolls who have visited this thread will add some serious "logical facts" to this thread. We all look forward to reading them as we expect them to be far superior to our so called "logical facts".
My intention with this thread was that we should collect logical statements that are hard to prove wrong. Obviosly the thread became something else but I like the 124 suggestions made so far. It is intresting to learn from others and in some cases just know what others believe to be true.
Trolls does ofcourse not need to learn anything. They already know everything and they are always best. I was also like that when I was 14 years old.
How old are you now?
15?
Triage for the logical facts of logic:*All my opinion, of course - and I really like the flavor of the thread, there are just a few things that need clearing up* "1. Flaglock are only useful if the flag would have been lost if not locked." There are a few flags that should be locked no matter where your opponents are, as a strategic measure. Fortitude and Enemy Gold on Cataract should be locked down. Late game, enemy portal flags should be locked down. "2. teleporting home to the citadel will give you full health just like taking a healthpotion probably would." Porting home is a last resort. You should save ports for positioning and ganks in most cases, because RTB = loss of XP and map presence which usually outweighs the regen benefits. RTB for gear and upgrades every 3k gold or so, otherwise stay on the front lines as much as possible "10. having 1 out of the 3 middle flags in the beginning on cataract is not devestating for the war score. keeping one flag only is easy to do even if you are pwned in combat. The hp bonus from the flag is only useful if you engage in combat or take alot of damage. Thus the middle flag is better for the team that tries to avoid combat than for the team that are looking for a combat."If we are talking Cataract then you want to hold the Fortitude flag either as a stepping stone to the enemy Gold Mine (if Dark) or to defend your own (if Light). The buff is the best on the map but it's location that makes the flag vital. The Experience flag presents no advantages until midgame when you can use it to pull enemy grunts or you are portganking a fleeing enemy on the inner elbow. More on this here "18. At the beginning of the game the most important "neutral" flags to get and keep are the +gold, +experience and +health flags (an IM not so HO in that order)"Again, on Cataract, the most important neutral flags are whatever stand between you and the enemy gold mine/portal and between the enemy and your gold mine/portal. Swinging or locking mid early is acceptable, but focusing Experience Flag early to the exclusion of a real lane is a bad idea. "32. Never attack the towers before you are level 8 unless you are regulus with range upgrade" and "32. Don't attack towers before level 5 unless you REALLY know what you are doing."Assuming that everyone knows what they are doing - You shouldn't solo melee an enemy tower as an Assassin if: 1. Your opponents control the lane flag2. Enemy DGs are inlane or incoming3. You don't have grunts to tank for you4. You don't have a quick way to regen your health That said, you should be pressuring lane towers any time you can - I see people gank or push their enemies out of the lane and then saunter back to base to refuel - you should be attacking the tower and creating an experience gap instead. Generals can solo and destroy an enemy tower much faster than Regulus at level 2. (they won't usually reach the tower without hitting level 2, otw I'd say level 1 ^^) Again though, you want your grunts to tank for you, you don't want to try it if enemy DGs are anywhere nearby, and you need monks to make it work.
"47. Don't get the experience upgrade."
Level 1 is worth it. No one has run the figures beyond that, but I'd like to see the numbers if someone is feeling mathy.
"48. Always get Currency.
74. Currency 2 is only worth it if there are 4 players on the team or more. Currency 3 is only worth it if there are already 40 minutes in game, and no team shows signs of winning."
Currency 2 and 3 are never, ever worth it, regardless of the number of players or length of game. The numbers did get crunched on this one and the difference in gold is absolutely paltry. Link To add a couple of my own:124. Items stack across teammates very well. Universal Gadget, Blood Soaked Wand, Warlord's Punisher, and Heaven's Wrath are crazy when everyone on the team has them. 125. It's common wisdom that a player should use trump cards like heals or shields only as a last resort. Ex 1: UB and Oak mirror match UB and Oak. When UB 1 gets down to 15% health Oak 1 shields him and they retreat. Common wisdom doesn't always apply. In some cases you can use defensive cards early in a fight to eliminate the necessity of retreat entirely. It's riskier than saving for a rainy day, but it can work well on an agressive team. Ex 2: Oak 2 shields UB 2 at 75% health, Oak 2 and UB 2 are each at 75% health when UB 1 is shielded at 15% and forced to retreat or die. 126. Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line
In this situation oak have to shield not when % of life have a dog but when enemy dog spits on mate. And better to have an advantage at start. Oak might send his priest which deal 200 damage on a dog then attack. or just buy a big pot and use it while shielded.
So
1001. Be flexible at strategy
While i will not be arguing on this, because mathematically you are right, it doesn't all come down to numbers. I follow your tactic very often. Get currency 1 and nothing more. However, there are certain situations where gold 2 and even gold 3 are usefull. I usually play an assassin oak build. He doesn't require lots of gold but can certainly earn lots because of massive creep farming abilities (surge of faith) and because i usually get lots of assists. Once i get Nimoths chest, hauberk of life and either velmish faceguard or the other one at 1500 (and lvl4 priests, eventually), i am confident that i can stay on a lane without too much fuss.
In this situation, i will be earning lots of gold (assuming someone else bought curr 1) but no ACTUAL need to spend it (except for the ocasional flaglock and teleport). If i am in a 4v4 or 5v5 i will get currency 2 and in some ocasions even 3 if i have the money. Why, you ask? Mathematically, i am an idiot.......however..... It is not about how much time it takes for ME, personally, to get back the gold from the extra gold tick. When i buy currency 2, i am not subtracting from some grand team gold bag. I am subtracting for MY gold, while the remainder of the team is benefiting from increased gold count with no detriment to them. This will allow players that NEED the gold and can't affort to buy higher levels of currency to get artifacts.
I will give you an example that i played yesterday. The tactic i presented was used by my team, (i only got curr 1 and 2, others got 3). It was a 4v4 on zikurat. Initially they were kind of kicking our asses. But then currency 3 REALLY kicked in. In no time at all, i had mage slayer + ashkandor (and later, near the end, girlde of giants). The enemy team simply could not fathom how my oak could have as much damage output as if he were in Last Stand 2. He was attacking about 2.3 times per second, leeching life If i activated surge of faith 3 (which was constant, since i had plenty of mana) and he ripped through ganks of enemies. Same goes for all my allies that quickly made up for paying for currency by farming and killing dgs.
So, what i am trying to say is that yes, you are generally right, Ke5trel. However, as with any rule, there are some exceptions.
