This is the story of the last of the Babylon 5 mod-efforts. It's goal, to prevent another failure, by creating a place to solve our problems collaboratively. Its a port of call, home away from home, for modelers, texturers, programmers and sound engineers.

Sometimes the in-game mod loader can be a bit funky so if you can't see the mods you've installed or something isn't working then enabling the mods via the 'EnabledMods.txt' file in your 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder where you installed the mods to is the other alternative. It should look like this to work:

Do you guys plan to change the phase jump concept so that it looks like the Jump Points from B5......that is to say...will you have a colored vortex that opens up and that a ships appears to go through to jump to another planet? Will the effect during transit be changed to look like subspace or whatever the term from B5 was ( it escapes me now...maybe third space anyway....)? Oh, and do you guys plan to try and maybe work in another race like the Drazi or Pakmara at some point?
I think this mod rocks with the plans for races now.......i'm just wondering what your thoughts are for some of the minor races are and what we might see from them. If you don't plan to add them as full fledged races you could simply make some of their ships and add them as some of the neutral forces that surround un-colonized planets. Personally, I would like to see some of the minor races added but, I understand that it is a tremendous amount of work and you have more to do than make mods and not get paid. I would like to say that no matter what you decide on the minor races you guys are doing a bang up job and it's hard for me to ask for more ( even though I did ). Thanks B5 mod team!
How the project coming along? Been looking forward to play it and watching B5 shows again
We have already discuss about it... it is not a priority but the B5 mod is a very long term project... there is two possible way... of we create a faction called "league" or we create a faction for each races... in the first case, the "league" will have too much possible ship to put them all in a single faction... in the second case, each individual races will not have enough models for fill all the needed function for a good gameplay...
The team have a lot of idea for the future but not all of them will be possible to implement due to game limitation... by example, recently, we have speak about using the IPX Icarus for seek artifact... will not be possible with sins since artifact are found via planet upgrade ( level 2 explore )...
This mod is now for sins only... but i see no reason who can stop the team to adapt it to other game who will appear in the future ( maybe a Sins II ) where more thing are possible... Remember that the B5 universe is a complex universe... what was see in the series is only the top part of the iceberg... Tobi try to remain canon to the serie for now... but once the work done, maybe we can move to semi-canon material, similar to what can be found in the Babylon 5 Wars books ( have almost all of them )... if it happen, the team will have work for several years
PS: not being fully affiliate with these mod, only a part time modeler, i cannot speak for Tobi... Tobi is the mod leader and only him decide what will be included and what are the possible project for the future...
Yep, I have the mogoose publishing ACTA Books ( Fleet list, rule book) so I too have enough ships and factions in hand to fill years to come
Don't like the mongoose book... they go to much aways from the canon thing... these from Agent's of Gaming are a collaboration with Warner Bros and a little more canon...
At the miniature level, mongoose have a high quality... what is usually expected from a English product !!! And since they have begin one year after Agents of gaming die ( in 2002 ), it is more easy to find the material like book...
Just curious, when you will begin balance the mod, so you plan to use data from the mongoose rules book ? it can ease a lot your job for a complex universe like these of B5 !!!
As a matter of fact I'm already basing most of my stats on the mongoose rulebook (well, I have made my rules to convert the stats from mongoose to sins, but this gives me some initial balance. The price and prodution time need to be sorted out later.)
I don't know what data have the mongoose rulebook... but if you wish, i can send you a sample of the individual fiche for a ship... some data like jump delay, turn speed, turn delay, accel/decel, pivot speed, rool speed, etc are very interesting... by example, EA ship are weak but maneuvrering and jump delay are some of the best...
Anyway, trying to follow a already tested set of stats is a good move... and will really help the balance process when you will add more ship or more races...
Now hat would be interesting! The mongoose data only covers more basic stuff, like speed (no accel/deccel), just turnrate in degrees per game turn and such, so I had to make my own algorithm to convert them to sins stats. Yours seem much more direct applicable.

At the moment, no. We have no team member at the moment who does the particles. (We should have one, but we are all busy right now )
All the weapons (except the beams, they should mostly be fine) and all the other effects should be modded to fit the B5 universe. But that will be a job for another day. Except if you want to take the responsibility

@ Tobi edited the -da and -cl slightly to give the Shadows a darker more sinister look ... just my preference if you want I can drop them in for you to have a look?

Yes, I made them a bit too dark ... to get a nice effect in colourful sky boxes ... there's a hint of star reflection on them and we can lighten the -cl if you think they're too dark:)

Looks great so far! I LOVE Babylon 5, just watched the entire 4th season this last weekend. I'll have to check it out when I can get Entrenchment.
@jjspqrI expect that we will sooner or later move on to diplomacy, so that will be required as well. Just that you know before buying entrenchment.
When Diplomacy comes out I will be buying both at once.
Usual Sins and Entrenchment are already having some benefice of Diplomacy... takea look at https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/374465 ... specialy about modding... before, it have remain around 60 slot for mesh on the 400 hardcode limit... they have double the limit, it mean a max of 460 mesh !!! Enough for all the B5 universe ( i hope )...
