This is the story of the last of the Babylon 5 mod-efforts. It's goal, to prevent another failure, by creating a place to solve our problems collaboratively. Its a port of call, home away from home, for modelers, texturers, programmers and sound engineers.

Release 0.54.1 Full Download for Rebellion 1.95+& Patch 0.54.2
NEW - Balvarin Carrier and Minor Factions fix!
Installation Guide:
Sometimes the in-game mod loader can be a bit funky so if you can't see the mods you've installed or something isn't working then enabling the mods via the 'EnabledMods.txt' file in your 'Mods-Rebellion v1.85' folder where you installed the mods to is the other alternative. It should look like this to work:
TXT2SinsArchiveVersion 194Version 0enabledModNameCount 2enabledModName "SotyrRemastered"enabledModName "SinsRemastered-v0.95b"

Sorry that life has gotten so crazy for you i hope it will start to calm down. Know that what you created is awesome and that for the many B5 fans we are incredibly grateful for everything you have done to make and keep the mod going.
Hael-sose
I am so glad to see that some one is going to be able to keep this going and seeing the work you did on the vorlons makes me excited to see what comes next. Thank you for what you are doing.
Darvroth
Congratulations on the twins that is very exciting! Enjoy them.
TobiWahn,Sorry too hear life of late has provided you with excess entropy. I don't have the time or technical chops to pick up the lead.On a side note since last we spoke I've become a grandfather to twin girls...
Congratulations!! Thats wonderful.
I think I'll be able to do that. And of course the premise will be honored.
Wonderful. I will provide you with a link to all data as soon as I uploaded it. I will include a runtime version of my FileMaker ModDB for SOASE, so you can make final adjustments and go from there. It is no longer useful for further development as it odes not support the latest SINS functions.
I can sympathize. Wish you all the strength you need.
Thanks. It isn't bad that I have almost no time for side projects, but I do miss late nights spending time with creating models. My girlfriend isn't very psyched about me spending time in front of my PC so that might be an hinderance
But the time I have I could then just do some EA model or such an no longer care about the rest.
Thanks a lot!!
That would make it less tedious and more fun to take on modelling and painting again
Waiting in anticipation on the link
Hey you crazy awesome modders. Getting back into sins after some time away and came to check on my favorite mod (the new screenshots are looking good). Is the rebellion mod link on the OP the latest version? If so, are the warlock or the primus on the mod yet? Cant wait to see what you guys have been up to
If you like deep strategy games I ask you to support

Love that idea and first demo
Any idea how soon a update will be released?
Updated version of the Vorlon carrier cruiser; was not too happy about the previous one. This version is more in line with the known Vorlon heavy cruiser from the series.
Blender render (but using the textures for ingame use) for the Vorlon heavy cruiser. Never was a fan of the existing one. Only changes:
1. contours now conform the series (b5tech.com)
2. made it more organic (all extensions now flow more naturally from the body)
3. moved the 2 tentacles from the cockpit to the sides; never made sense to me that tentacles would flow from the windows.
4. Need to add the logo's. I hate painting (everything is procedural now).
As soon as I've gotten the files, I'll be able to work on it. I've sent Tobiwan_Kenobi a gentle reminder
We're in contact and are going to share the files soon. Hope you can wait just a bit longer Meanwhile, do you have any suggestions for the Planetkiller abilities (apart from blowing up a planet) ?
Thanks, its been awesome thus far. Time is in short supply but if you have a particular task related to the tech trees or python scripts let me know.
I'll give it some thought and play with the scripts...if I come up with anything worth the time I'l ask for a place to upload or send.
Holy mother of god! I love those new models - and you put my work to shame
Files are underway so I'm looking forward to the next (first) version released NOT by me
Cheers and love to you all!
Just stumbled upon this mod
https://www.moddb.com/mods/sinsre
and started to adapt the SOTYR textures to this format. It makes quite a difference in graphics and has a few very convenient properties:
Cons:
We have to redo every single texture and some particle effects (for rotating or added meshes - we can finally - and have to - use gs_ship instead of gs_asteroid)
Still, very nice
"and started to adapt the SOTYR textures to this format." Says the man with no time... LOL.
Well sometimes I find some time (I also did a small HD textures mod for colony survival)
And it is really interesting. Not sure how far I will progress with it in the next couple of month but I will post it here as soon as most models dont look strange any more (the way they use the textures at the moment makes reusing old textures a bit of a problem, since you now have a separate AO channel, the Subsurface Channel is default white which means max SS on the ship as a whole, and they switched the bloom channel from Alpha to blue for whatever reason)
How are you? Hope everything is fine over there and COVID does not impact you too much.
@hael-sose - did you finally download the files? Or did it not work the second time around as well? I tested it using a vpn and it worked fine for me.
The usual grind, getting used to being a grandfather. So far COVID has been an annoyance. Dawn has known people to get really sick and die of it but it's mostly passed us by so far. I find time is present and yet scarce. Rarely do I get to spend it as I'd like yet its spent.
Glad to hear you are well. Yes, it is an annoyance but also changed things for me quite a bit. Working homeoffice now mostly though will be bat at the office come October. But I will continue to work from home one or two days a week which is really nice.
How is it being a grandfather? I'm not even a father so I cannot imagine
Still new to it, they are 10 months old and I only get to see them for a couple days once a month. Still its fun and challenging.
Sounds nice!
Glad to hear you're all doing well, unharmed by Corona. Let's keep it that way
Yes I got everything. I didn't realize so much was lost with the crash you've had a while ago. And soooo many subfolders
I've looked into this also. It's more useful for the Narn (which I've started) than the Vorlons (which I've completed) because it has the greatest effect on metallic ships.
Here's an ingame remastered G'Karith. I still have to find the right values for the channels to achieve the most optimal effect, so it may improve.
Nice work. Glad to hear you are ok and that you finally got everything. Yes, gigabytes of data So many years. More than 11 to be exact.
As for sinsre - I'm also still playing with the values. And I have started to use the AO channel on some of them but it seems to troduce mixed results as details are lost due to compression when storing AO only in the blue channel of the normal map compared to baking it directly into the texture. On the other hand in the future that might enable selective applying of the AO (no AO should be visible in direct sunlight when the light hits the inner edge of a surface).
Narn and Centauri have a nice effect from sinsre - and you can use a little Subsurface Scattering for Minbari and Vorlons - at least I like it there
Vorlons also have quite a metallic effect in the original series (I've started to watch it again) so I added it in and also toned the NormalMapping down quite a bit on many models.
After I've adapted all textures in some form to the new format I'll post it here. Perhaps you want to use some of it as reference.
Oh - and I find it quite interesting that the light channel now has overexposure. It keeps the original colour till about 50% grey, then overexposes it until it all gets white. Very nice.
