I had a lot of house work to do this weekend, so gaming was a bit lighter than usual. I also did a clean install of Windows 7, so I spent the rest of the weekend reinstalling my games, which by the way is so much easier installing via Impulse than looking for a bunch of CD’s.
Anyways, I played a bit of Battlefield 1943 this weekend. Can’t wait for the PC version.
What did you play?
Mostly Guild Wars. I still needed to finish the Nightfall campaign, and my brother needed to get to the victory area to craft some armor, so we teamed up to obliterate the boss after our first embarrassing attempt at dance-fighting it to death.
I also played some Persona 3, and started a new game of Cave Story. Gonna try for the secret ending this time.
Mostly Lords of the Realm II (with the Siege Pack expansion). However, I also played a bit of Sword of the Stars Ultimate Edition (plus the ANY expansion) along with a smidge of Shogun Total War.
I played Rome: Total War and its expansion Barbarian Invasion. Fun game, but I hate the pointless, identical factions in BI.
I played Gal Civ II TA, and Fallout III. (I love sniper rifles )
I played colonization. A real classic.
I have no internet till Saturday so last weekend I played The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, Arma 2, Resistance 2 and Wipeout HD.
Out of curiosity, how is Arma 2 coming along? I ran in to some bug issues with the demo, but it looks like several patches have since been released.
It runs a lot better on my PC now. I don't encounter any bugs personally but they have improved the AI considerably. They stopped dead units telling other AI where you were and reduced their hearing so now the AI are not hyper aware of everything.
A friend and I have been playing the campaign co-op and it's been a lot of fun.
Nice. That whole 'corpses passing on info' thing was one of my pet peeves, once I found out that's how they always knew where I was. Glad to hear that's been taken care of.
I ran in to a few weird glitches during the demo play, but from what I've been reading, a lot of that has been cleaned up. I may have to check this one out now.
Are the updates available to the demo also?
I re-downloaded and installed the demo, and it is patched up to 1.2 anyway. I have had a MUCH better experience this time around. Also, the ability to tone down the post processing effects is greatly appreciated (I found the bloom effects were WAY overdone without them being turned town). It's still got a wicked learning curve, but that's okay. And I'm actually enjoying it a lot more this time around. I need to spend more time with it before deciding, but I'm about a thousand times more likely to buy than I was previously.
Played some Trackmania United, and Third Age: Total War (Lord of the Rings mod for Medieval II)
Hmm the ArmA2Demo.exe properties say I have Product version 1.02 and file version 1.2.0.58127. I wonder if that's the latest version.
Played the Aion closed beta
Messed about with proffessions and classes. Decided i'm definately getting it on release.
I believe there is a 1.3 patch out, but it only just came out sometime last week.
