Beta 2 of WindowBlinds has been released. This build focuses on UI enhancements.
The previous UI is still the default from Impulse. You can access the new (amazing!) UI from your start menu, or from the button in the old UI (screenshot)
Post anything that looks odd. Make sure to give us your WB system information from the WB app, your OS (including 32 or 64 bit), and if it's hard to explain (or even if it isn't) a screenshot.
This is perfectly normal.
To make things more transparent use the transparency tab.
But what if I don't want the skin transparent? Then the Aero Peek feature doesn't work?
Don't mean to be a pain in the ass here...but should I bother installing the latest version of this...as far as hoping my problem is fixed? My inquiry seems to be getting looked over here. And I don't see anything in the "history" in Impulse that would suggest it has been fixed...but then again these things don't seem to get updated as they once did.
Win 7 has stopped skinning the window widgets. I no longer have borders, menu bars, or close/open icons surrounding program windows. Program Titles and icons still remain visible and all functions including close/open commands and resize arrow are still working. Impulse maintains its windowing. This happened on my desktop just recently (would installing the beta of Spiriform's Specce make any difference?). No change in skin or unloading/reloading/rebooting will alleviate the effect. Have to revert to Aero to use the operating system.

bump!
Update to Windows 7, you may (well we may ...) have a better chance
I believe the issue with the toolbar icons UI should be resolved in the next build. It was using the animation selection for the toolbar icons sometimes.
Ok cool! Thanks Neil!
I just noticed neither WB 7.00.006 from 11/17/2009, neither WB 7.00.009 from 11/18/2009 permit anymore to set Backgrounds Opacity levels (under XP SP3)
You have to enable emulation on the XP settings tab
Thanks Neil
and about Explorer Backgrounds:
1° where are the default ones stored ?2° how to link a particular background texture to a specific WB (and keep it in memory) as it was previously the case with WB6 ?Thanks
Hi Neil,
I'm a happy camper! The taskbar transparency is working great now! Thought you might like to hear something positive. WB 7 is really looking great.
The default explorer backgrounds are stored in the same place they have always been (Vista images\textures folder off skins folder)
Explorer background settings are global in WB7 unless the skin itself has a background defined.
I read through all the pages of this and didnt see anything, so I thought I would post here. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and have a problem with transparency on explorer backgrounds. All is working fine, but when I go to re-name a file or folder, the transparency goes away. As soon as I close the window and re-open it, it is ok again. Happens on any skin I have tried, so I don't think it is any specific skin.
