Beta 2 of WindowBlinds has been released. This build focuses on UI enhancements.
The previous UI is still the default from Impulse. You can access the new (amazing!) UI from your start menu, or from the button in the old UI (screenshot)
Post anything that looks odd. Make sure to give us your WB system information from the WB app, your OS (including 32 or 64 bit), and if it's hard to explain (or even if it isn't) a screenshot.
OS is Windows 7 RC-1 64 bit
I just updated to the latest Beta WB 7 aand found it causes a problem in OUTLOOK 2007. In OUTLOOK 2007 if you try to open and start a new message OUTLOOK 2007 quits working, I know this the problem as I repeated it three times by installing the current update and then re-installing a backuped image after the failure of OUTLOOK 2007 in trying to open and send a new message, I was lucky to have a image from 2 days ago
Since my last WB-update to v.220, i have the same problem, but not only with the maximized firefox.
All my folders are not maximized correctly with all my WB-skins.
Depending on the selected skin, the size of the gaps is a little bit smaller or bigger.
maximized firefox:
maximized folder:
If i choose the orig. Aero-skin in WB7, then "maximized" works correctly.
Since the update to Build 220 any MS Office 2007 application (Outlook, Word, Excel) that I open while it is skinned crashes. Tried multiple skins with the same results, as soon as I remove the skinning everything is fine.

I am having the same problem. Most skins will not load. Two that will are Abase and Plywood. Some that will not load are 100, 7Plus, Adamant, Adrenaline, Aero Executive, Aero Frost, and the list goes on. I have uninstalled Beta 2 and reinstalled WB6 and there is no problem. This problem seems to have started since the Microsoft monthly updates!!

I haven't read all of the comments in this thread so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not so I apologize before hand if it has but it's late and I want to ask about it while I'm thinking of it without staying up for another 2 hours to read everything .
With WB6 if I left it set to sort by install date then any skins I had installed since last rebuilding the list would show up at the very end of the list. I liked this because alot of times I will download skins and not use them right away and with them at the end of the list it was an easy way to see which ones I had not used yet. Once they get mixed into the list of over 500 skins it gets alot harder to recall which ones they were without having to sift through the entire list.
In WB7 though it seems as though it rebuilds the list everytime you open the new interface which automatically puts newly installed skins into the mix rather than at the end of the list. Just wondering if this is going to be this way permanently.
This problem is nothing to do with Microsoft monthly updates.
The issue is the most recent beta build which you probably installed around Wednesday.
WB7 shows the skins in alphabetical order which is the most logical thing to do (and was the WB6 default anyway)
As I previously noted my problem with OUTLOOK 2007, I see it also has effected others using various Office 2007 programs when can we expect a fix to this problem?
Also when will the final version be released?
Right. Was just curious if the option would be coming back. Thanks for the reply Neil.
I installed update and excluded outlook from being skinned, I no longer get a failure when I try to create a new message. The new peoblem is the new message opens maximized and I cannot resize it as there is no title bar with with caption buttons as you can see in screen shot

OldMsgt I know that you're obviously looking for a fix but until that does come along here's a suggestion. It looks like you can see through where the titlebar should be. I know when I had a similar problem with teamviewer the buttons were still there you just couldnt see them. For now you could always try opening another app behind it so you can see where the buttons are on that and then just click the corresponding position on the titlebar. I know not a fix but just a temporary suggestion.
The maximized window issue should be resolved in the next build too.
I have the same problem with impulse and I alway have it has existed in the last 2 or 3 updates
Hi Ever since the last update, all Office 2007 programs crash upon opening. I has something to do woth skinning the Ribbon. I am obliged to set in the per pixel settings to exclude the title bar. This goes for the SnagIt program I won here. The Editor has the same ribbon. But in setting like that it has it's consequences also, the close, minimize button array on the top right is no longer present as well as some blank spots.
I saw another citizen had the same problem with Outlook but it's much larger than that. Is there a patch or workaround for this problem? Will this be fixed in the NEAR future?

Thanks for the reply Neil
I have a problem with the explorer backgrounds.
If i´m using one of these new sliders, explorer backgrounds don´t changed.
I must select "none", then exp.backgrounds works correct.
Any timline for the next beta yet ? Unskinned Office 2007 looks ugly...
I agree 100% I've chosen not to use windows blinds as I prefer my peograms as hey should be!
There should be an update either today or friday.
Complete with some new skins and hopefully the bugs reported here fixed.
Sounds good and Thanx for your reply, Neil.
Quoting Neil Banfield, reply 94There should be an update either today or friday.Complete with some new skins and hopefully the bugs reported here fixed.
Thank you for the reply Neil. I look forward with impatience. I know you want to solve this as much as we do
Buggy how?
After the last update of WB, this trouble existing since a long while is still there !!!
Changing Explorer background window opacity doesn't work, still no possibility of saving the settings, and there's no more the old UI to correct it !!!
I'm really really angry about it (seems like Stardock doesn't read previous comments and feedback !!!!)
In the previous build I had a problem with the Explorer bg opacity not working but in the build that came out today it is back to working normal for me on Vista 32 bit.
I am curious though if the ability to save new preset colorings and settings for skins is going to be possible in WB7. I had alot of these saved in WB6 and they do not show up now in WB7. I have alot of times where I have recolored/darkened/changed settings for a skin and saved it as a preset because that way when I download a new blind and want to try it but then go back to my previous blind and settings it was easy to do.
still having problems where windows explorer keeps crashing on me...help me please?
