Once again I spent a great amount of time playing Dawn of Discovery. I finished the campaign, which was quite enjoyable, and now I have moved on to the scenarios. These are challenging, and take some time to complete, but it’s well worth the time spent.
I had to squeeze in some time with East India Company. This is a complex and challenging game, but very rewarding once you get the hang of it. The visuals are simply beautiful, and puts you right into the ship as if you are a real captain yourself.
So that was most of my gaming weekend. What did you play?
Aion had a closed beta weekend (unfortunately they only have 3-day windows every couple weeks), so that's what I was playing.
I tried Dawn of Discovery, but just couldn't get into it very much. I like games with a mix of building and combat - Dawn of Discovery is great on the building, but not on the combat. I've played Empire: Total War for many many hours because it was a great mix of the two, but alas.
Embarassingly enough...I purchased and played HOMM: V for the very first time. What a great game! I really hope Elemental's tactical battles are half as good as that. I also played me some Runes of Magic and Plants vs. Zombies
Demigod. And pre-ordered Elemental.
I am busy studying for boards, but after that I hope to purchase and play The Witcher.
Demigod and Diablo 2
Demigod
Need For Speed: Undercover
SpaceForce: Rogue Universe
The Wonderful End of the World
And an oldie but goodie, ST Voyager: Elite Force
Had a lot of fun
Picked up Dawn of War 2 due to the 50% sale Relic offered. I always thought the skirmish and multiplayer modes were complete rubbish (and still think so), but for $25 I didn't mind picking it up and playing the campaign coop with a friend. Lot of fun, definitely worth the $25 for that.
Sins of a Solar Empire and a little Red Faction Guerrilla
Just out of curiousity, were you playing Diablo 2 with the new mod that allows for all screen resolutions to be used? If you have, I'd be curious to see how it actually played.
I played a little CoD4, BF 1943 and Railroad Tycoon 3.
I'm really looking forward to Modern Warfare 2.
WarCraft III The Frozen Throne with my nephew. It's amazing how much replayvalue that game have! The custom games are games in themselves!
I challenge you in WarCraft II if you're not too good (I got trouble with multitasking and handling lots of things at once).
Bloodbowl.
Nothing like dropping a foul on the blood bowl pitch.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky. I bought it a while back and finally had the time to finish it. Bloody great game. I have Shadows of Chernobyl too and maybe I'm going to play it again with some mods because it's just that damn good.
Also a bit of World Racing 2. I thoroughly enjoyed World Racing 1 but am not having so much fun with part 2, I'm now just playing through the content just to see it all, then it's a quick uninstall.
Nope, playing 800x600 stretched to 1920x1200.
Demigod, SoaSE:E Mad Scientist mod, GalCiv2: DA, Homeworld 2 Complex mod, CoD:WaW, Tribes:V, Tribes 2 (Still better than any CoD yet), Soldat, C&C:TS, WiC, and HoMM3.
What can I say? I'm a busy gamer.
Do you have a link to that by any chance?
I know there was an Open GL wrapper for it that prettied it up a little bit, but playing in higher resolution might get me to come back to it.
I should also add that I have been playing Battlefield 1943. I really hope the PC version makes it out in the next couple of months.
Played Dawn of War 2 (with the new 1.5 patch) and the Demigod demo. I was much impressed by the demo and will get the retail game as soon as patch 1.2 comes out.
Re-installed Civ 4 and expansions to my new 1 TB hard drive, so I had to spend a few hours taking that for a spin or two.
Ran around in City of Heroes for a few hours getting my 46 level Kinetics / Ice Blast Defender to 50 during their double XP weekend (which is a joke since the AE facilities have turned the game into mega-farms for Power Levelling.)
Started taking notes on Jack Campbell's Lost Fleet series for a possible computer / gameboard adaptation.
All in all, a fun and productive weekend...
and I downloaded the Demigod demo to give it a try later this week.
Mostly I've been playing around with MinecraftBut I also got started on Ico.
The Guild, Front Office Football and Europa Universalis III.
First, I finished a game of Europa Universalis III that took me about a month to play. Then it was on to Twilight of the Arnor, Sins of a Solar Empire and Advanced Tactics WWII
I half expected zoomba to post something like "I played elemental" as a tease.
But seriously, I played Fat Princess.
the goal is to feed your princess so much cake the other people have a hard time breaking into your castle to carry her off. (you need like 4 people to carry a very fat princess)
Aion mostly, with about 30 minutes of play time (each) for a bunch of strat games (Empire Earth, DoW2, CoH). I keep looking at Dawn of Discovery and East India Company and am trying to figure out which one is better for me. I don't know enough about either to make an informed choice (I would only get one as they appear to have similar themes).
I've been mostly playing Oblivion with the Oscuro mod... Makes for a much more challenging game, just finished Kvatch at level 23 and I still had trouble... Maybe I'm just an awfull gamer
Casual games. And i'm really looking forward to more casual games on Impulse.
