Well, I will post my UB build. After playing with lots of builds I find this one to be my personal favorite. I will add that I’ve mainly used this build in prison.
First, the skills.
1 – Spit
2 – Ooze
3 – Save
4 – Spit & Ooze
5 – Grasp
6 – Save
7 – Spit & Ooze
8 – Stats
9 – Save
10 – Spit & Ooze
11-14 (Stats and Post Mortem line, you get post mortem when the grunts are bought by the other team).
15 – Spit (yeah, spit all the way, damage all the way).
16-19 (Stats and Post Mortem line).
20 – Whatever (I only made this far once with this build, I bought Inner Beast, because more damage is cool, so I have heard).
Favor: BotF
Items
Banded Armor + Scalemail (at the start, yeah, spit and no helm and no mana favor, yeah, I know, shhhhhh, I know).
The other 3 item slots: Unbreakable, Nimoth, Vlemish (the order you buy them depends on what you need at the time).
Items you have to know how to use to be a tank and smash little puppets: Sigil of Vitality, Small potions of life, Teleport Scrolls, Universal Gadgets. (actually you have to know how to use, and how powerful these items are, when playing any DG).
Well, you might say this build will lack mana items, you are right and wrong. This build is not spit harassment, you have to be patient and only use spit and grasp wisely, otherwise this build won’t work and you will say it sucks, well, this build doesn’t suck, in matter of fact I believe it’s the best UB build, at least for prison, at least when you playing with a Sedna on your team. But I believe it’s the best overall UB build, for my play stile at least.
By lvl.15 you will have almost 6000 HP, and 50% D.A. Pretty solid eh? Plus Sigil, Plus small potions, Plus Gadged, Plus Spit & Ooze & Graps, you are the ultimate DPS’er/Tanker. On my book this is just ownage.
Why the build is like it is (answering questions my mind just created):
Why Hybrid? Because you out damage anything another UB may cause to you, so, you out damage anything in 1x1 (let’s not talk about facing minions, that means in buying counter items that I won’t talk about, and counter skills, that I won’t cover either).
Why Post Mortem at lvl.11+? Well, first, you can buy the first point at lvl.8 or 9, but that’s unusual. Likely grunts will hit the table 11+ and post mortem will make killing them that much easier. Not only that, if your opponent wants to fight against you on the lane,… well, you will just deal a shit load more damage, it’s awesome, it’s that cool, its ownage x2.
Why stats? Well, more HP, more Armor, more att. Speed, more regens, more damage. What other skill gives you all that at the same time? So, go all the way.
You can buy stats earlier, and delay Spit or Ooze, your choice. Well, adapting to your opponent is the ultimate strategy, so you should adapt whenever you have to.
The MAIN thing about this build is to know how to “spend” your mana, if you can’t manage mana, this build will blow, pick another build and don’t trash my build because you can’t manage mana.
I’m open for discussion.
I don’t know if some1 posted a build like this one b4, if it did, my bad. I don’t read guides in a long time.
Ps: People say UB is a Noob DG… well, a Noob with this build will sux so much. This is an expert build, yeah I know, elitist, blah blah blah, get over it.
Ps.2: If you have the money to buy items outside of the ones I listed, you are doing it wrong (or very good, because you killed every1 30x). You don’t need/want items other than the ones listed, everything else goes to the citadel, or to your team8s, you will most likely get the kills, share the gold brother, it’s a multiplayer game that you want to win, right?
Ps.3: Buy Flag Locks when needed.
Ps.4: Buy counters items as needed.
Ps.5: On the next post, my m8 and his Sedna build that keeps me alive. Enjoy.
Final Ps: If you lose with this build (mine and my m8s), and you didn’t faced a minion build, well, practice some more.
What's with BotS vs BotF ? ... I just tried that, and the lane staying power with a general as back up is really enormous.
I would say BotS as a second best strategy with this build, its a good favor, and I played with it a few times, I would rather use BotF.
I tried this build a few times and first results are very positive, I really enjoy playing that way
Nevertheless, two things:
- Don't you upgrade your gears for mid/late game? As soon as I can afford it, I buy Slayer's Wraps / Narmoth's Ring instead of Banded Armor / Scalemail.
- In a global way, I'm VERY mitiged about Stats. Let me explain:
1) Armor, HPS & MPS are totally insignificant.
2) HP and Mana boosts are middle (bad?) (lets take your own example: lvl3 stats = +345 HP & +315 Mana, which is, for levels above 10, nearly nothing).
3) What is left? 6% Attack speed (DPS as you said) and + 18 damage (which is not +7,2% DPS, because if you got attack gears, like Slayer's Wrap or Mage Slayer, you wouldn't get +7,2 DPS benefits "for these items")
Overall, my point is, after tests on several DG, taking Stats points never show me any significant differences. The only moment I personnaly take stats now is when I have nothing better to take, at the moment or in the future.
For these reasons & for the fact I think a little more speed could be great (because I'm playing mostly 3v3), I'll slightly modify the build for level 8 Diseased Claws, and level 11, 12, 13 Inner beast, which open a VERY strong lvl 15 abity as it has alreay being said.
Anyway, thanks for inspiration!
If he isnt buying gear midgame is probably because the cit upgrades are far more valuable to the team than a 2x AA crit, life steal and +25 hp regen and (im not sure stats on narmoth) -100hp and -scalemail armor. If you are tanking that really doesnt seem worth it in a 2v2 situation where you have a sedna healing you, and as everyone stacks HP/Armor your crits are mitgated and aa in general is usually less effective than skills for dmg anyways.
Keep in mind this build and sedna's are part of thier 2v2 strategy aswell. Controlling creeps isnt as easy with only two guys so getting creeps and currency are often key to victory over more expenive yet slightly more effective gear.
If there was any gear i'd really say i'd buy late game over cit upgrades would be groffling. Usually thats not even necessary though.
And he suggest taking stats over diseased claws most likly because of the added damage absorbtion & recovery. Personally i only put one point into diseased claws if its needed, its a situational thing for me. And inner beast i'd just say the movement speed % isnt worth it to me and the attack % isnt to important since AA is already not aswell suited for tearing through hp/armor stackers or in otherwords everyone who plays DG.
You mind reader . You are good, I envy you. I can't put in better words, thats it !
As for this:
The rest of your post has been discussed already, but this I want to point out. 1 point into Post Mortem at lvl.11 is critical. If u want to open acclimation start at lvl.12, wont make a dif IB that late in the game at lvl.11 or 12, but Post Mortem will make a HUGE dif. imho.
Thx for the positive notes on this build guys, glad its something you like to play with.
I'm in the mood to talk a little more about numbers bc of the stats discussion. I said this:
Lets focus on 3 things
345 HP
315 Mana
1 per second
Well, as u guys know, this build lacks mana support, and 315 isnt something bad, and +1 per second neither.
But the main thing: 345 HP... its HUGE, why? u may ask, well, bc 345 is HUGE per se AND bc Idols heals based on % total HP, grunts as well and it will give 175 more HP with Sigil. So, in a fight with a General with lvl.4 Idol, that procs twice u will have 345 from the stats, and 22% + 22% (m'I right on the %? long time not playing) that means 151 HP, plus a sigil 50% 151 HP, so, without lvl.3 stats u not gain, in a good fight a total of 345+151+151 (not to mention grunts) = 647 HP. I would say that 647 HP is HUGE, wouldn't you? Not to mention the HP regen of the, lets say, 20 seconds fight. 12 HP. As I said, I don't wanna dye
Yeah, I confess I forgot one little thing while posting: your strategy was specially made for 2v2 with Sedna. I must admit I have little xp on 2v2 match and therefore little xp on prison.
So I'll try to develop my "best own build" on 3v3 cataract, hehe, trying some stuff. You must be right for Post Mortem, I'll do that and take it when grunts are out.
Thanks!
your example seems very situationnal: if monks, if grunts, if Sigil...
I've opened a new topic on Stats, I wonder how people will react.

Yes and no. Remember once again, 2v2, UB + Sedna, since I'm the UB I always have a sigil on my inventory, so its not situational, and the grunts I didn't put in the "equation" if u look close, bc that is in fact situational.
Since u said u normally play 3x3 Cataract I imagine u always have a general on your team, and he will have Idols more than not, I would dare to say, and sigil is a great consumable, especially for UB, so both statements r not that situational, imo.
1 question:
does the damage from ooze (140dps) triggers lifesteal ??
I dont think so
No it doesn't. Good golly, that would be imba as hell.
One question about Post Mortem Kokujin:
I don't think Ooze infect creeps with Post Mortem, so I'm not sure to see the point in taking Post Mortem (which is very good against creeps) when you have lvl 4 Ooze which is even better against creeps?
Oh, but Ooze infect the creeps with Post Mortem, thats why its that cool, and its a little more direct damage to the enemy, even outside the grunts wave.
Are you sure??
So... when you fight an ennemy DG in a mess of 10 ennemies creep, and those get killed by Ooze, Post Mortem do 1500 damages to ennemy DG?! This is awesome...
I thought Ooze didn't "spread" Post Mortem because Post Mortem goes like: "When UB attacks, ..."
Yeah, thats what I'm saying. Test it out, buy the skill and walk with ooze on and look the numbers fly by. The same thing is true with BotS, the best way to get mana back is just to walk by the creeps with ooze on and the blade on, the creeps will take longer to die and thus gives u more mana.
I've just tested it out, but you're wrong, this is not working. I've walked around a friend with Ooze and Post Mortem active. He never got infected by Post Mortem until I AA him...
This sounded too good to be true
However, I guess it may work with BotS cause in the description text, it goes: "...of your damage..."
BotS definitely works with ooze. It is pretty darn awesome.
A few of my opinions on the BotS vs BotF discussion: The blood is really the early game item, and the BotS is the late game item. You will need to play more cautiously early on, obviously, without the BotS (Something I sometimes forget hehe, if I switched recently). Late game, however, the Blade gives you so much mana, you can chain use very mana instensive abilities, and always be ready for another grasp.
I don't know how many times I hear a teammate say "I can't grasp, oom"... after telling me how they didn't need more mana. Bah. Grasp man, Grasp! Strongest snare in the game vs standing there looking like an idiot... again.
So yeah, back to early vs late games, this is very map dependant. Some maps simply afford for longer matchs, and allow for less early game kills. Zikkurat for instance lets you be a bit more defensive than Prison, and so BotS is what I pick on the former, and Blood is what I get on the latter. Team can also have an effect. If you MUST be the ninja killer on your team, maybe paired with Queen and Sedna, then I think once again focus on the offensive power of the Blade.\

Hmmm, sorry than my bad.
In balanced matchups not having the 800 early health advantage is usually a risk I'm not willing to take, but I have tested BotS on maps like Levi, where it's simply an endless mana supply. I do suggest to tone that favor down because it's just way to good on some dg builds.
