I'm now working on the ninth chapter.
Use lots of technical terms. It sounds professional that way.
The Undying.
Watch Eureka on Hulu... Surprisingly, it is somewhat realistic and gives some ideas as far as the things you can put in a book...
The Mari Formata
The truth is, I think, that this whole timeline is not making a lot of sense to anyone. So I'm going to cut to the chase and record the early years of the Sins universe proper. Below is a partial map of the galaxy in 2395, for clarity, and below that is the first chapter in the Mari Formata saga.

hey! i liked the timeline! i was following pretty well i think.
just so i understand, though. there are two different ways of interstellar travel, regular ftl (like star wars) and phase space (obviously, sins)? how come they couldnt re-develop the first way.
and why does earth have to dissapear? why does it always have to dissapear?
Only part of hyperspace travel technology was rediscovered. There are still many missing pieces. What has been compiled led to the first discovery of phase space and travel using it.
Earth never disappeared, it was just forgotten as the developed world it once was. The planet surface has been ravaged by nucleostatic warfare, and while the geography remains largely status quo, most of the ecosphere and the edifices of civilisation were razed. In the modern Sins universe, Evertha is just some petty terran planet with no real significance. Alux is presently considered to be the homeworld of the human race while Helms Kol is the de facto capital of the Trade Order.
It's status as the social, economic, cultural and political center of the galaxy was simply too great for warring factions to ever ignore it.
i lost interest after "Obama".
What's that supposed to mean? I don't know what could be less obnoxious to Americans than naming an entire planet after the historically first African-American US President.
I too was annoyed, but then the market crash hit it. I laughed at that. Don't you love irony? (even if intentional...)
You do actually find that annoying? I don't understand. The way I see it, it's highly appropriate for a whole planet to be named after the historical figure.
The Obama market crash is not significant in that it bears allusions to the real world market crash.
Too much Obama hype... Sure, I'm glad we can have a black president, but I'd prefer we had one that belongs in America and not Canada...
Helms Kol
Just as Alux is an utmostly sacred world, Helms Kol is the utmostly industrialised planet in the entire Trade Order. Helms Kol's geologically varied surface is entirely covered in a hybrid industrial/urban artificial living space and has been for as long as history has been dated. Though the galaxy is abundant with humanity's stubborn factionalism, the fact that the overlordly Prime Coordinator estabilished his office beneath these reddish dusty skies makes Helms Kol the de facto capital of the Trade Order. Many leaders of Order states have to answer to this planet some time in their lives, directly or indirectly, and as such the collective polity of the planet is massive. The mobilisation of anti-Vasari defensive forces, the exile of the Tembda Jans populace, the TEC's very inception - all these things had something, however small the involvement, to do with the political machinations of Helms Kol.
I've been working on a non-canonical galactic map of the Trade Order, before the arrival of the Advent and Vasari. These are two pictures of the first development stages, showing the Core Worlds. What do you think?

looks good. so earth is somewhere to the galactic NE?
I made it quite clear in an earlier post that Evertha is Earth renamed. It's north-east of Helms Kol and south-west of Argonevv on the map.
ah ok. i knew that it was renamed, but did not recall the new name. now i remember. evertha, evertha
I'm going to put the Mari Formata on hold for a while, and announce that I am working on the first chapter of the history of the Unity a.k.a. the Psion offshoot of humanity.
that was awesome. keep it up, the undying
One of the problems now is that Psion history is pretty dry for the next series of centuries, up until their exile. Maybe readers could propose events to be put into the second chapter.
Well, I'm working on homework, but in an hour or so, I'll get to work finding something for you to put in here...
approximately when does sins take place in your timeline?
I don't plan this stuff out, so at the moment there is no set date for the beginning of SoaSE. I'll decide on one when I get there.
The second chapter in the Mari Formata.
At this rate, it is likely to begin in the 36th Century, with the simultaneous arrival of the Vasari and Advent.
