Okay, so I just won a single player game (conquest) on hard mode, and Erebus (my enemy) had 5 less points than me at the end. We had fairly similar stats as far as flag caps, damage and whatnot, yet I had 35! structures destroyed (0 for the AI on my team).
Why is it that I get no credit for the work to take out that many structures, leading to our victory?
Really? Does favor matter this much? When someone gets 43 million favor is GPG gonna release the new Demigods?

Favor definitely means more than win/loss ratio. You can buy things with favor. You can't do jack with your number of wins besides coming to the forums and bragging about how awesome your premade is.
I realize that there are a limited number of favor items right now and some people stick with the same ones, but some like experimenting. This means they will need lots of favor. What do you think they will go for? Winning the game, or destroying as many buildings and creeps as possible to get the most favor?
I realize my subject is not the best (in light of information I learned along the way) but yea currently it's the only stat that actually means anything practical.
I would actually like to expand on the idea and add that destroying structures should give EXP and Gold equal to the number of grunts it would take to kill in an equal amount of time.
The fundamental problem with your arguement is that favor is just that, a perk. I've never met one person in my life that would make this statemetn you made below.
Who? Who are these people? Is it you? Are you alot of people? You can get all the favor items in a jokingly short amount of time. People don't win for "stats" or "ratios", or to even come to the forum and "brag about how awesome our premade is". People try to win, because IT IS THE ONLY OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME.
I can't speak for you, but I personally wouldn't even care if favor items weren't in the game at all.
No it doesn't. If I play with the 3 worst players in the world and get 170 points, while joe bob plays the 3 best players and gets 90 points yet he played a stellar game, obviously shows a broken MEANINGLESS system to begin with.
*gulps* Sometimes...I...I play for favor. But I definetely agree, it's about WINNING, or atleast having FUN! I'd rather lose a game while having fun along the way. To me that's better than winning when someone concedes in the first 5 mins and you get 170 pts.
Winning is not the only objective, or even the prime objective. For most people, the prime objective is to have fun, regardless of winning or losing. There are other objectives however, such as the actual rewards you get when you win, which contribute to how much fun you have. Because you see, rewards = fun is a psychological truism, whereas win = fun is not. I've won many games that weren't fun at all, whereas rewards always makes it worthwhile.
In Demigod, the reward is favor points. The fact that you can buy items with favor is actually irrelevant. The main purpose of favor is that it is supposed to be an indication of how well you did as an individual player. This is currently measured in "most X" or "most Y", and it is broken because destroying 30 buildings or killing 500 creeps does not necessarily make you an effective player, yet the rewards system thinks it does.
Even if we buy your flawed argument and accept that winning is the only thing that matters, then favor points actually distract people from that by encouraging them to do retarded things that do not necessarily contribute to winning.

Okay, so for the sake of argument let's agree that the only goal is WINNING! Why does the game reward OTHER things so heavily to the extent that the person who WINS the game can end up with less favor than the loser?
My point is this, you don't step into the game lobby going, Man, I sure hope I get 170 favor this game! No, you want to win a really close fight, thats the ideal situation.
Game objectives != personal objectives for playing a game. There is only one primary goal in the game of demigod that you try to reach every game, to win. You cannot argue this fact.
No it's not a truism. Do you feel great getting that participant award often buddy? Rewards that are meaningless, are exactly that. Meaningless.
In demigod, the reward is FUN. See how logical it sounds now? I never picked up a game to take it home and be rewarded with more options! No, I buy games to enjoy them. Meaningless favor points do not make the game any way remotely more "enjoyable" lmao.

Yes, they do. To an ignorant player that would somehow feel favor points are the most important thing. I see this fairly often, and it's idiotic at best that they would hurt their chances of winning for meaningless titles and numbers. Luckily I don't play with people with such a naive view of the game, and I havn't even checked my favor points in the last 20 games. Never once has somone on my team waited to get the last hit on purpose risking the enemy getting away.
Because that player most likely was not contributing at a high level to his team in all honesty. But I'm not here to defend the way favor points are distributed, just that this whole conversation is very very silly.

You've already stated that you feel Favor Items are useless, so why would you even come into a thread discussing favor?
I'll have to assume that since favor items are meaningless to you, you play every game without them, right?
My angle was the simple disagreeance that people actually play this game for favor items.
not really, like I said before you can get all the favor you need in a day or two. You can't hop to another conclusion without consideration of the fact I would be at a significant disadvantage not to use one. That doesn't change the relative ease of access and arbitrary claims going on in this thread.
If I could, I would trade all the favor points I currently own for +1 damage to my next auto-attack.
Of course, currently once you've made your purchases you're set. People that play casually online will not have massive amounts of favor in a couple days.
I'd say if you get 150 favor in a game you're doing well. A person starting out online is not likely going to see that too often. Let's say an average of 20 minute games.
Furious Blade is what, 1750 pts? That would take 11 completed games at 150 favor pts per game and 3.6 hours for that 1 Favor Item.
I don't play often at all, and favor is NEVER a problem for me.
