So I just had this idea and I want to share it with all of you, and invite you all to be a part of my little game I'm starting. I am someone in the Sins universe, either TEC, Advent, or Vasari, and you ask me any questions whatsoever to find out who I am, when I am, and where I am. Let me explain more.
By who I am I mean you have to be able to tell me what race I am, what age I am (30-40 year old male would be a perfectly acceptable answer if it was the right answer, which it isnt. the point is it doesnt have to be that specific.), and, as I just mentioned, my sex.
By when I am I mean you have to be able to tell me the general status of the war during my time. Before the war, before entrenchment, after the war, when the Advent arrive, all these are as specific as you have to be. I wouldn't get more detailed because I probably wouldn't be able to answer you.
By where I am, I mean something a little more tricky than the first two. You'll have to tell me if I'm on a planet belonging to my own race, if that planet is being sieged, whether I'm being held hostage on an enemy planet, whether I'm on an enemy planet because I betrayed my own side, etc etc etc. Where I am pretty much means my whole background.
For example (and this is NOT the answer): You;d have to tell me that I am Harris Markson, middle-aged, TEC male, who was captured by the Vasari and is being held on one of their great starbases. I am put through daily painful interrogation techniques, and am on the verge of telling the Vasari all of the intricate details of the TEC's new superweapon, which will be able to blow up a planet. (something along the lines of that)
Now, how to figure me out:
You can ask me any kind of question at all. You could even ask me what my name is and my age, although I would not answer you with what you're looking for. I will provide an answer for any question no matter how dumb or irrevelant it is. I could even have a guy who thinks he's being funny ask me how I jack off, and I'll try to provide a clue to my identity in it. But I'll still answer it. It is up to all of you together, the Sins community, to try and reveal my identity. This is not supposed to be easy. My advice, start off asking general questions and make your way deeper as my answers provide insight into my life.
Another disclaimer: I am not really talking about myself. None of this is true. I am not actually living in the Sins universe. I wanted to make that perfectly clear.

ALSO: all characters that are created in this Mind Game will be used in Sinners (if you haven't seen it, you should check it out on the SOASE forums), and all "mini-stories" (i.e. Judgement and the History of the Spirits so far) will be incorporated into the story as well. So ask a lot of questions!

Trader Prisoners of War? Well, when we collect some, we will search them for a psionic resonance. if we find one, we will procure the necessary treatments and inject them. if we don't we will kill it and find another. The Unity is not wasteful, and the universe belongs only to the Unity. The High One is in agreement with us on this. All the Silent Ones must be purged.

Time spins mystery and accomplishment. For now, the Search continues. Time is meaningless. We will be victorious when we are victorious. We have been waiting for one thousand years, we can wait a while longer. For now, I would concentrate on the time needed to reach our enemies, not defeat them.

i have heard whispers and murmurs through the unity of a third species. what do you know about them?
Yes, the Atlantean fleet destroyed strange ships some time back. They appeared through a wormhole, but the phase lane connecting the two wormholes was damaged, and it will be a long time before the phase lane repairs itself. so for now, the wormhole is nothing. I cannot say what those creatures were, for they were obviously not of the Trade Order, but we have no animosity towards them, if they do not block our Reemergence.
That knowledge is for I to know and thee to but wonder. Note I never said we are higher than the Coalesci, but instead more powerful. Our power is quite greater than the sum of its parts, for there be an item of great power and antiquity within our possession. The only thing that I will say unto thee is this: We are those who keep the shadows at bay. We are those who hold back the monsters of the mind. We are the Protectors of all that be. I... I am become death, destroyer of worlds.
Now, thee hath failed to answer mine question. Art thou affiliated, or otherwise related to any one ship among the fleets of the Unity?
[dammit, CI, i was fishing for that story. i want to know how they closed the wormhole. back to the character. it takes place less than 5 years before the advent invasion. that's as localized sa we can get i think. i also think the place is the middle of space. they are flying towards trader space, and may be in mostly unknown parts]

what do you think about the new high coalescent?
There are no beings stronger in psionic power than the Coalesci. That is why they are Coalesci. And I will not answer to you, you who pretends to hold such power but cannot even read my mind.

I am understandably uncomfortable with the idea of a male Coalescence. He is, of course, the beginning of a new era. If males can become that powerful....when who knows how the Advent will hold together? The Unity might very well shatter apart. But I do not really believe such a thing will happen. The High Coalescence is all-powerful, the closest to the High One. Together they will lead our race to galactic victory.
Once again, a subtley of speech escapes notice. Thus my distaste for these... trader filth devices that allow communication at range without access to the mind. I said The Coalescence, as in a single individual. The power of many will always overcome the power of one. Which is why our ships are crewed by thousands, rather than by one. Need I burn it onto a pennant? Or need we loose the demons of the mind upon yea? And know that power... True Power... comes in many forms. Be it power of the mind, as is the most common, be it power of knowledge, or be it one of its other innumerable forms, power is the lifeblood of of all races.

in my search i have little time to concentrate on other matters. has there been any new news from trader space?
There is no avoidance on my part. If you are as powerful as you believe you are, my mind should be an open book. it already is to any of the Unity, which means you are not of the Unity. Which means you are a Silent One. Which means you have no psionic power. Which means you are dead to us.
Trader space? Were you not listening before? That is not a trait we value highly in the Unity, if you ever wish to advance yourself. I think like all the Unity thinks of the High Coalescence, he is the strongest Advent alive, the strongest Advent in the history of our advanced species, almost as strong as the High One, though that is something quite different.
Barzul! Be yea blind as well as ignorant? I speak to yea through a trader device across the stars. The distance be too great for even I to traverse psionically. And so I require a verbal answer.

I am a Psiwarrior of the First Battalion. My childhood was like any other of the Unity's childhoods....days spent experimenting with neurochemicals and special treatments, watching solemly as those were experimented poorly burned themselves to ash, to stay forever in the Pit of Eternal Flames. I grew closer to my fellow Advents and my face grew more lined as I absorbed the memories of our race. Most like how your childhood was, young Advent.
I'm afraid thou hath the phrase wrong. 'Tis "A creature, when backed into a corner, will fight all the harder, for it sees no escape". The last ditch stand, when it drops all pretense and simply does its best to harm that which forces it into said corner.
Now, I only wished to know where mine comunication device had ended up, but since thou seems to take such offense at the question, I shall ask another. Where I am, news arrives slowly. What are the recent events of the great war? Have the Traders begun to hold back their alien enemies?
I will repeat myself, for you obviously did not catch it the first time. We have not reached Trader space. Therefore, there is no war. There is nothing for the Traders to hold back. The Reemergence has not begun yet. And I have heard the phrase both ways.
