So I just had this idea and I want to share it with all of you, and invite you all to be a part of my little game I'm starting. I am someone in the Sins universe, either TEC, Advent, or Vasari, and you ask me any questions whatsoever to find out who I am, when I am, and where I am. Let me explain more.
By who I am I mean you have to be able to tell me what race I am, what age I am (30-40 year old male would be a perfectly acceptable answer if it was the right answer, which it isnt. the point is it doesnt have to be that specific.), and, as I just mentioned, my sex.
By when I am I mean you have to be able to tell me the general status of the war during my time. Before the war, before entrenchment, after the war, when the Advent arrive, all these are as specific as you have to be. I wouldn't get more detailed because I probably wouldn't be able to answer you.
By where I am, I mean something a little more tricky than the first two. You'll have to tell me if I'm on a planet belonging to my own race, if that planet is being sieged, whether I'm being held hostage on an enemy planet, whether I'm on an enemy planet because I betrayed my own side, etc etc etc. Where I am pretty much means my whole background.
For example (and this is NOT the answer): You;d have to tell me that I am Harris Markson, middle-aged, TEC male, who was captured by the Vasari and is being held on one of their great starbases. I am put through daily painful interrogation techniques, and am on the verge of telling the Vasari all of the intricate details of the TEC's new superweapon, which will be able to blow up a planet. (something along the lines of that)
Now, how to figure me out:
You can ask me any kind of question at all. You could even ask me what my name is and my age, although I would not answer you with what you're looking for. I will provide an answer for any question no matter how dumb or irrevelant it is. I could even have a guy who thinks he's being funny ask me how I jack off, and I'll try to provide a clue to my identity in it. But I'll still answer it. It is up to all of you together, the Sins community, to try and reveal my identity. This is not supposed to be easy. My advice, start off asking general questions and make your way deeper as my answers provide insight into my life.
Another disclaimer: I am not really talking about myself. None of this is true. I am not actually living in the Sins universe. I wanted to make that perfectly clear.
Now, ask your questions!
ALSO: all characters that are created in this Mind Game will be used in Sinners (if you haven't seen it, you should check it out on the SOASE forums), and all "mini-stories" (i.e. Judgement and the History of the Spirits so far) will be incorporated into the story as well. So ask a lot of questions!

So its a bit of a combo of 20 Q and an interview... strange but cool...
So I guess I'll go first...
1. What does "2+2" equal?
2. Is it the Unity or Advent
3. On a scale of 1-10 (ten being highest) how much do you like the Vasari?
4. What happened on Kron?
5. How many people are under your command?
Oh my, this is a great many questions to be asking someone like me, and so strange....Well, let me see. To my last recognition, mathematics at that small of a level have been abolished for many, many years now. Long before my time. And the Unity? Is that what you kids are calling The Trade Order Council these days? Respect your elders, young snip, or you will come to regret it. Sooner, not later mind you. And goodness gracious, why on Earth, may its legend hold us close, would you ask me if I was Advent? Those heinous devils ought to be exterminated if you ask me, and the Trader Emergency Coalition is not doing its job right, no sir, not if you asked me. Why, back in my day, I was the best space pilot ever to man a fighter I was, none better. Now look at what's happened. There are still as many Vasari as ever and now these Advent to boot.....sigh....no, no, I'm not tired, young one, I can answer your final question. I've never heard of a planet called Kron, were you born there? Was it near the alien front? I tell you, things would have been much different if I was in charge. Why, give me my old squad back and we'd wipe those alien bastards back to whatever gas giant they came from, I can tell you. But I am not in charge, and all I have left with me are my memories....
Your an elderly TEC ex-fighter pilot.
Do you like the TEC?
Are you married?
Do you have kids? Grandkids?
How do you entertain your self?
P.S. do you already have the answer in your head?
[HEADS UP! when i write something in brackets, its me talking, not my character. In response to your question, no, I don't have these answers in my head, im making them up as we go along. I have the who, where, and when written down, but otherwise im winging it and seeing how this goes.]
Excuse me, young wats-your-name? What business is it of yours who I am? [correct by the way. but the who was supposed to be easy. i cant act like the character and not give it away. keep going!] And did you just ask me if I like the Traders? Who doesn't!?! Oh, you mean the Coalition specifically? Well...the stars in heaven know that we need a strong military force right now, everyone certainly agrees on that but...o you wouldn't understand. There was something not right in the way all the Trader planets gave up their freedom like that, not right at all, and there'll be trouble from it, don't you doubt it. Big trouble. Not right, not right at all. But am I married? Wooh boy, that's asking me to remember back a while. No, no wife for some years now. She died in the fire on Judgment. You do remember Judgement, don't you? Boy, what a mess. I've never forgiven the Advent. Never. Not that I had much sympathy for them beforehand, mind you, but they did look human compared to those reptilian Vasari freaks. But after that day...no. I can't speak more of it. Ask me something else. Kids? Grandkids? No, no one else. I'm alone here now, with my wife gone. All alone...sorry. I get weepy sometimes. And how I entertain myself? Oh, there's not much entertainment in the life of someone as old as me. I usually go on walks around the city and appreciate its beauty. I reflect on my old war days. I wait to die. That is all I do, really, besides meals. Did you have any other questions for me?
Greetings Good Sir,
If you dont mind me asking a few questions,
What was your fondest memory, both pre-Judgement and Post?
What fleet did you have the honor of serving in during your time as pilot?
If you were say in your young prime again, who would you want to take vengance on more, Vasari or Advent?
Do you enjoy the cityscape or would you prefer a move to another remote planet?
Ah, hello young gentleman! I like you, you are quite polite, not like that other buffoon I had earlier. Did you know he really asked me if I like the Advent and Vasari? To my face! Teenagers these days....my fondest memory pre-Judgement? Oh, my wedding and honeymoon. Ah, what glorious times those were. I have no fond memories post-Judgement however. On that day my soul died. But ahh, you are asking about the 4th fleet Flying Fish! Haha, we had some great times. Attaching fish to out tailpipes, for instance. Oh, they were long dead fish, don't worry, we wouldn't harm live animals, but it was symbolic for us and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were under the command of Admiral Kol himself at one point, don't ya know. And after he disappeared, I had the honor of serving under her beauty the adorable Jessica. She was something else...you won't begrudge an old man his memories will you? Ah, no of course not. You are a gentleman. Who would I rather take on if I was in my prime? Oh, that has certainly no debate. The Vasari are evil, yes, and must be annihilated eventually, but the Advent have struck me deeper. They have struck right through to my heart, my very soul. Oh, my dear, dear Illana! My heart weeps for her always you know. But let's move on before I get too weepy to continue. Would I enjoy a move?!? Certainly not young man! I love Kitalle, and all of its cities, but I love Kitalle capital the best. Isn't it funny, how most planets' names are the same as their main city?
The Flying Fishes!?! Wow, what an honor I must say to meet you! And you have met Kol himself?! What a true honor!
Im sorry to dig up some painful memoires, but I afraid curiosity got the best of me. If you dont mind telling me more sir about your past I love to hear it!
If Kitalle is your home now, where where you born?
Did you ever venture to Navae? Hear it was a beautiful inter Trade Order planet. I myself have not been.
If you dont mind me asking more about your Military Carrier I be most honored!
Did fight in any major battles, during your time with the Flying Fish? Ive only read about their battles of Hema and Vene, where you invovled in those as well?
I am dreadfully sorry, sir. I had no idea who you were, and unfortunately, some of our old friends have become sympathetic to those deviants. You see, I was just trying to be sure you were not one of those sympathizers. Had I known who you were, I would have never brought it up.
I would love to know about the battle of Hema though, I once heard that only four squads took on twenty, as well as all their support!
And how long did you serve in the military?
Oh dearie me, I'd be happy to fill you in on more of my career, kind sir, if that's what you'd like...but I think you've got the battle names mixed up. They were the Battles of Herma, not Herna, and Veande, not Vene. Although I was not actually in the Battle of Herma, if you must know, I was still recovering from a near-fatal wound from Judgement, which was only a week beforehand...the pinnacle of the TEC-Advent-Vasari war, without a doubt...what a sad, sad day...who knew such millions could die in just 24 hours alone? And that was just from the TEC. How much damage it did to our enemies...what an awful, awful day. Terrible. No, I have never been to Navae, is that still a TEC planet? I've never heard of it in all my years in the service. Maybe you should get your names straight, young one! Not all of us have the luxury of an expensive education, and you look like one who has certainly received that. And finally, yes, yes, I've been in many battles, many battles. Whether you would call them major is a matter for the common people, but they were all equally terrifying for me. Never volunteer yourself for battle, young man, never hope for a fight. War is a terrible, terrible thing...
I accept your most gracious apology, young sir, and I beg forgiveness for my snappy attitude. It's my old age, you know. I've served in the military for 40 years, from my 20th birthday right smack to my 60th, when I retired. But I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. Four squads against twenty? It was more like fourty against two hundred. If we hadn't erected that starbase in time, I would certainly not be standing here today. At the end of the battle, their 200 squadrons were completely wiped out, and we were left with a squadron and a half. There was never a more terrible slaughter, never. At least up until that point. Judgement, however....ooo, millions of millions dead. Billions. And for what? Tell me that, for what was it all worth?
When you served in the military, what was your rank?
Oh, and what ship did you pilot?
[And do you intend to use this character in the story?]
[i might. someone archie meets while investigating zeke, possibly. but some of the clues im leaving in my answers relates to something in Sinners. As in if you looked in the story, you would understand more of my identity. Especially in my last two sets of responses. Just something to check out.]
When I served in the military, my highest rank was a Chief Petty Officer, but it wasn't like I kept to that rank. I've rollercoastered around the ranking charts several times, and have never spent much time out of the fighter pods, but that was where I liked it. What ship did I pilot? Oh, sonny, I think you have the wrong idea about me. I piloted a fighter. It's official name was fighter #1. The fighter was onboard several different ships, however. The TDN Golgonev, for instance, and the TDN Kolossus. Those were two of the more known ships I had the honor of serving on. Thank you for your questions, laddie, do you have any others?
I know it must be painful for you but could you tell me more about Judgement?
Quoting soasertsus, reply 13I know it must be painful for you but could you tell me more about Judgement?
Judgement.......oh, my, what an awful, awful day. Things were looking up, mind you. The talks with the Vasari and Advent were very favorable during the beginning of the Entrenchment years. And then.........oh, my. So many dead, so many ravaged planets on all sides....I better start from the beginning.
I was stationed on the TDN Kolossus, which was captained by the beautifully seductive Jessica Doremi. We were patrolling the area around the site of the STARBASE project, since we had gotten reports of pirate trouble in the nearby area. STARBASE was directed by the team that designed the Novalith Cannon, don't ya know. Professor Newman and his crew must be geniuses. Anyway, we enlisted the help of three other fleets to help protect and defend the STARBASE site. They called that starbase Judgement, you know, after what happened. So each fleet was sending out patrols to nearby sectors as we had heard pirates were in the area, and then one of our patrols never came back. We tried to hail them, but all we got was static. We sent another patrol out to find them, and they were never heard of again either. By then the patrols from the other fleets had returned, and Jessica Doremi ordered them to prepare for an assault coming from the phase lane our patrols had disappeared into. Thank the stars of heaven she was ready. Suddenly, out of the phase lane came a fleet of pirates, accompanied by three Vasari fleets! There were Ravastra Skirmishers, which we used to call dogboys, all the way up to Vulkoras Desolators! Now we were shocked, let me tell you. The peace talks had been going so well, you know. But we were fairly well matched, so Doremi outlined formations and battle plans fairly quickly, and then me and my squad were running for the hangar bays. There were four total squadrons docked on the Kolossus at this time, you know, my squad, the Flying Fish, and then there was the Steel Blasters, the Origami Orangatangs (that leader had a sense of humor, let me tell you), and the Death-by-Lightning squad. Every major capital ship had a Death-by-Lightning squad back in those days. A more serious or deadly group of men and women there never was. Without them, the Flying Fish would never have made it out of there. So we were just launching out of the hangar bay when our TACCOM representative on the Kolossus radioes us and says that they've detected more major phase signatures coming in from the phase lane behind us! (Relatively speaking, of course, as there are no directions in space.) So we turn around, expecting more Vasari, and guess what we found? FOUR Advent fleets! Four of them! It seems that during the three-part peace negotiations, the Vasari and Advent had cut a deal and gone after us. It was all run by the Advent leader, though. A more eery or despicable man I never did meet. Well, by the time the Advent had come in range, Doremi had already sent distress calls out to every single command ship in the TEC, notifying them of this betrayal. By the time the Steel Blasters and Origami Orangatangs had been eliminated and half my squadron destroyed, the TEC commanders had authorized all-out attacks at several large Advent and Vasari installations, but no help was coming our way. This I learned afterwards, mind you. They would not have been updating a lowly fighter pilot with this kind of urgent information. All I knew then was that Jessica had ordered all fighters back into their ships ASAP, and I was wheeling my fighter around and getting the tainted stardust out of there. The next thing I knew, my beacons were blasting full out and eight---eight!---enemy fighters were making their way towards me. Just when I thought I was finished, out of nowhere comes Death-by-Lightning and deflects the forward enemy fighters' lasers. But that wasn't all, no sir. Even as their ships burst into flame and the men and women inside surely perished, the Death-by-Lightning squad hurled their ships on automatic towards the enemy fighters. They collided in mid-space. Just think of the immense bravery and heroism of that action, though. Death-by-Lightning sacrificed themselves, their whole squad, so they could kill the enemy and help me escape. I was never really friendly with any of the Death-by-Lightning members, but I remember every single one of them dearly. Now once I got back into the Kolossus's hangar, Doremi herself is there waiting for us. She fills us in on the situation, how no one is coming to reinforce us, how we were outnumbered 8 fleets to four. And Advent and Vasari fleets were larger than TEC fleets. They more than doubled our numbers! Our last hope, Jessica told us, was the starbase. Now the starbase was almost completed and they had moved all the personnel onto it yesterday as the living quarters came online, so my wife was already down inside it, waiting for her section to come online. She was in charge of monitoring the weapons systems and making sure none of them got overheated. A real mechanic, she was. There were thousands of men and women working in the starbase, and every single one had a small but immensely important job to do. Like my wife. All she had to do was scroll through the system's reports on each and every weapon, which I'd think was tedious but she loved it, but my wife had to rely on the man checking to make sure the computer's were recording the information correctly, and in turn rely on I believe the woman responsible for maintaining adequate power to that part of the computer systems. There were thousands of men and women working in that starbase, and each one had to completely trust the rest of them, or the entire installation would fall apart. For the last year and a half, my wife's sole work in preparation for working on the starbase was bonding and trust activities with the other members of the starbase. A year and a half, and every day of it activities designed for one person to get to completely trust another! That gives you an idea of the mental strain a starbase position demands of you. Keep that in mind, young one, if you are ever asked to work on one. Did you know that starbase positions are the only military jobs that are legally not allowed to be put into the draft? You cannot be forced into working on a starbase, you have to be 100% willing to do it yourself. Anyway, half my mind was trying to come up with a way to save the fleet and get myself out of there alive, while the other half was filled with worry for my wife. She couldn't try and make a break for a phase lane, she was trapped on a not even fully-completed starbase! And even when the starbase was completed, there was no surety that it would work as expected, no promise that Professor Newman's designs were flawless. They were planning on months of testing before putting the starbase online.
Then the Advent leader contacted us. The conversation was displayed on every monitor on the ship. The remainder of my squad and I crowded under the immense single screen in the hangar bay, so large that it covered half a wall, while Jessica went back to the command bridge. l never in my life forgot the site of that Advent scum. Haiti, he called himself, and he spoke with such calm assurity and arrogance in his every word it put a bad taste in my mouth. I spat, and it felt like I was spitting out grease, or slime. Then Doremi was up in the command bridge, and she was talking with this monster.
"What is the meaning of this?" She demanded, and the Advent leader laughed. His laughter was cold and harsh, humorless. He said, "Today is your day, Sinner. The Reemergence has ended, and now comes your trial. Now comes the time where every terran in your pathetic union will be weighed and found wanting. Today is the day where every member of the Trader Emergency Coalition is found a Sinner. Today is the day of your Judgement." He laughed again then, and it sent chills up my spine. He disconnected the video transmission.
Well, there you have it. That was my experience on Judgement. But that wasn't everything, oh no. There was a whole day, I said, 24 straight hours of fighting and violence. This was only the first three. I know the rest of what had happened on that day, but this was everything that happened to me specifically. Do you want to know the rest of Judgement?
[for some reason, there's a whole chunk here that's on permament bold, it can't be taken off. but otherwise, this is HUGE foreshadowing of late part 2 or even early part 3 of Sinners, depending on how much I write into part 2. This will be a climax moment in the story. ha, it seems i can't write anything about Sins without tying it into Sinners.]
Do you have more questions for me?
[that was an awesome story! I hope that doesnt ruin the rest os Sinners for me cause Im only on part 1. Ill post more questions when I think of them.]
[must... see... Part II...]
[hahaha. well the Sinners perspective of this battle will be a lot more epic. and informative. when I write it it'll fit into the whole general plot (i think theres a plot in sinners, instead of like 18...) and make more sense. this was just from the perspective of one measly fighter pilot. but are there any more questions for my character? did we give up on the game? I win!]
Sir, how many enemy fighters have you shot down in your career?
[Oh, and I hope you don't mind, but I am using some Sinners referencing in the backstory of my mod (Fleet Diversification)... I'm assuming you don't mind...]
[not at all! but if you could mention where you got the idea, that'd be awesome! publicity ]
Oh deary me, how many have I shot down? Oh my, that's a large number. I don't remember of course, we don't keep count, but I would say hundreds over the course of my military career. You can check for the exact number in my official records, of course. Look under Albert Frankensten.
[I'm going to guess that the time was during entrenchment?]
Samurye.
[nope. guess again.]
Sir, I would like to ask a few questions. You see, I am writing a book detailing the different experinces and thoughts of several people about the War.
What do you think abut the current situation? Does the Order stand a chance? Do you think that the Vasari/Advent advance shows any signs of slowing?
What do I think about the current situation? Son, there is no situation. No real one. Our time is over, we're all done for. The Vasari may beat us or maybe the Advent, but I doubt it'll be either. It'll be us that defeats us, we're throwing away all our morals in this war. If we can't stand above it all, who says our children will be able to? Do we stand a chance? Well, certainly we stand a chance. We've held our own in the war in the past few years, we're no longer on the edge of desperation we were when the Advent arrived, but certainly we're still in trouble. And do I think the Vasari/Advent advance shows signs of slowing? Son, where have you been? They have slowed, they've stopped, we've all stopped! Now, our earlier entrenchment ideas didn't work out too well, seeing as the Vasari and Advent soon followed and even surpassed our examples, we all know that. And our peace talks certainly failed, I don't need to recap Judgement, now do I, but as to say what's next, who knows? The only sure thing in war is that nothing is certain. Who knows what the next day will bring? I certainly don't.
[The time is during the third expansion?]
