Honestly, I've just installed this on a plain Sins of a solar empire (patched to 1.17?) copy and I'm loving the models you've done for the federation ships.

I personally think that the defiant fits better as a cruiser but hey its your mod im just happy to be playing it cant wate for the next version!!!

the mod is currently on hold for repairs due to limitations we have currently discovered. It will take some time to fix these issues. but we are hoping to release before August.

We were having mini dump issues. The mod was put on hold till we can fix that problem and await more feedback from ic suppport.

Hey guys... I've been busy as hell writing and recording my 1st CD... so I don't have time to model or texture... sorry.
But I am really good at proofreading entity files... mostly from my own modding screw ups. And that usually doesn't take to long...lol. If there is anything I can do to pin down these mini-dumps, I'l be glad to try and help.
ok narrowed my dump issues to correspond to the game speed im running fine for 30 mins on reg game speed then jacked it up to over 4 times and it crashes in under 8 seconds (as my prime problem)

I've had an idea for an ability for pretty much all of the ships. A speed boost so all the ships have two speeds > half impulse to full impulse > warp 5 to warp 9. However due to the speed, disable weapons and increase chance to dodge so it also counts as taking evasive manuveres.
>linear speed +100%
>hyperspace travel speed +100%
>chance to dodge +80%
>Weapons disabled
I have managed to do this by canabilising the "protected shutdown" ability from the vasariit just switches on and off at will, there is no time limit as in ST there is no time limit that the ships can go at full speed, I haven't got it costing anti-matter at the moment but that also is an option, to limit the ability slightly.But I thought giving an ability like this to all races (maybe a seperate one per race depending on the speed you want the race to go ie. give federation a warp 9 ability and a lower chance to dodge and the romulans a warp 7 and a higher chance to dodge.) I just thought this may add realism to this brilliant mod in progress.

Yes there is. An example that I can think of right now is in Best of Both Worlds where the Enterprise is chasing the Borg cube (or is it the other way round?) and they are saying how they can only maintain this speed for only so long before various scifi techbabble things burn out.
Yes, but that was only because they were running at absolute maximum warp. There is never any indication that a ship would not be able to travel within specs for a very long time. Say months or years (Voyager).
Well, been away for a few days. Looks like you guys are already on the minidumps. The game is dumping on startup, mod already enabled. The error I'm getting is Text FileArchive missing Label. Something in the entity manifest. I have the exact error for any of the mod team who needs/wants it.
Missing label usually means a syntax error or a typo. They're notoriously hard to hunt down, since the error message doesn't tell you *exactly* what's wrong, just that it is. Usually, the first error message that appears indicates the approximate place of the missing/typoed stuff, while subsequent messages tend to appear for every code line after that until you reach end of file, and then you get a minidump.
So if that's the case, 99% it's a typo or missing entry. Keep in mind some of the stuff in the Sins engine is still case sensitive - so make sure you have all your caps where they should be too.

The battle tugs are my favorite class next to the constitution class startships. Why capital ships though?
That's the great thing about creating your own mods, however. You make the rules, and we enjoy the final product.
I can't wait for this mod. I share the same love of Star Trek that you all seem to. I played the P+P Star Trek game(Kirk died in the first sit down we had, gotta love those 100 auto-failure rolls). Also played the tactical Star Trek game where you actually had to plot out shots with a rulers.

Original dump problem fixed, still dumping approximately 2 minutes into a game. Working on narrowing it down.
