This is a personal observation and therefore it is not accurate for all of Demigod games played, but to me it seems that almost nobody plays the QoT. Approximately in 1 in 10 games (mostly with 6 players) I find another guy/gal playing the QoT, which is in plain contrast to this official statistic:
http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/demigods/graphs/
(Filter by All, Graph by Games)
According to these numbers, one should encounter a QoT in almost every 2nd 6-player game (to be exact, the probability is 43.5%).
How are your perceived percentages of QoT players and which strategy do they usually play?
Anyways, the only times where fighting QoT seems to be common for me is on Crucible. For some reason the matchmaking system seems very fond of putting me against a QoT + 1 other DG(RooK usually) and then placing us on Crucible. I cry when I get this sort of match-up.
But otherwise I almost never see anyone play QoT. The only time I remember seeing a QoT outside the above conditions is in a custom game. Overall I'd say less than 1/10 of my games have a QoT.
Looking at the stats today, almost a day later, they look like the following :
<!-- BODY,DIV,TABLE,THEAD,TBODY,TFOOT,TR,TH,TD,P { font-family:"Arial"; font-size:x-small } -->
QoT has already dropped a percentage point on the overall stats (based on how many players have used her in one day), guessing the probability of seeing one in a game would be under 20%, no time to work it all out.
The interesting point of this thread is that it clearly shows that QoT needs some love. Also, worth looking at the win percentage, it is lower than the other DGs not to the same margins of how she is played, but it looks like she is the weakest (at least perceived) DG.
She's percieved as one of the weakest DG's because she doesn't really do much except exist, and most people like big numbers, I'll give her a shot this tournament season and see how that goes I played her for a couple of games in skirmish, first one I got pasted because I didn't actually know what the hell I was doing, and the 2nd one I was almost unkillable. So I just walked around trashing everything...basically.
Dear Allfather, I've found our problem.
Edit: What function of the QoT's slot probability have you been using to find her game probability? I'm curious myself.
She is the only demigod I actually use, and I have an eff up percenty becaause of it. Not because she sucks but because she was my first character, the only character I liked using and a very complex one to start with at that. But lately I'm at a point where I am beginning to feel like the only thing I really need is spike and shield adn screw everything else.
the bolded text is what i do just because she DOES suk in all other areas. and coz those 2 r her only "somewhat" effective skills means that QoT = shit, you cant ignore the fact that she has so many flaws atm.
No one is ignoring her flaws, but that doesn't mean people are just going to ignore her strong points two. She is a diamond in the dirt type of character after all.
so i guess then, we all agree that she needs to be changed.
Who ever disagreed that she didn't?
well then y do ppl always try to defend her as soon as someone says shes underpowered?
On topic:
I think her "games played" numbers are higher than I personally perceive because AI games also count. Lately I average about 1 in 50 games against another QoT.
I play her regurly, usually as a taunt to the enemy team=D. Indeed she is playable and even quite good in the semi-competive scene. In a real premade vs premade with good players taking qot is like writing your own death warrant.
She is a very complex character and some of her skills are actually pretty good. However due to forswitching its very hard to actually use them effectively. To do any damage you need to be in open form, but being in open form is like going melee with a regulus, its pretty much instant death against an able team. On top of her really bad stats, bad passive effects, she also needs heaps of mana. Being in closed form gives you 50% mana regen, but even with that and 3 mana items(favor, vlemish, plenor) I run out of mana more than enough. For the record, you have around 6k mana and 55 mana per sec with the those items(and unbreakable).
She just scales really badly late game
I'd just like to point out the massive statistics fail in this thread. Going simply by the only calculation that made sense, a QoT has a 7.02% chance of taking any given slot. So in a 3v3 game, there is a 92.98% chance that the slot will NOT be filled with a QoT. So there is a 92.98^6 = 64.61% chance that any given game will have no QoT. This gives you a 35.38% chance of having a QoT, or about 1 in 3 games.
Edit: With the 6.12% chance of QoT for any one slot, it's a 31.54% chance of a QoT per any game.
She isnt that bad lategame tbh. Her problems begin earlier. At the point where armor becomes important and Ub can two shot your bramble shield. THis is turn makes you stay in your cocoon, because coming out of it spells certain death. But staying in means you will do a measily 100 dps not counting minions. Also, because her skills synergies so much makes it much easier to get your off you balance with a good burst or interrrupt; while my skills are vastly superior theoreticly than regulus's, since I have a shield to stop his skills and can mulch his AA and on top of that my monks heal me, while being able to quickly armor redux and slow him for the finish. Sadly it doesnt work like that, the reg throw his mines on my feet instantly wiping my measly shield a good chunk of hp, but most importantly all my minions including my walking potions. Resummoning costs heaps of mana and all the time reg shoots me.
Frogboy stated that a request has been sent to GPG to buff QoT but I do not believe that this buff will arrive soon.
Whereas Stardock work really hard to make things better (connections, stats overlay), I fear that GPG management has lost most of its interest in improving Demigod. Which is the right decision from an economic point of view, but it will also taint my opinion of GPG quite a lot. Sorian, you're of course not the one to blame!
Wouldn't using that logic cause you to have bad opinion of a lot of other game developers? It's quite hard for us to judge if we're not running a business. They don't have a massive cash cow like Blizzard and they still need to survive. Besides, judging from Sorian's blog posts, GPG appears to be doing a lot of work on Demigod. Quality takes time as always.
I've given up playing QoT.
When I did, I'd just go mana/speed and use shield/thorns/other thorns with cloak of night. Later i tried experimenting with a morale shamblerless build that only took level 1 shield since it doesn't scale well... probably because QoT was designed during a coffee break right before launch and no one felt like coming up with cool effects like the ones oak and sedna enjoy when they put points into shield and heal. It was good sometimes but ultimately it was even more late game sucky that the standard I was using before. Tried using mulch builds which were kind of effective but sometimes caused me to fall asleep.
I've very rarely played with or against QoTs... sorry, can't really give you a specific number cause it hardly happens. Will tell you this... the only Queens who didn't contribute to their teams losing in recent memory were Sho333 who uses the thorns shield mo thorns amulet of teleporting build and helped beat a decent team I was on... and someone else i can't remember... He used a build similar to yours but just without Cloak of Night and held off my Obscenitor Renewal Style Rook from taking down the towers near Catas gold flag... he was a solid player with a solid build but it didn't do him much good since I was creeping and controlling the flag... his team kinda sucked though. Oh, and PJ__ was really good but he pretty much just does what I think you do: Mulch/Entourage/Shield Cloak of Night and a whole lotta mana.
So thats the effective styles I've seen... as far as how often I play with or against a QoT all I can say is very rarely and even when someone picks her, he's usually told to change by his allies.
From what I've een seeing was people stright putting QoT down without any hint of how she can be useful, yes it's there but it's situational. Many don't even try to venture or explore with her, they just want another character where all they have to do is alittle of this or alittle of that and now I can own whatever comes my way.
Thundercles played Queen for months.
Months.
Every game I've played with or against him, he was queen (until he got pissed at an oak and tried to play as an oak. I met him again shortly after this time). He's not a bad queen, rather, he's afflicated with getting poor teammates and a Queen needs good teammates, like a Rook. So, yeah, Thunder has tried pretty much everything with Queen. He's explored and ventured quite a bit
Your stats:
no he doesn't
(until you get 100+ games most good players will kick you so you can't have played queen against good players)
I believe she isn't played as much as the other Demigods because she is, overall, harder to use, her two forms especially. One form's weaknesses are the other form's strengths, and vice versa. I'm sure most people prefer to do away with troublesome forms and just use a Demigod without forms like QoT's. Also, most people don't like playing support.
She's definitely a good Demigod, but she's quite hard to play, and probably does need a buff.
is this a fact? ... or just you making an assumption?
Think what you wish after all in the end this is just a game and this is just a forum.
I wasn't going after him I was merly stating my perspective on the matter from what I have seen and experienced. Whether someone agrees or disagrees with me is a matter of there perspective simply put.
