For the next FAQ, I'd like to respond to questions from the forums.
Do you guys have any questions?
I would like to know if dead units are counted as a resource and thus can be used in necromancy?
Also is their any plan in implementing Achievements?
You expect our resident troll to actually *read* things?
All of the above...
But to be honest, I guess any new information would be welcome, just tell us the things you feel confident about releasing to the public.
Thanks for doing this Frogboy, some questions.. (probably some hit on already too)

OH! I got few...
1. If you capture at least one of all five (or was it four can't remember)element sites can you combined the elements power to cast all powerful Elemental spells that use all 5 powers ie basically that just completely blows your enemies away?
Cause this would be sweet. The whole map would hear elemental and then everyone would be like ahhh "crap please not me, pleaSE NOT ME!, PLEASE NOT ME!, (big flash of light some fancy looking spell goes off if ya know what I mean)WOOO NOT ME...(looks to his partner) Billy...? Crap I though that would of taken longer..."
2. Does your channeler, heros, and soldiers gain experience and level up? For each level do they get different bonuses... like move faster, travel farther, more HPs, increase to damage, increase to defence, heal faster, increase line of sight, etc...
3. How are generals build? Are they like heros and or soldiers that just become a general after a few battles ie are unlocked with experience, or is it technology that unlocks generals? Or maybe a bit of both are the requirements?
4. Hehe... bear calvary? Different mounts? Please!
5. Can I get a little more detail on the Combat please!
I read things sometim.... wait, you're talking about some OTHER troll coming in on my territory. sounds like I need to get out my troll beating club and defend my forum. *I* am the title of "resident troll" , and I want it to stay that way. there are so many "psycho" characters with no avatar I lose track of them. I think I already forgot which one I was to beat... oh well, maybe next time.
speaking of trolling, I should probebly do my spamming job and ensure the questions *I* want answered are posted again... in case there is a popularity contest to be as "Frequently asked" (and I can trick somebody into counting my votes twice because it is on a second page)
In no real order:
Will we be able to train spell-caster units without using essence? What economic model have you settled on (even if only tentatively)? Will channelers be able to gain essence throughout the game?Could you clarify what you mean by simultaneous turn-based combat? How versatile will spells be? At casting, can we strengthen/weaken aspects of spells by using more/less mana/essence?Will spell creation be a part of the game or will it only be done separately using modding tools? Will there be multiple mount types - and more specifically will there be bears? How are the magic schools organized - are they all divided like life/death and will this be alignment-dependant?
Will channelers be restricted to picking magic school mastery levels at the beginning of the game or will it happen throughout the game?
yes! and more
the announcement of alpha testers?
Elemental wallpapers?
and when we do have official wallpaper, will they have a logo even when it clashes with the rest of the image in an artistic sense? Any chances of wide-screen versions of wall paper?
And no, I don't care about the bear cavalry!
scoutdog, thats not a question...
I disagree with the phrasing, since I don't think clirification on what a real-time rts clickfest is, and that is pretty much assured not to be in this game even if it IS real time. (I believe total war was the 'real-time' example of combat given, which is so not a click-fest it makes me go to sleep sometimes)
However, I posted it because clarification on combat is mucho-desired. Last anything we got was a screenshot we were told to ignore that showed heaven's laser shooting at a dragon. with a grid and catapults.
Allow me to rephrase: Do I not care about the bear cavalry, or what?
Altough I would prefer something about a "contest" about custom units and have the best one of them in-game from launch. Whatever.
You should care about bear cavalry. They taste like chicken.
And you obviously don't know the definition of a WARGAME. It doesn't always have to be WW2 or Napoleon or Civil War etc etc. IGMO. Any game that depicts two or more races waring against one another is not only a strategy game but a A WARGAME IGMO. Now STFU and just ask questions and stop hijacking threads about things you know nothing about.
Looks to me like you are the troll IGMO you didn't even do what Brad asked you to. You just childishly attacked and hijacked the thread. So, take a look in the mirror troll. At least I did what he asked to do. A few of you (you know who you are) just act like children every post or thread. Like you are some kind of guru to the game lol. You don't know squat as you aren't the game developers. I also prefer to hear what Brad says about my questions not you IGMO's.
/troll, the problem with Winter's "contest" is that tyhe bear nuts would all just put in "bear", while we would all go for different creatures. I think we need to do a "primary", possibly using the PABC thread....
Please, for the love of god, people, people, people - Stop feeding the troll! But on a related note: Wargaming / 4x - Turn-based.
What is wrong with you people?!
Well, at least he's not calling everybody carebears now?
Hmmm Brad, contest of any kind in the not so far future?
Ohhh, I see. I was thinki9ng of something like an election of some kind..... that work really well.
I'm trying to get caught up on things here as I'm putting Demigod off to the side for now so forgive me if this has been addressed already.
- I believe it was stated before that there will be custom units such that as upgrades or more resources become available you can upgrade them. Like you have a Knight who with a horse becomes a calvary unit who with a magic sword becomes an Avenger and so forth.
The question is, will there be a way to "save" these custom units for future games like you can in the ship designer for GalCiv 2?
I can envision some sort of unit designer similar to the ship designer where you can save these units for future use. These units then might show up in the tech tree like in GalCiv 2 so that I know to get an Avenger I need 2 more technologies and/or resources. Then in future games my custom units will appear as available to build as I get the needed tech/resources.
I have some questions:
Is there anything more beautiful than a beautiful, beautiful flamingo, flying across in front of a beautiful sunset? And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk.
I think somebody should come up with a way to breed a very large shrimp. That way, you could ride him, then, after you camped at night, you could eat him. How about it science?
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.
Just one question:
Typically I play LAN games with my brothers and my son(15) at my brothers house which ranges anywhere from 3 to 7 players. Due to the location the internet access is very unstable with frequent drops. The question:
Will we be able to play Elemental as a LAN game on the computers?
When do we get a new journal update?
What's the meaning of life?
What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
I hope you mean European Swallow, because there are like 40 different species of African swallow.
"Although a definitive answer would of course require further measurements, published species-wide averages of wing length and body mass, initial Strouhal estimates based on those averages and cross-species comparisons, the Lund wind tunnel study of birds flying at a range of speeds, and revised Strouhal numbers based on that study all lead me to estimate that the average cruising airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles an hour."

The screen shots you just posted lead me to believe the camera angle is going to be fixed (like GC2) rather than freely rotating (like SoaSE). Is that right?
This is not a complaint by the way I can see how scrolling out to the map you might want that, and personally I like it. I just had envisioned up until now that you would be rotating the camera around, but I wouldn't be disappointed if I was wrong - just curious.
If the camera does rotate, will it be by compass points or freely rotating? I guess a simpler question is other than scrolling and zoom, what other camera controls (if any) are there? <--- This is really what I want to know.
