Anyone plan on getting the new overlord game that came out? I found the orignal to be pretty fun. Spent a lot of hours in that game. Never did play its expansion.
Wasn't that excited after the demo, will wait for Gametrailers' video review.
More important, will it be on Impulse?
Its on steam but not impulse. I am hoping it comes to impulse, its much better then steam.
I played the demo, from what I could tell (it was a very very short demo) it was pretty much more of the same. Graphics look about the same, gameplay feels about the same; all in all quite good, but I justed finished the original's Raising Hell expansion in anticipation of the sequel so now I don't feel like I gotta have it right away, and have some of the rare but significantly stupid and non-intuitive challenges in RH in recent memory to temper my excitement. If it comes to Impulse, I'll probably buy it; while I loved the first, I wasn't too keen on the hoops I had to jump through and activation limits I had to agree to in order to get the Raising Hell expansion legally.
Thats why I stayed away from the expansion. I heard about all the junk you had to go thru to play it legally.
They also made a spin off for the Wii. My bro got that one. Different story and different overlord, geared more for kids with little red hood and other fair tales twisted it.
Overlord 2 trailes show the minoins going after baby seals...truely evil.....
I have it and I do enjoy it. The grahpics believe me are better. The game play is quite similar though with some additions. Including three new mounts for the brown, green, and red minions. You can also use catapults and stuff. The tower customization has been expanded and you can now have 3 mistress at the same time! More the merrier? I'd say so far it was worth my 40 bucks.
However warning with those who have an 8800 gt. For some reason after about an hour of playing my gfx's gpu rockets to about 100 Celcius! And then of course my pc restarts to save its sorry butt. This might not be the games fault as the card is supposed to increase the power of the fan the hotter it gets, but it doesn't seem to be doing that. So, I have to go into nTune and set the damn thing to about 80% fan power just to keep it around 70 C so it wont take a hot steaming dump onto my motherboard.
demo was awful imo
Have you played the older overlord game? Demo aside if you did not care for the old one i don't think you would like the new one. And vise versa. What got me into overlord was it was a like a dark twist to pikmin (and pikmin was a fun game).
I quite like it.
The original Overlord was a decent game, but if the sequel is just more of the same I'm not interested. Storyline was too linear, minion controls were finicky and frustrating at times, and there wasn't that much to actually do. A lot of the boss fights were overly scripted and it was trial and error until you figured out the timing and positioning the devs had intended for you to use.
Game had potential, but it was still a ways from tapping it in the original. If this is just more content, then I'll pass.
