It's not up on Blizzards site yet but it's on youtube (Man, everything's on youtube these days )
It's a Zerg vs Protoss on a new map with the space tileset with the Zerg at 12 and Protoss at 2.
They show off the Protoss Nullifier with its forcefield ability which is used to great effect. It also got antigravity which is taken for a spin.
The Zerg Infestor got mindcontrol which is insanely powerful and is used for maximum power.
To summarise, it's a lot of back and forth battles with some gamechanging moments (ninja moves also called) that change the tide of the game quite a few times.
Here it is.
Oh I forgot its in two parts, here is the second one:
There's also a few other sights (with better quality)
It was released to a japan gaming website I believe and quickly spread.
seriously can't wait for this game now.... I'm also hoping I get into the beta... but its probally not going to happen
I hate how they're trying to sound like Sport's Commentators. It feels overdone, overblown. It feels like american "documentaries" where they go "LOOK at this man, shuffling DIRT onto a hill - the hill could collapse and KILL HIM at ANY moment! This is surely THE DIRTIEST JOB!".
Fileplanet has it now, which is pretty much the best HD download you can get I think.
Strangely enough, the more of it I see the more I'm excited for it.. but only for the single player. It's not the kind of game I like to play online.
Gaming heaven .
While I'm looking forward to Starcraft II enourmously, every time I watch these I can't help but feel they're tailoring it to the E-Sports crowd. Also, it saddens me that 10 years after the original Starcraft the HUD still takes up a full third of the screen.
And there won't be tactical zoom, either
Really one of the few times that graphics makes a game better, having a rotatable 3d view with Tact Zoom is awesome.
About SCII, I'm not too hyped up about it, I love RTS, but not sure I'll have time to commit to be any good at it, I will probably buy it anyway due to the fact that Blizzard is a PC only developer(atm). Really need to show developers/publishers that PC gamers are not just a bunch of pirates (HEY CLIFFY B I'M TALKING TO YOU!)
Competitions of Starcraft get huge following. I suppose its the way they want to market it. Next stop the Olympics.....
The great thing about Blizzard games is it's filled with so many features and such a large modding community that it really doesn't matter what they tailor the game to everyone will find fun from it. That's been my main gripe with PC Games (at least in the strategy department) is games are being downsized without features because they don't deem them important enough. Replays, easy means of communicating with friends, clan channels, tournament support etc.
So in conclusion GIVE ME THIS GAME NOW !!!!
The following this game has in Korea is legendary, however I think Blizzard are going to shoot themselves in the foot if they focus exclusively on this market. I played Starcraft way-back-when because it was fun. If you jump onto Battle.net now, 10 years later, you'll be kicked from a game in seconds if you're not competition focused. I guess it doesn't matter, the game will still sell like hot-cakes.
The amount of micro in those videos scares me.
Wth is this narrated like a football game. This makes me sad for life.
Honestly, the zerg player's lack of persistance and creativity when it came to getting that expansion up was sad. All he'd have to do is sneak his second drone into the smoke and come out as soon as he lured the probe into his base.
I can't understand why Blizz only shows NARRATED (and horribly at that) and 1v1 matches... and matches that are micro intensive and feature zero high tier units. Does that mean they're useless?
So neural parasite affects colossi? One of the coolest new units to introduced in SC2 yet after its first appereance, it's been completly useless in all the videos i've seen. Sure Blizzard's posters at Battle.net forums claim it's good but i've seen nothing pointing at that.
Oh looks good... and even fun, if the actual ladder games can played at normal speed, not fast like Warcraft 3. In Custom games, you have no idea what level people are against you, unless Blizzard really improves the Bnet interface and allows me to check other's stats while in custom game lobby.
But... too micro intensive... especially when Blizzard is incapable to desing a working quick keys: qwer-asdf-zxcv... Blizzard simply uses quick keys "randomly" around the keyboard. (Friend suggested a third party program to change the keys to were they should be but he missed the point completly... and a player shouldn't need ANY third party programs or tools to be able to play effectivly)
Well in this latest one, the Protoss did get a few Collosi out, which were promptly mind controlled (seriously, there were detectors in SC that could detect burrowed units, SC2 doesn't have them anymore?).
Sacrafices must be made in the name of better graphics!!!!!
The video has proved to me what a horrible experience playing online will be, god it looked like such boring little hyperactic click fest, kind of like C&C games online now.
I'm going to have to wait until I see a lot of reviews that claim the single player is worth the price of admission.
"E-sports were made for those who can't play sports in real life."
Not my quote, but possibly somewhat true.
Welcome to the RTS sub-genre known as the Rush RTS. This is why I prefer games like Supreme Commander.
Hahaha, well, yes, however you can't deny there is a certain degree of skill involved. I, for one, couldn't compete with the professional Starcraft players.
The difference between Starcraft and Supreme Commander is pretty small. The biggest difference is the 100x bigger community size of starcraft and the age which leads to an insane average skill level (so it was no surprise that most of the top supcom players were good starcraft players before)
Oh and the biggest difference between real sports and e-sports is that you don't need drugs (yet) to be at the top of e-sports...
While I enjoy these movies it's just further proof that for me, SC II will be a single player game.
I will probably pass on this one - did SC1 a looong time ago. Unless there is a demo.
Will wait for elemental - more my style.
