I joined ICO today and maybe 10 people are in chat on a Saturday.
The most I saw were 3 games waiting for players.
I tried to join a 4v4 and and it says "game not found" Then I tried again.. "game not found". Then all games dissappear except the 4v4, I join it. It crashes and everyone is booted. I join again, it crashes and everyone is booted. I join a final time and it seems stable.
I notice the 4v4 has 10 slots, so I ask "why does a 4v4 have 10 slots?"
The responses are as followed:
"kcik himstfu
fuck off
Tkins is idiot"
I leave the game and go to main lobby where there are about 5 people, no one is chatting and there are no games available.
This awesome game needs a huge improvement to it's AI because the online community is lame duck. I haven't been able to find a decent game to play online in about 5 days.
Shame too, because I used to really enjoy playing this game online.
Sins of a solar empire really needs to improve Multiplayer
it should have a better and easier to use chat system and stuff. and also make it able to tell what version game the person is running(expansion or not)
A guild creation option...
------And this isnt really needed, But more Profile pictures would be fun!
Like.... Buying sins of a solar empire is really just buying the online Multiplayer. So this should get more focus.
I wish they would someday make the option to make your own ownership icons.... Cause the homeworld 2 personal Badge system was really cool!
I agree with Shunmaha, the online multiplayer needs to be improved. Unfortunately, it's probably too late to save the online multiplayer game at this point. Most people who will ever play Sins have already purchased it and made their decision about whether they want to play Sins at all and the online multiplayer game. Even if ICO were perfected and excellent new features were added, I doubt it could save the player counts. If you enjoy online multiplayer Sins, enjoy it while you can because eventually the prime time player counts will drop to where online multiplayer is no longer sustainable. Perhaps a small group of diehards will continue to play the game for years to come (will Sins ICO even be around?), but it will become increasingly difficult to find games.
