One of the coolest old Sci-Fi strategy games from back in the day. Emperor of the Fading Suns.It's basically a turn based strategy game where each side starts with one planet, as a noble family, and works to gain the emperors seat. At least in theory, it was buggy and slow as hell to play. They had to patch it multiple times to get it to move faster than 20 minutes a turn.
I don't doubt your game is pretty awesome. But I think Stardock should redo dungeon keeper (or startopia, if nobody wants to compete with Overlord to properly fill DK's shoes, and because "startopia" might better match "stardock")
I think stardock should redo bible adventures! Damn those slippery controls!
I'd like to see them redo the original Kohan. I think the exploits in that would have been fixed if Stardock would have done it.

Ironically, I've been going through old games and just replayed that. It's still just as entertaining as the day it came out, though I wish it revolved more around traps and dungeon design than monsters...
I have to say...a new Dungeon Keeper could be pretty sweet.
I've heard lots of good things about Emperor of the Fading Suns over the years, and I too would very much like to see a sequel.
However, I'm not sure Stardock would be the best choice for that, due to how heavily invovled they already are with other space strategy titles: They already publish Ironclad's Sins of a Solar Empire (and expansions), plus their own Galactic Civilizations series is pretty much the flagship product for their gaming side of the business. For them to tackle yet another space strategy franchise feels like it would be almost....superfluous.
That said, if Stardock ever *does* secure the rights to make an "EotFS 2", I certainly won't complain.
Well it's def a different KIND of space game though. They need to corner the market!

I would love to see a remake of K240! That game somehow just worked - with the missiles, the "Welcome to SciTech" women voice etc. Sid Meyers "Pirates" remake was a fantastic acheivement... if something similar could be done with K240 I'd be over the top...
If anyone know of such a remake of the game please, for the love of god, tell me! I dont mean "now PC windows 98 update" - I mean a real remake
Galactic Civilizations 3 could always borrow some elements of that game in the OP. Seems quite interesting

I'm reading a manual right now, looks like an interesting game. It seems like a tabletop game converted to a PC game, and these game frequently have a very interesting game mechanics but a bad interface (which is absolute killer). Lack of polish shows too. The best one i played so far was Birthright: Gorgon's Alliance TBS with tactical battles and real-time RPG sub-missions (made according to original tabletop Birthright D&D setting), it was interesting enough with many options but it didn't swamp a player with insane micro in the later parts of the game.
I always wanted Birthright when it came out but couldn't get it. I'll have to find it. So far on this list Dungeon Keeper and Syndicate also hit me. Great games. (Syndicate Wars? Ew).Majestic 2 = DK? I don't see it really.
Not a remake but an inspired one... a "spiritual sequel", I'd guess, but have you tried Fragile Allegiance?
Majestic 1 is the exact opposite of Dungeon Keeper in setting, it's almost exactly the same concept in gameplay though.
In Majestic you build structures to lure heroes of different type and indirectly control them through their environment to get them to fight monsters that are coming from the dungeons. The heroes level up and go about their business based on their hero type.

In Majestic you would often be against another Kingdom, in DK you would often be against another Dungeon.
I prefered the DK stages where you just had to survive against a tide of adventurers myself, rather than the ones where you fought a keeper and just had to dark sight+lightning their imps repeatedly.
Yeah I agree but the thing that really irks me about DK is that any hero invasion is best stopped by picking up every single monster and just dropping them on the heroes head, it's pretty lame. Defeats the idea of adventurers exploring and plundering your dungeon and setting up traps etc.

You should redo : starcommand Deluxe (also known as star command: revolutions. it was a game back in 1996 i played it on a 486AT if i am correct with dos4gw. Too bad it was never redone, because it was a really good game back then. i enjoyed playing it for hours!
Yeah, it would be way more interesting if you could only have so many monsters per room, and more traps and such... Perhaps synergies between certain monsters, etc. But the game was still fun!!
