Now that rage quitting has been discussed until the cows come home I am finding that in custom games, particularly where there's a smaller community(such as with Australian players), it's not so easy to remain anonymous and people who ragequit get remembered and punted out of games. Players are not just simply being assholes now and bailing, they're coming up with convenient reasons.
Ugh sorry guys, this Sedna suddenly says last night as their team is getting spanked, my screen is like totaly grey, I cant see anything...alt-f4
Anyone getting lagged? Man I am so lagged, says another guy suddenly, also conveniently after his side is getting smashed. alt-f4
Erk my cat is chewing on my network cable...alt-f4
Seriously, I have heard a few excuses with people bailing just after, all when the team is incidentally getting owned. I have been taking note of people who quit, via either rage or excuse as imo it's just absolutely piss poor form. Wherever possible I try to make sure if someone has bailed on a loss that they dont play with our regular groups again. Of course there are some people who legitimately DO have problems, we all know the game isnt perfect in that regards, but it's pretty damned obvious when someone is full of sh1t also.
I can actually see a wow playing ignoring his house on fire if it meant not having to log out.
Well it's your fault really. Why don't you just let the man quit if they are getting spanked? Unless you are hunting for favor points, there is no point in insisting that the other team stays in the game after defeat is certain.
What Izzo said.
I refuse to play with him, tho its tempting to play UB against him.
Rude, arrogant, and nothing special as a player.
Quoted for truth. If the outcome is certain, why should you care if they stay in the game. You still get your reward.
Theres a big difference between ragequitting early in the game, and conceding when defeat is certain, and for some reason a lot of the people on these forums cant seem to tell the difference.
At least we will get the concede button in a patch or two, and hopefully then people wont expect their opponents to stand there and get beaten to a pulp for 20 mins.
