Note: According to GPG according to a comment, the development of a new Demigod from scratch is supposed to cost GPG $100,000 (source: he-said-he-said-they-said). It will certainly get cheaper if GPG streamlines their efforts to generate new DG content, but even so they have to earn money.

Surprisingly this thread got revived and offered nearly 20 new identifyable votes.
Like always, the current result required a bit of an interpretation effort on my part: For example, a decent sized expansion gets interpreted as 4 demigods and a full expansion as demigods, however phrased.
The dislike of the downloadable-content model persists. Although it's not quite clear to me what the factual difference is between a 4-DG DLC for 5$ per DG and an expansion pack containing 4 DGs for 20$-25$. I suppose it's the fear of the legendary "horse-armor".

Sorry I didn't read many posts in this thread.
I would not pay for new demigods and maps. I'd probably just quit. I like this game, but paying extra for games I already bought isn't in my budget.
I think that the planned 2 demigods at a time is fine. Frogboy mentioned a Demigod 'pipeline' - I hope this means we can expect to see Demigods come out at a much faster rate once they get chugging.
While I do also really want new maps as well, I don't think it matters how many are released at one time, and about 3 maps total in a 2 month period would be ideal I think.
I am saying how I'dl ike it to be seen.
I see 3 possibilities:
1. I am able to persuade GPG to produce more Demigods faster.
2. I am able to persaude GPG to let Stardock produce Demigods/maps for them and then release.
3. I am able to persuade GPG to let modders and Stardock to produce Demigods/maps for them and then release them.
That's the bottom line really.
I hope some sort of arrangement is worked out to get those Demigods and maps into release. I'd hate to see a good game like this dry up because of lack of content.

let me put it this way there is 52 demigod combos at the moment not counting doubles hmm and there is arround and there is quiet a few more if u count each combo onto each map

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Obviously there are people have already stopped playing this game. I don't think think anyone will disagree with that. Since I don't play as often as some (such as you, who have about 200 games before patch 1.1), my enjoyment of the game is being stretched across a longer period of time.

And if GPG ever decides to give modders some tools then I'd like them to start with releasing a map editor first.

There will almost certainly never be a map "editor".
The maps in Demigods are huge 3D models unto themselves. I think modders could still make maps with an SDK but I don't see a future where someone is making a map with some sort of editor (unless you count 3D Studio Max an editor).
But hopefully with proper modding support and an SDK you'd still end up with a lot of good maps. We'll see.
I would pay just to get somthing new....as much as I love this game (and I play 7-8 games each day on average)...it becomes boring...I know every DG, every build, every map, every item..there's no more fun and we can't even compete against other teams

So dont play only with your team. Play random games with random players believe me you'll be challenged.
It's fun somtimes to play with someone new in a random team that's been killed 5 times after 10 min and still win the game after "hard working" in that game. Sometimes i'm sweating in this kind of games.
Any chance you could get an answer from GPG as to whether we'll get an exporter plugin to use with 3DSMax to get things into the proprietary GR2 format DG uses?

Make them free. Or make them 3 dollars per demigod. Release em in pairs, and make sure that anyone who doesn't buy em can play with people who did.
Give modders more tools to make custom demigods.
That doesn't sound too bad. I'm pretty sure there are guys out there who are crazy and would find that sort of challenge exciting.

5 bux for 2 demigod isn't to bad as long as they don't go EA route and start throwing out shitty demigods for quick cash.
To be honest; if these guys would get serious I would pay $10 USD just for more hot fixs and working stats/match making.

Sad part is all they really have to do is "tweak" draw/model the new Demigods. With countless posts about ideas for Demigods most of them good. If they wouldn't have released such a buggy game they could be pouring out all the content they owe us. Then start releasing extra shit and making $$$$$

But tip for GPG/Stardock, please use Paypal too and other servises that help u get money.
But really. Their are many good ideas on forum about Demigods and map. Instead make that and realase in packs (like maps + demigods).

I will not pay for more content till the current bugs and level of content gets close to what I have already paid for. With all the hype about continually to pump new content into the game for free at the beginning (this was the main reason why i went ahead and purchased the game in its current state) and now all is said that we will get 2 free demigods??? Bugs being the top of my list.

oak is proberly 3rd best above lvl 10 but isn't very good low lvls
paying wont be fair, unless its an expansion.as with any game, all multiplayer versions need to be updated to the same version so there are no discrepencies between them.having Payed DLC that makes the version more recent than what is free will cause imbalance issues and a few other things.try this, 2 more demigods to each class, with light/dark textures/models as DLC + 8 maps and a map editorpayed expansion brings another 8 with the same DLC requirements.DLC was promised as maps/DGs. i dont mind if this DLC is trickled out over a few months as a map editor will take a long time.this will keep woes about the current level of content, DGs Maps etc at bay, while offering an expansion in future, with further DLC to increase scale.x

There was a time there when I would have jumped on any content like a ravenous dog. Truth is, after seeing LoL's roster, the variety in this game is severely lacking. I have 10 friends who currently own this game, and I could probably bug a few more to pick up this game and join us, but what for? So you can charge all of us 9 bucks for two demigods, in what, September? October? November? Gimmie a break. I'd rather focus my energies in convincing them to pick up LoL or maybe even HoN whenever that comes out. I'm not exactly confident this game will even get the updates anymore beyond the two Demigods. It's bad enough that GPG has ignored us but when Frogboy implies that they are even ignoring him, the head honcho of the company who distributed this game, the only thing I hear is the bell tolling.
I will not be buying any more GPGames in the future and I hate to be immature about this, I really hope SupCom2 fails hard.
On the other hand, much for Stardock. Really hate that you guys took a bullet for those jerks. Frogboy, please wash your hands of them.
