We get two for free anyway, so the starting roster is 10 demigods.
Let's assume for the sake of argument that:
Also, we all enjoy the game.
In the hopes that GPG isn't abandoning Demigod in favor of supcom2 or something else, how willing are you to fork over your cash in order to get more DGs of a quality similar to the original ones ?
(US-Dollars. Assume the dollar remains stable.)
Note: According to GPG according to a comment, the development of a new Demigod from scratch is supposed to cost GPG $100,000 (source: he-said-he-said-they-said). It will certainly get cheaper if GPG streamlines their efforts to generate new DG content, but even so they have to earn money.
Acceptable price for new demigods:
Also, what would be the most sensible way to release the new creations ?
Release format for new Demigods:
Updated Current result (#141):
Surprisingly this thread got revived and offered nearly 20 new identifyable votes.
Like always, the current result required a bit of an interpretation effort on my part: For example, a decent sized expansion gets interpreted as 4 demigods and a full expansion as demigods, however phrased.
The dislike of the downloadable-content model persists. Although it's not quite clear to me what the factual difference is between a 4-DG DLC for 5$ per DG and an expansion pack containing 4 DGs for 20$-25$. I suppose it's the fear of the legendary "horse-armor".

im bored of the maps and im out off good build ideas litrally i have klike 2 left a dps tb and a minion build ere
I bought this game for $15 dollars with a giftcard and recieved 8 Demigods, 8 Maps, 4 Gametypes, and a nice amount of Items. I am having fun with this game and I feel that I have gotten my money's worth. $15. Don't get me wrong I enjoy this game just as much as the next guy but come on...only 8 Demigods seems a little shallow. 8 Maps is acceptable but I feel as if I only really play on 3 or 4 of them. 4 Gametypes...all of which seem to me to be variants of each other (destroy citadel, destroy forts, destroy enemies, destroy enemies to hold flags) there needs to be some sort of variety. Finally, the items are nice and I will give them that...but it seems as if there is only a few items are worth getting in the long run.
Overall, this game feels like it's something I downloaded on Xbox Live Arcade or on Steam for a bargain price. If they were to charge for additional content I would have to lay this game aside. If they released content as Patches up to what I felt was an acceptable level for a New Game then I would be more willing to pay for an EXPANSION...not DLC. To make it feel like it was an acceptable New Game it would have to have at least 12 (preferred 16) Demigods that are all balanced. A selection of at least 14 Maps, and a total of 8 DIFFERENT Gametypes. With a more varied amount of Items it would round out the pot to make me feel as if I had spent $40 on a good cause.
After these requirements had been met then I would be willing to look into buying an expansion that released the amount of content that the first game had: 8 New Demigods, 8 New Maps, 2-4 New Gametypes, and once again a nice selection of New Items. For this I would be willing to pay $20 no questions asked, anything else and this game would be put aside until a later date.
As for your question as to an acceptable price on how much I would pay for a New Demigod, it would be zero. Finally, the release format I would prefer to see new CONTENT (not Demigods) would be in the form of an Expansion Pack.
40$ for a game would be an acceptible price for MORE THAN 12 demigods, MORE THAN 5 gametypes and MORE THAN 16 maps, take, call of duty 4 or halo 3, Full roster, full voice acting, full campaign ( 10-20 maps),tons of multiplayer modes, for 50-60$, and we should pay for more content?
i anit payingfor more content seeing as that the content isn't even anywere near when it was suppost to be here i think all the content was frre for puting up with the delays and the bugs
Sure why not, I'd pay 5 bucks for a demi. I'd take em as fast as you could pump em out, so 1
Agree w/ pseudomelon. I'd pay $5 a demigod SO LONG AS the patches keep coming (or the beer flows like wine). And I'd gladly pay $20-$40 for a full fledge expansion.
LOL @ whole thread.....I made a post about this....Unless they plan to make more then just a few DGs and make an actual expansion to bring in more money for their failure launch which a better open beta could of solved..... Then I dont support paying for pieces of a game.... I dislike how games are trying to cash in on it... but I paid for the game so I dont plan to buy extra stuff for it.... Id hope a company would do it to promote the game help bring in more people. Usually paying for content is more frowned upon then approved by the masses. If the company wants to be smart then bring in the ****ing community. Build modding tools for everyone and let modders bring in the extra content. Hell at least we could get map making tools so we wouldn't need the devs at all for.Look at Half Life and Warcraft 3. Those 2 games were boring and useless for anything except their out of box content.... then the modding communities went to town on them. From half life spawned counter strike, day of defeat and other mods that have become games. Warcraft 3 has some awesome custom content... stuff I cant even imagine how they did it. Total new models, new maps, crazy custom things like this one map where you can zoom in on a planet press esc and it zooms out into space... Plus DOTA spawned from WC3... a game with many heroes and fairly good balancing. As for DG.... obviously its models are much more complex graphics are much finer tuned so hardly to do well..... but if the community could start the process and then if the Devs approve any creation then the devs could fine tune the DG created to be fully good looking. But itd be a start and reduce that supposive 100,000 bill.
there are only so many demigods developers can put in without them having severe overlapping... if this game has anything more than 15 assassins and 15 generals adding any more would just be unceccessary bloat imho.
i'd be farrrr more interested in them adding new maps with new gameplay elements and new items that continue to make characters more and more powerful. maybe even item drops from other demigods you kill and a slightly increased level cap (25) higher ranks of abilities. the multiplayer in this game is addictively fun. pity that gpg dropped the ball on it. not even replay support out of the box? ridiculous.
not to mention that the single player is very sad. this game had such an awesome potential for a single player campaign. it feels like they rushed it as a test for their supcom2 engine.
i would pay for extra content monthly used to pay $13 bucks for WoW i would be willing to pay $5 a month if this game could pump out some new stuff.
heck i could take my gf to tacobell once a month on the $8 bucks i have left over.
I doubt i would want to pay for just a new demigod.
I'm not a fan of being "nickled and dimed".
Decent sized expasions such a la Sins wouldn't be as bad; but then again i rarly go and buy things like that.
Even on my PS3 i have yet to buy anything for two of my fav games.
Same thing for me, I prefer a "big" expansion, not small DLC. But I'm ready to pay 30$-35$ for a nice CE box 6-8 new demigods, at least 8 maps (more like Prison than Cataract... ), 1 new big strategic gamemode (a lot of citadel upgrades, with some choices =>you buy that, you can't buy that...), perhaps a nice attack/defense mod with objectives (you need to destroy that stronghold, you need to capture that flag and hold it until the drawbridge is close... and finally destroy the big boss (God of course , or the citadel )
Anyway, I'm sure you will find something original and fun
IMO, Demigods should come out in pairs and be $8.99 for two and should come out every 60 days.
Can you make that happen, because a lot of us would really appreciate that.
Also any ETA on the new demigods for the free DLC? We would love some concept art and info on them at the bare minimum.
keyword should if they come out every 2 months and with atleast 4 new maps each time i would gladly pay 9 dollars every 2 months
keyword if but by thr looks of it it will be every 4 months demis come out
I dunno. I think 5bucks might be better. I can see almost 10 bucks if there was a map included; but then again thats just me thinking.
Every seen the movie "Better off Dead"?
There's a paperboy who harrasses the main character with "I want my 2 dollars!" over and over.
That's me. "Where are those 2 demigods!?"
ii can understand were frog is coming from i can understand but for fuck sake how long would it take to ask GPG for some screen shots of the charaters
SD is a pretty big company with loads of people there how long would it take for one of them to go check on what GPG is doing and report back
i was in a mod team for stl we made ships from scratch usually from idea we had and from pictures we havd seen
it was my job to think of wat could be better in the forum in the ships in the website in everything
from what i have seen and heard it is pretty disorganised the bosses job is to now what is happening in the company and to control everything
Quoted for si1foo...
Frogboy just said he is harassing GPG with exactly what you are asking him to do in the next post
Though i do agree with si on the mod tools things. I'd rather have those out and see what the community comes up with. Probably faster, and doesnt cast SD or GPG a thing.
i bet when the mod tools come out i bet half the community will make 3 demis in the fucking time it takes GPG to make 1
Perhaps in the long run, that will happen, but that's only because the community does not have budget nor time constraints. Can't you be more patient with them already? Being so unkind with words won't speed up the process.
neither will being kind. the team has clearly moved on to another game and Demigod is getting less and less support, probably ending entirely with the 2 DemiGods and only then because it was already promised.
It's hard to expect any appreciable level of patience when we've heard next to nothing on the subject for nearly a month now (and very little on 'this' subject prior to that). I mean, really... even if a release date can't be delivered, something of substance to highlight that they're actually working on it would go a long way, I think (i.e. concepts and such).
And yes, I appreciate that SD is playing the bulldog on this. I can't wait for the mod community to get an active hold of this project, though.
Vital tools are missing, can't import models atm.
Decent price for two Demiods (without the next 2 that should be free), but maps should be come out for free.
I think also that there should be a Demigods limit for this game. I don't want to see morethan 16 Demigods.
No reason to be ass.
A person in the commity has the abilty to devote endless amoutn of hours to it; while GPG has mroe then just one aprt of the game; much less just this game alone.
