Well... seeing as I apparently have lots of time to post while I wait for a disconnect, here we go. I'm at the load screen for pantheon. I get a hard crash... the new magical crash that doesn't leave any dialog boxes occurs (I posted on this in bugs with logs previously). Anyway, I now have the invalid login issue. Presumably, the game still thinks I'm logged in and is denying access when I try to login again.
Stardock - can you ellaborate on what the time outs are? If the above occurs, how long do I have to wait until the system realizes I'm not connected? Is there anything in the works that might resolve this or will it always be an auto-timeout issue?
Update:
Just to clarify - this post was about the outage that lasted approximately 13 hours where regardless what you did, you could not log back in. Per Frogboy, the issue was caused by their ISP doing some maintenance without informing them. If the ISP had not been doing maintenance, then perhaps this would have been very similar to the invalid username/password issue that many have encountered in the past.
Anyway, SD let us know what happened and the 13 hour lockout is over.
Hell, I can't log in at all and didn't crash.
Just got hit by that bug as well... hard to believe it hasn't been fixed yet and i didn't even crash... just logged out, got some coffee, can't get back on for hours now lol.
I can't log in after mem-leak crash either...
that worked for me.
Didn't play a game tho.
It's working for me again now. Didn't do anything to fix it. Custom Game list is also back to norm.
hey - about 13 hours later, I can log in again. I wonder why? At least I can log in again though... anyone else find that this issue is now resolved?
If anyone is still having issues, see over here - http://forums.demigodthegame.com/355330
I personally think Stardock did something between 11:30am-12:30am ET today to resolve the issue, but this guy thinks he might have the trick... and there is some info from SD tech support in the thread.
SD - any info on what happened and how it was fixed?
Apparently the datacenter ISP decided to do an unscheduled maintenance in the early hours today. Nothing we could do about it since they didn't bother to tell us they were doing it.
Aren't there backup servers from another isp?
ugh... I just saw that in a post from frogboy on chat. I really do appreciate the update. That sucks! Not much you can do about that garbage.
This has happened to me multiple times, since I first got the game. Usually, I just wait about 5 minutes, then try to log in again, and it works fine. I'm guessing it has something to do with the game thinking your still online (because of the crash), so when you try to log in agian, you can't, because it thinks "you" are already still online.
just get a life freek
sure its annoying if something isnt working as intended, but, its just a game, and how i said, in general its playable and much better than most other games ._.
so let them time fixing it. they will. and stop being a nerdy victim whining like a 3year old whos toys are broken. my acc isnt working too... but my life doesnt depend on a game that much ...
sry for language :>
lov ya all
cant login , always "invalid username/password"...
i try to re register my demigod product (on the same account) and the following message appears "your serial of demigod is not an active validation" or something like that...
i try with a friend account to register the game with his serial, and its work (he dont have the login password bug)
anyone who have ths login/password bug could try to re register your demigod product ?
i get this problem after the game crashes too. Always resolves after waiting about 2 minutes

i did it and im waiting...
Adding my name to this list you bag of f*cks! Get your heads out of your asses and fix your sh*t that never should have went to market. How do you even have the AUDACITY to release such a hodge podge of programming and poor ... *sigh* ... I'm too angry to think. Stardock you are a piece of sh*t.
From what I've heard from Stardock, the outtage occurred because their ISP did unscheduled maintainence and did not notify them. So, that crap is hardly their fault. You could address there not being enough redundancy or "worst case" scenario planning, but it is what it is. Please start your own "sd suck mah balls" thread if you feel the need. The specific issue regarding this thread (which I opened) has been resolved as indicated in the 1st post.
I just got this problem just now. After game froze at loading screen in Pantheon. I tried deleting game.pref already and didnt help at all. Please advice.
Drop us an email at support@stardock.com and we'll try to get you squared away.
lol wtf retard
FIX FOUND --- NOT DELETING PREFS
i reinstalled impulse and that worked, hopw this helps
WTF? the game crashes itself and then won't let you play? Do they simply want to punish people that quit midgame? If they do it's a sad way of doing it, it's far more likely the game will crash than you will actually leave a game.
