I had my cheap old mouse die on me in the middle of a demigod game which lead to and interesting scramble for an alternative before the otherside killed me. Miraculously, I didn't die. Anyhow, I ended up buying a MS Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 since it was 50% off. It took me a while to adjust to the new mouse. I ended up disabling a few of the features to turn it into a basic 3 button mouse + scroll wheel. That got me wondering what kind of mice other people use for gaming and what mouse button and scroll wheel settings they use.
So I'm asking you guys, which mice do you use and what configuration settings do you have set?
A crap one... if I gamed, but I don't.. however.. this mouse is still crap
The kind that squeaks if you squeeze too hard. In other words I use what's available. You know...the one with the really long tail, short tiny feet long snout with lots of whiskers type thing.
I use a Razer mouse. I don't remember the exact model off the top of my head though, I'll check it later at home.

It's pretty nice. It's smaller so it fits better under the palm and it's comfortable. One of the coolest things about it is that you can adjust the sensitivity on the fly with the mouse buttons.
Speaking of buttons, it doesn't go crazy with them. I just use the left/right and mouse wheel really (there's a back/forward for web navigation too). The third mouse button is a press on the wheel, which is also convenient in some cases, but sometimes the wheel can rotate a little if you're sloppy with the press.
G9 w/ precision grip on a razer exactmat.
Any Logitech mouse is great.
I use a $40 Logitech mouse, one of those wonderful ones which fits to your hand. It manages to fend off hand pain in all but Mount and Blade. Shooting horseman from on a horse with a bow and arrow requires very fine hand mvoements which hurt after only a few hours...
Razer Lachesis (4000 dpi)
You think yours is dead? Before mine died it was a Logitech MX Revolution.
Take a look at mine:
Logitech MX518.
I use a KTEC-6500 (costs around 15 to 20 euro only but is hard to get). I love small, very light mice with no fluff. Only backdraw of this mouse is the not so good mousewheel but I got used to it. Generally if you play a lot of RTS you should get a small and light mouse - how small depends on your hand size of course. My brother uses the Logitech G1 which is a really nice mouse too.
Just as a sidenote, most korean starcraft progamers use the logitech optical mini nowadays. Most important thing of all is that the mouse feels good in your hand as you have set the correct sensitivity.
I have several, basic Logitech, basic Microsoft, Apple Mightymouse, Logitech G5 Laser, and a Razer Lachesis.
I also have a Razer exactmat
Logitech RX300, came with my keyboard, and my father has one that's lasted a few years now. Logitech = gods of the keyboards?
razer deathadder on a razer destructor pad.
I don't know, until they come up with one of these for cheap: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/keyboards-mice/9836/
And what it can do for a game: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/247/1/
My Trust optical wireless has been scurrying about without complaint from me or it for ages now. At 14 euro from my local supermarket, I would say it's the cat's pyjamas if it wasn't a rodent.
Right now I am using a Microsoft Wireless Lasor mouse. Not too bad....
Nerf! Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse is OP. I ban people from my games for using this exploit.
Logitech MX510, its lasted me years....I bought it when they first came out. I had a short stint with that MS licensed Razer mouse, but the cord went out on me in under a year, and I am not even that tough on mice.
