Unless you Denial-Of-Service'ed their internet connection to push them out of the game I don't really think you have anything to apologize for... it's not exactly your fault... unless they left from you killing them so much... in which case "Sorry" would be pretty patronizing... "Sorry for completely owning your teammate; couldn't help it".
Good sportman ship means fair play. It's not fairplay to play 3vs1 because of ragequitters. Just like it's not fairplay to play 5vs1 in ice hockey or some NHL team plays ice hockey against 12-year old girls team and crushes them all to hospital. GG has always meant fairplay, the only problem is that nowdays retards don't know what it means and how to use the term.
Don't bash the OP, he is right. Most players don't understand what GG means. If some retards farm AI and say GG at the end, it is an offence for players who know what GG really means.
So you have to be at fault to be sorry for something? I didn't make the person leave but I am still sorry they did, because we couldn't have a good game because of it.

If you don't want to sound fake, yeah. People say "I'm so sorry" when people pass away and stuff and it always sounds strange to me... You didn't do anything so don't apologize.... I understand where you're coming from with it not "really" being a good game, but keep in mind if someone on the losing team rage-quit halfway through the match it was probably because they were losing at the time, and given that you argue it is very hard to turn losing propositions around you'd probably have lost anyway... so gg.
Instead of "sorry" I'd rather say something like "rough game for you guys... sucks you had a dropper... better luck next time"... at least that way I can mean what I say.

It's possible. I have a screenshot of a victory with an 0-9 rage quit AI feeder Rook on my side with the other team completely outleveled, outdamage, outbuilding/flag/gold/favor/everything'd us, and we still beat them.
Also, I've had people on the WINNING side get spontaneously disconnected or server split. You can easily turn it around by feeding on the AI.
So "situation went from bad to worse" isn't the only thing that happens.
