This sounds pretty amazing, can't wait!
Update LOOK AT THIS VIDEO (note the demigod engine!)

Awesome! I totally cannot wait for this one. Just going to look forward to some gameplay videos now, and then keep saving up some money since I can only now run Supreme Commander 1 decently =P
Nice, I can't wait to see the new UEF experimental units. Hopefully they will either phase out or revamp that sad excuse for an experimental weapon the Novax suborbital defense satellite.
GPG games don't have great plots but I fear this one is going to be weaker then supcom 1 and FA. My predictions for supcom2 since we know QAI is still alive: QAI kills brackman, made it look like the UEF did, Aeon get drawn into the battle, QAI manages to give the Seraphim access to human space again, everyone finds out it was QAI to little to late.
Man why did you have to go ruin it all
lol! We'll just have to find out
Yeah, its crazy how cpu bound that game is. I run a overclocked quad core at 3.85ghz and when the unit #'s reach 1000+, the fps drops to ~30. Supcom and FA where greats games although its nearly the same as Total Annihilation and its expansions from back in the day.
I havent had slow down on sup com at all and I totly cant wait for this one. Idealy this time the game needs dimminishing returns on a lot of stuff to slow down the resorce imbalance currently made by the current game (he who plays sim city the best runs the game)
Omg, the AEON helmet rules all...
Just saw the video on gametrailers.com and i were shocked!!! they making a 2nd supcom... thats gonna be cool
Wanna see more of that beast/robot thing
and i really hope SD will publish it
QFFT
I dunno. I don't like the art and design style for some of the units. What the heck is with the robot with a mouth? Plus the Fatboy looks rediculous. Others, though, look fine. I like the arships so far.
Any economy changes could go either way, but the whole 'keeping a unit the entire game' things is intriguing. I'd like to see how they'll implement that.
Like your Avatar, loved Nexus.
And this game is gonna be awesome, period
Can't be a Square Enix game without a Red XIII in there somewhere.
BTW, where did you see the Fatboy?
The art style of the trailer is reminds me of the CGI animated Clone Wars of Star Wars. I hope that's not an indication of the look and feel of the game as I'm not entirely sure I dig that yet.
There's a lot of odd redesigns but hopefully they changed it to better accomodate the terrian. That's one of my cheif complaints of Supreme Commander, artillery parked on a hill doesn't shoot a bit farther or units don't slow down going up the hill so terrain doesn't factor much into the stragety.
I like the design of the terrorsaur looking bot, that has to be a Cybran unit since they like animalistic designs. Also, I seriously doubt if that is the fatboy it will look like that when supcom 2 launches.
Well hate to ruin this for you guys but see the 360 logo at the end? Something tells me it will be dumbbed down for the PC to make it run on the 360 (ganeplay wise). Atleast with Supreme commander 1 PC came out first and then awhile later they ported it to the 360
dw theyll release xbox 360 version after pc release, its a rts i mean comeon
It looks good. I seriously hope the Fatboy stays the crawling land battleship it was in SupCom1. Nothing is more awesome than seeing a Fatboy slowly crawling with some Titan Siege Bots to take care of swarms of annoying T1's and some flak tanks providing some anti-air. Not even a Galactic Colossus. I seriously hope it isn't some crappy console port either.
Well the 360 is a Moo$ (read cash cow)
Looking at that video again if you watch carefully at time 0:45 especially in HD when the three armies are converging you can see the Aeon army on the right with Galactic Colossuses, the Cybran army to the far left with those Terrorsaur bot things, and closest to the camera the UEF military with weird looking tanks which I fear are Fatboys.
if the game looks like the video and that the economy is chandged to be more user frendly all of the great stuff about supcom 1 has bean removed. the whole point was to make it realistic in a sense. but all of the new designs make the game feal more unrealistic and crappy think realistic design and functionality. if the units are upgradable like that the whole point of planning ahead and combining tropps is lost. the charm of supcom 1 was to master these diferent types of warfare with combinations of units. the economy modifications dossent help either the fact that the build speed chandes acording to the economy makes for less planning and unrealistic effects i would rather have the economy like in supcom 1 cause if you want higer production the awnser is not to produce more mass or energy the awnser is to build more factories. think real think good. before i saw the trailer i was exited about the sequal to the greatest rts of all times but now i am utterly disapointed. if gas powerd games continue like this this will be the end of RTS games. it is a classic example of trying to hard they do not care how the game ends upp they just wants it to look cool. and please fire the designers and employ civil enginers.
there is great potential in a sequal but the sucsess of the game as it lokks today is hardly profitable.
update, look at that video, im stoked now
The gameplay video certainly looked nice. I think the thing I'm loving most about it is the Demigod-like arenas, where you have a nice backdrop to the actual playable map. Seeing that citadel platform type thing where all the action is hovering high above mountains and some city down below is awesome.
Looks like it is totally aimed towards mp. i hope i am wrong.
Demigod's engine was based on an updated supcom engine. Now that engine has been further updated for supcom 2. It looks awesome and rather polished for such an early stage. I'm not so sure about the tech upgrades being purchased through research and battle though. Getting an upgrade through battle seems a bit suspicious to me.
