This sounds pretty amazing, can't wait!
Update LOOK AT THIS VIDEO (note the demigod engine!)

I loved Total Annihilation, and really enjoyed SupCom as well. Demigod is fun, and I like playing, but it's not a long lasting game for me. I hope the SupCom 2 stays more to it's roots than the latter.
The gameplay video killed a little of my excitement
Hurray for more cartoonie of a look
(And points from dmg in combat?...beh!)
You can actually do research through battle -OR- pay for it like you would normally expect.
I realized that but my concern is that if you can upgrade via battle points or whatever you could spend your resources on producing more units than someone who purchased research the good old fashioned way. In other words I'm concerned there won't be an incentive to purchase research with mass & energy.
Ditto, but replace little, with basically all.
I'm sorry, but compared to SupCom1 that gameplay video looks like crap. It looks like a Mod/TC of DemiGod, not SupCom2. SupCom's only problem was that it came out before technology could really let it shine. If it was released today for the 1st time, it would rock. That game was made for quad + core chips & beastly graphic cards. Throw it a nice 4ghz + OC'd i7 w/appropriate assisting hardware and you monitor would likely orgasm from the beauty it could display. (Let alone dual monitors... oh the hawtness)
Hopefully that video is not using near final models/maps/effects... because as it stands currently SupCom1 with all the bells and whistles makes that video looks like a McDonalds kids meal toy.
Don't even get my started on his Army crushing ACU concept... GAG, leave that crap in DemiGod.
I want so bad for SupCom2 to be amazing, and the trailer you posted makes it look like it is... but the gameplay footage is horrid if it is an actual representation.
I like what I have seen so far. If the Economy Management isn't as tedious as it was in SupCom 1 it will be a lot more fun.
