What are your "bad teamates" stories?
-I've had at least 3 or 4 regulus players who just stand at the health crystal using snipe the entire game, not even going out to farm creeps and staying at level 1
-I had a Sedna teamate that went "pure stats" and got no ability until level 7, at which point the game was already over
-I had an Erebus teamate that went a pure mist build. He would type "lol they fell for my mist" every time an enemy demigod (sometimes 2 or 3) was waiting to kill him when he came out of mist. He never once succeeded at killing an enemy demigod or actually escaping death. At the game's final moments he typed furiously to everyone that his teamates sucked and didn't do anything.
-ANYONE that claims their teamates suck before the end of the game. I mean, seriously, I think this way sometimes but I never call them out and act like a jerk
Anyone else have some funny stories?
It always brings a smile to my face when playing against an opponent who has a -3 simspeed and whines during the whole match how he would own us if it wasn't for the AIs. (His teammates left due to his horrendous lag).
I fought a fire TB the other day whose master plan was to charge into melee and use fire ring. Thing is, I play a pretty heavy mine regulus most of the time. I farmed kills on him endlessly, mostly because he'd charge in and fire ring, only to then turn and run through the mines that I would always drop right behind him EVERY TIME he did this. By the time I got shrapnel mines I didn't even have to try to kill him.
The best part was his ragequit line, however - "Man, I can't wait until snipe gets nerfed"
Back when I first started playing, I remember I read up on a eternal mist build for erebus, I knew it wasn't a great build, but I thought it might be fun to try out in a game (it worked rather well against the ai in single player..). I actually did well enough to get the gold to buy all the equipment I needed towards the end game and actually planted myself right infront of the enemy cit. I sat back and played a game on my ps3 while watching creeps get ground up, but it didnt work so well once the enemy got giants. Plus the enemy grabbed both our portals in the end and we lost.. still it was funny (at the time) to sit there in mist for over 5 minutes..
and yes, my teammates hated me (sorry)
3x3, cataract, I was a TB, another a Sedna AND an Erebus.
The Erebus guy had a brilliant strat, bat-swarm into 3 opposing DGs and mist.
He did that over and over again. He than waited there for the CD on batswarm clears and the got out of mist and batswarm to safety. Belive me, it was not once, or 5 times, it was all the time, every time. Funny as hell, he only died once or twice, at least not a feeder We won and it was funny tho... sometimes enfuriating.
"Dont cap the portal flag, farm the creep" /on ziggurat//had no other mid flags.///dominate
this.
although ive seen the others. i see this the most even among people who otherwise arent noobs.
This idea is bad on conquest too. just giving away tons of warscore in a game where its race to giants, i actually had teammates still refuse to capture those flags while standing near them when we started to get over run by thier monsters.
happens all the time on leviathian.
also the every man for himself syndrome a lot of players suffer from. where team mates will just bolt for it while they are at full health or run right by you while you are 1vs1ing another demigod instead of in the very least covering your retreat.
which very few people understand the concept of cover fire, just as long as they survive they think they did a good job.
otherwise for noob builds the most common i see are;
low hitpoint builds.
regulus who always use up thier snipe when the enemy is right in front of them for no apparent reason.
slow ass rooks who think its thier job to lumber into the middle of the enemy base and start wailing on the towers.
I played a game where they had a Reg who continuosly fed our Erebus. Towards the middle of the game, the guy shouted "YEAH YEAH, I get the the vamp is OP," at which point I said, "Hes not OP just cus hes killing you." The guy then proceded to yell at me for bossing him around and rage quit.
I had a teammate that didnt seem to good and from what i see was failing a TB. He chose to talk shit about my play style (charm is good; but in my book i dont get it til around lvl 10 or 11; then the kills are starting to be of good vaule).
After enuff of his "talk". I decided to jsut sit at the crystal. People may not like that. Ate the loss but w/e. I saw he did feed them quite a bit befor ei went afk for 20mins.
so your saying someone hurt your feelings and offended your sensibilities in demigod the video game so you decided to give up? this thread was supposed to be making fun of OTHER people not yourself :/
I still love the people who do the dumb things that keep them from lvling while still actually trying to play.
Had a reg i was playing against in cat that decided he wasn't going to let my rook get to the towers at his teams gold mine. So i put a tower right outside of the range and he auto attacked it down while i killed the creep wave coming from the mid, then walk back put another tower down as he's about to drop the last one and go back to the creeps. Good idea unless you do it til your 2 or 3 lvls behind everyone else in the game and it takes your other 2 teamates to come over to finally catch me and kill me, still wondering how long he would have stayed backed in his own corner of the map.
And my other favorite also on cat is seeing your 2 teammates take the exp flag in the middle and then start to head to a lane but someone on the other team heads mid and they go and defend it. Then they repeat that over and over again now i'm in a game that i'm lvl 4 with 2 lvl 1 teammates i know they want the extra exp from the flag but it dosen't do u any good if your not killiing anything.
I played a game on Cruicible a while back. I was Rook, and my team mates were another Rook and a Reg. I figured this was going to be an easy as pie match, however our Reg sat at the Health Crystal, waiting for the enemy to be a Snipe away from Death and then kill steal with Snipe. Now, this would be an acceptable tactic if he had of filled us in on what was going on - and if it was needed. None of the enemies were stacking speed and our towers were just destroying everything - if he wasn't sniping them, we'd be getting greater Gold and XP rewards and would be able to finish the game faster. We were still being awarded the assist Gold and XP, however he was really doing nothing and I had to mention it after the 5th kill. Now, to his credit, my Rook team mate just stayed quiet the whole match and in hindsight I should have too - but the Reg then begins his rant about how I understand nothing about Team Work - he was using the Gold from the kills to upgrade himself and had purchased no Citadel upgrades (my fellow Rook took the award for Upgrades; he bought the only one). I mentioned he was now, I think, 4 levels behind us because he had zero creep kills, and that was it - he opened the flood gates and came every complaint possible. He spent the rest of the game behind our nice little wall of towers as we edged towards the enemy base (who had all raged quit, I might add) just going on and on about children in video games and how Microsoft had ruined online games by brining children into the action with Xbox Live. I didn't say another word until it was time to say "GG" and then I left without another word.
I recently had a match with a person I'll call, the Statbearer. All stats and fireball. Need I say more?
LOL at the Cruicible
Gotta go ahead and disagree with this one. A: If you're playing reg right snipe mana is not a problem, B: If you're capping as reg that means your lane is clear for now, so time's not an issue, C: I've seen plenty of players retreat from a flag cap because they got sniped, the damage isn't much but the expectation seems to be that there's a DG coming if you get hit with any damage.
I've been lucky enough not to see many bad players online, though I have had a suicide oak teammate before (thankfully by the time he was high enough level to get last stand the game was already pretty much won, so his feeding didn't hurt our team too bad). Reading some of these stories makes me glad I've never had teammates that bad, but also sad because it seems like it would be quite amusing .
Did have one dumb enemy player once, playing as tower rook they would charge into near melee combat as torch before attacking, managed to get a few kills off him in the early game without boulder roll or chasing, which was rather sad.
Actually, if you took Heaven's Wrath (a perfectly viable item on Regulus, as it lends itself both to sniping and massivewtffarming, your mana might be tight for some time to come.
