Would like to share some thoughts on a demigod I've been thinking about for some time.
Name: The Devourer(Other name suggestions welcome!)
Type: General
Appearence: Not quite sure about this one. Imagined a somewhat fat beast walking on two feet with a large tongue switching between hanging from its mouth and being curled up inside its mouth. Could be something like this:

Summary: Is able to swallow minions to gain certain benifits on the battlefield, while digesting the enemy. Being able to swallow enemy minions and friendly minions grants an interesting and different use of a minion. This would also allow him to swallow his own minions, which could be something like a "Vitamin slug" or a "Booster leech". Booth of theese minions(ideas) could grant some special effect if swallowed by "The Devourer".
Abilities:
Swallow: Swallows a minion/demigod using X amount of time to digest it. (Digestion time depends on the health of the minion/demigod)
Vomit: Exhales a swallowed minion dealing damage to an area and grants damage over a set amount of time to the units hit by the initial attack.
Accelerated methabolism: Increase movement speed, but speeds up the digestion. (Can only be used while having swallowed a minion.)
Drool: Drenches an area drool dropping the movement speed and defense of the targeted units.
Multi stomach(passive): Allows "The Devourer" to swallow more than one minion at a time.
Mark of the tongue: Licks a targeted enemy with its tongue giving the enemy a mark, which add some bonus damage if the user attacks the marked enemy.
Belly drop(passive): Grants x amount of % to perform a special belly drop attack, which deals extra damage and stuns sorrounding units.
Long spit: Shoots a lob of spit, which is able to hit enemies from a distance, dealing a little damage.
Insta-morph: Completely digests a swallowed minion granting health and increase health regeneration for a set amount of time.
These are some of the initial ideas. Since I am not sure about amount of damage, time... I leave this one to some players, who may have a better understanding of how much boost or damage some abilities should grant. Should this turns out to be a great idea for a demigod, then I might post a more precise version of it, with actual times and percentages. But remember, I am always open to suggestions.
Background story:
As the clashes of the pantheon cries from the violent skies another demigod lies dormant in the moist pitchblack swamps. A battle only available to the descendants of the "The Progenitor", but even though the noises roam loud and clear to it.
Long before the struggle of the pantheon began, long before the human race was created, "The Progenitor" took notice of the first entities to walk a distant realm. These beings, created from the primordial soup, were the first beings to walk the earth. Despite their primitive behaviour, consisting of walking around and messing with their body fluids, he found a certain affection towards them. After all, he was the one who created them with the use of the primordial soup. Starting out as an experiment in the capabilities of his power to create life, he soon realized, that these creatures were no longer just an experiment to him.
Gaining humans emotions towards such simple creatures could never be tolerated in the realm of the gods, which forced him to shroud their realm and their existence from the remaining gods. And thus he continued for several years until a brilliant thought struck him. Executing his new plan was no easy task. Increasing their intelligence, making them into faithfull believers of the gods were certainly no easy task. But such a thought never struck him, and he started to further use his power to evolve them. And so he did.
Another year passed, the creatures evolved, becoming more intelligent, stronger and more dedicated to the god with each passing generation. But to him it was never enough, always a litlle flaw, always a bit weaker than what he had hoped for. Becoming more and more frustrated with his experiments he decided to use the primordial soup once more in an effort to make these creatures the ultimate worshippers. But despite his efforts, every newborn of the ultimate generation quicly passed away before ever reaching maturity, except one little child.
"The Progenitor" raised his arms in triumphant victory only to be shocked by what was about to happen. As the child reached maturity and continued to grow he started to wonder. The wondering soon stopped as the childs skin turned, his body deformed, a tail grew and his fomerly peacefull smile turned into a ferocious sadistic smile filled with hunger. "The Progenitor" could do nothing as his perfect creation swalloed, digested and corropted every single one of his tribemen turning them into slugs and leeches. And as the last one was swallowed "The Progenitor" soon realized, that with every consumed life the beast had gained strength making it a demigod. Such an abuse of power would never be tolerated among the other gods, therfore he decided to break the must important law of a god, to never act outside of the realm of the gods.
Standing before the beast he discovered, that he couldn't destroy without the other gods knowing, which forced him to throw it back to its place of origin, the primordial soup, where it would slumber for eternity. Millenias passed and the beast was forgotten by its own creator, but despite being a castaway it too was demigod and a descendant of "The Progenitor". And as the clashes of the pantheon raged, it too could hear the call of a new god. And despite the millenias passed, and the changed enviroment, it too rose from the swamp once again smiling its ferocious smile and become a god.
Hope it's not too similar to the unclean beast and hope you're gonna like it. And remember: FEEDBACK PLEASE!

but i don´t like the spit skill , it´s like a copy of the unclean beast.
it would be better if he get a skill which u can controll the minions of your opponent .
very nice idea... for creativity.
that being said thou some changes are probably needed because yes, he is very very similar to Unclean Beast. the other problem is that most of the skills all build one each other, which makes perfect sense for games like dota but not so much Demigod. in Demigod DG's have an array of abilities that can be combined to create diffnt build. for example rook has defensive build (tower+absorb) or offensive (hammer + tower) or anti DG (hammer + bolder) etc etc. so with your idea most of the spells are dependednt on swallow which is fine but doesn't allow for more offensive/defensive builds.
to solve this i think it would be best to have three seperate abilites and then 3 or 4 more supportive abilites. imo i think it should be like this:
under these abilites you have say 1 or 2 additional support abilities:
this way diffrent buiold can be adapted depending on the situation.
these are just suggestions. also try get rid of saliva based range attacks since this basicly screams UB rip off. but apart from that love the core idea and the pic from FFXII is an awesome visualizer.
on a side note you might want to check out DocterAwesome's idea for Umbra (a blob monster) becuase the share some miliarities and might inspire you a bit.
New Demigod Idea: Umbra
Before saying anything I will remind you, that this is my first demigod idea. Futhermore I still don't own demigod since I live in Europe and therefore don't know that much about the builds of each demigod(Could of course have done some better research on the different demigods). But I took your advice, looked at Umbra and decided to split the skills into three different skill trees consisting .
Swallow:
Swallow(primary skill): Swallows a minion/demigod using X amount of time to digest it. (Digestion time depends on the health of the minion)
Insta-nurish: Completely digests a swallowed minion granting health and increase health regeneration for a set amount of time.
Stomach combustion: Completely digests a swallowed minion, granting it a powerful boost to attack strength.
Tongue slash:
Tongue slash(primary skill): Deals heavy damage to a single opponent.
Tongue whip(Passive): Grants X% chance, that "Tongue slash" will also stun the opponent.
Mark of the tongue: Grants a mark to a targeted enemy , which add some bonus damage if the user attacks the marked enemy.
Saliva bomb: Drops a bomb of saliva on a small area dealing damage and reducing defense
Famine: Immobilizes an opponent for a set amount of time.
Drool:
Drool: Drenches an area drool dropping the movement speed and defense of the targeted units. The drool caused by this ability will stay on field for a set amount of time.
Sticky drool(passive): Increases the effect of drool.
Acid rain: Spits out stomach acid in a selected area, heavily lowering the defense of targeted units. Like "drool", the area will be infected causing damage to units, who walk in, that area.
Infestation: Creates a swampy area on the battlefield granting a boost to The Devourer and his minions special minions, while decreasing the movement speed of any other minion(including friendly) and demigod.
Reverse fume: Converts any buff effect inflicted on any demigod/minion into the reversed form. (+2 becomes -2)
Might come up with some more suggestions. But this is a start towards an actual demigod built. Hope you like the changes, and remember: FEEDBACK!

So.... wait, he can just swallow an enemy demigod and win that way?
Nope, wanted him to be able to swallow demigods at first. But decided to trash, that idea since it would be way too OP. Have considered him being able to swallow enemy demigods if they have lost a certain percentage of their max HP. But right now it's ONLY MINIONS.
You should just call him Kirby
After finally receiving my own copy of Demigod I got to try the game and the differnet demigods. When I saw the skill trees of the demigod I was rather surprised. Instead of having lots of different abilities they mainly consisted of four "active" abilities and a lot of "passive" abillities. This gave me a serious headache since I have been focusing on adding a lot of different abilities instead of a few concentrated ones. So I sat down and started thinking about the core concept of the character and started coming up with a more fucused build of the devourer.
Here is how it turned out.
Swallow: Swallows a minion, while gaining x% of own max HP.
Feeding frenzy(Passive): As the devourer swallows a minion he enters a state of frenzy increasing his damage.
Accelerated methabolism(passive): Increase HP regeneration and movement speed, while having a minion in your stomach.
Vomit: Exhales a swallowed minion dealing damage to an area, while reducing amour of the stroken enemies.
Bouncing beely(passive): Greatly reduces damage taken, while having a minion in your stomach. If you are not having a minion in the stomach MP will be drained to reduce damage.
Tongue slash: Deals hevy damage to a single opponent.
Tongue whip(passive): Grants x% chance of stunning the opponent with tongue slash.
Mark of the tongue(passive): Licks a targeted enemy with its tongue giving the enemy a mark, which add some bonus damage if the user attacks the marked enemy, also increases the effect of Tongue whip and tongue slash.
Drool: Drenches an area in drool decreasing armour and weapon damage of all targets(Except the devorer and his special minions.)
Sticky drool(passive): Reduces movement speed of units hit by drool. Also leaves the pool of drool to cause movement spped reduction to anyone who steps on it. (Does not include devourer and his special minions.)
Corruption(passive): Causes the devourers attack to corrupt enemies granting x% of turning them into "special minions", when destroyed. Also increases total amount of special minion the devourer is able to control and how many special minion he will gain by killing one minion/demigod.
Slimy instinct(passive): Grants a slight chance, that enemies becoming special minions will release a pool of drool, when dying. The drool released will be weaker than the drool skill but with same affect. But it will also increase movement speed attack speed of the special minions.
Heres how the skill tree could look like:
Swallow I -> Swallow II -> Swallow III -> Swallow IV -> Feeding frenzy
Accelerated Methabolism I -> AM II -> AM III -> Boncing belly
Vomit I -> Vomit II -> Vomit III
Tongue slash I -> Tongue slash II -> Tongue slash III -> Tongue whip
Mark of the tongue I -> MotT II
Drool I -> Drool II -> Drool III -> Drool IV -> Sticky drool
Corruption I -> Corruption II -> Corroption III -> Corruption IV -> Slimy instinct

Special minion
Booster slug:
The vitamin slug is actually quite weak and are only to be feared when faced against a great number of theese. Their movement speed and attack speed is quite slow, but they can decrease armour of enemy minions and demigods. Last but not least, they "Boost" the effectiveness of Swallow, Accelerated methabolism and vomit making them ideal as a quick snack for the devourer.
Since the creating part is over(unless somebody has some suggestions) we have reached the point, where I am no longer any help. Since I am not very good at balancing a demigod, or coming up with any stats at all. Then this is the time where any person, who knows how to do this may want to bud in. Imagined him with high HP but low/medium armour, but the choice is yours.
This is the time to seriously bring on the feedback.

Would be cool say if u swallow a minion and some how say if u vomited it out woould shoot a slug thing at ur enemy as if the minion was corupted inside his stomach, as a way of getting ur minions and of getting them to attack other DG.

Each demigod gets somewhere around 8 diff abilties and 4 main ones like reg for expample ( mines, mark of betrayer, angelic fury, snipe)
