If you find someone in game behaving utterly horrible, feel free to take a screenshot and post it here.
you need to calm down man!
ive played many games with/against you and imo you need to settle alittle and just play, besides, you play alot better when you arent raging at silly things
I go so far as to extend the hall of shame to individuals displaying poor sportsmanship. Telling a person after they beat you that they should have quit the game… that they should “go read forums” and “learn about other aspects before you cry…,” strikes me as being a poor loser. Of course, we have 1 screenshot that shows ONLY the text I referenced. I think you both explained yourselves fairly well and I really doubt that sort of behavior is common for you. It sounds like you were simply frustrated and vented. I’d hope that anyone that took the time to read your exchange with Zed would certainly NOT see you as a player to avoid.
But.....but.....you ARE a premade.
Yes I was pretty frustrated and that is partially to blame for what can be seen as being a sore loser... To lose to AI and to some smug little Sedna who was crying premade just brought the worst out in me I guess.. thats what it is, the worst... Hall of shame worthy?.. doubtful
I'm quite vocal in games, and yes im pretty opinionated... I like having my voice heard, as far as "settling down" goes, i'm pretty settled most of the time. Its peoples interpretations of what I say and how I say it that is the problem... I experimented once.. basically saying the same comments like "omg stop feeding", and "omg stop feeding " - the smiley face one ppl just take it as normal conversation, the one without the smiley face people take the wrong way and call it "bitching" or "raging". well its the SAME SHIT. Stop taking me the wrong way and seeing the worst in everything I say... Pretend there is a smiley face after everything I say and then you will understand
Hi,
I am very surprised that I have made it into the "HALL OF SHAME". I have been playing this since well before the launch of Demigod in New Zealand & Australia. I have spread the word, have introduced other people into the game, I have helped many many newbies out to help make this game more competitive.
Yeah, out of context there buddy. I said "Maybe" then immediately after that I said "You guys were winning until now, ill give you that". Seriously, how would any of us actually know how it would have turned out without the disconnect?
Im on the same page as Captain when it comes to "premades", Ive never even heard that used before in gaming, untill roughly halfway through my time playing Demigod. One thing I would really like to see is a consensus on what "Premade" really is, ive seen so many different explanations. I personally dont mind if I lose a game, even if it is to a premade team, it helps me improve my Demigod skills. It seems to me that some people are just a little to scared to lose a game. I find that quite sad.
I am very disappointed in you Primal Zed, I am a resonable person, I conceded that you were winning, not long before the game ended I even said "this is actually quite fun for an AI game", at the end of the game I said nothing more than "GG", but i suppose you conveniently forgot all of that to justify making your post, that shows a lot about your character.
Peace out
In World of Warcraft 'premades' were groups of people who joined together BEFORE a battleground queue started. They would then enter the battleground as a 'team'. Didn't matter if they were on voice or not but many times they were.
In Demigod a premade has come to mean when 2 or more individuals who know each other or have played a lot together join into the very same game, whether they are on voice or not. They have basically become a 'team'. And it was decided before the match started that they would join the same game as a team.
So, following your logic, you think the following situation is justified:
Someone hosts a 5v5 game, two noobs who just bought the game and want to try out this new demigod thingy join it. They occupy two spots on the forces of darkness. The whole forces of light side starts crying premade solely because of those two noobs.
Is this true?
I hate to say it but based off of this comment:
it seems like Warbirdd is partially to blame for the whole 'premade' fiasco in this game. Warbirdd's played with these guys before so he knew going in that his own team was at least partially or fully (depending on how you want to look at it) a premade. And yet he titled the match with NOT PREMADE in it.
Please don't drag warbirdd into this.. He hosted the game by himself and had no idea we were going to join. And, being the nice host that he is, didn't kick us.. thats all. I notice you conveniently didn't answer my question by the way (6 minute post difference so maybe your a really slow typer which is fine)... However can you answer the following please?
The following are examples of 'premades':
I'm not 'justifying' anything. I simply gave an acceptable definition of what a 'premade' is. The situation you mention most likely wouldn't happen because the forces of light would most likely wipe the floor with the forces of darkness because of the two noobs.
YOUR situation is much different because you two have been playing since launch or even before launch and probably browse the forums from time to time and so have seen all the 'premade' threads here and people screaming about it. So, joining a game that says NOT PREMADE even though you ARE a premade (in a 3v3 no less) is pretty sad.
okay. just a yes or no answer will do thanks.
The reason I ask is that I would like a solid concrete, specific definition of a premade please... yours is the only definition I have at the moment. I'll search the forums for "premade" soon to see if there are any others..
Entropy - there are quite a few premade blah blah threads going on. Sadly, I really don't think there is a clear consensus on the definition. Some say if you have a group of X people that you play with regularly as a team and use voice chat, you are a premade. Some say if you are doing voice chat, you are a premade. Others say if you've played on the same team as someone before, you are premade (there's a Jeff Foxworthy joke in here somewhere). Some say if you are premade, you should say in the game title. Others go so far as to put NOT A PREMADE in the title. If I take my premade team of 3 people and host a 5v5 game, is that still a premade? On one side, my team would probably have some advantage with 3 of us familiar with working together, but the other 2 puggers on the team could be terrible and even manage to cost us the game. Would I label a game like that 5v5 Premade? Nope. Because its not a full team of 5 and there aren't that many 3PM+2Pug v 3PM+2PUG games out there. Other's might call that a premade. All of that said, if a game says NOT A PREMADE, I generally avoid those games if I'm playing with my team.
I congratulated Zed for his win because he was obviously playing a skilled team and he pulled out the win with the rook AI on his side - I would find that extremely challenging and I'm sure many can relate. I felt like the comments you made weren't very sporting (from the screenshot) which we've already addressed. The whole premade thing is another bag of worms. One guy would say you should be in the hall of shame for joining a NOT A PREMADE game with your buddy. Another would not.
I wouldn't sweat it all that much, though. Remember the guy from page 4 of this thread?
Spooky - Reply 205 is awesome.
Here's a good place to start:

I generally go by Melric's definition at the end. It also answers the hypothetical situation you proposed.
I didn't read the rest of this page, I'll just start by responding to Cap'n's first post.
You are likely right that the d/c was after 5 minutes. I didn't really give too much thought into what time it might have been, and probably inadvertently embellished the number. I just remember thinking that it was too bad it was already past the 3 minute mark where quitting is not held against a person. Either way, it was still early game. I would say no higher than level 8. I know it wasn't nearly late enough in the game for the player to have enough items to get the 6k+ health I noticed the AI had later on.
Whether or not the term 'premade' should exist at all does not pertain to this discussion. If you want to dig through my post history you would find comments I have made indicating that I don't have anything against premades at all. However, the term does exist, and you knowingly entered into a match that explicitly promised there will be no premades. This is fundamentally dishonest and is one reason I felt moved to post this in the Hall of Shame. (You even lament about the inability to "communicate vocally" while there was a visitor in your office, which imo is 2/3 of the advantage to being a premade, the other 1/3 coming from being familiar with the play styles of your teammates in order to better work in tandem.)
I want to reiterate that I did not complain about facing a premade. I knew before the game started that Warbirdd had played a couple games with you two and did not care, because a couple games does not make a premade in my book. If the match title did not mention premades and I found out in the course of the match that you are, I would not have cared.
I am not inhibiting your freedom of speech in any way by posting a screenshot in this thread.
The fact that you are trying to defend swearing, even though I did not mention it at all in any of my posts or in game, seems to suggest you feel it could be construed as inappropriate. If that is the case, wouldn't it be better if you didn't swear so liberally? (Though I honestly have no problem with swearing.)
I feel you were eligible for the Hall of Shame for two reasons:
1) Demanding that a team which has a teammate leave the match for any reason should concede, and then reiterating that the demand should have been met after the team in question won.
2) Joining a match that specified there should be no premades in the title when you knew that most people would consider you and TowelOfDoom a premade.
I am offended that you would somehow gather from these posts that I was trying to "show off". Am I proud of the win? Yes. However, I feel that all of my posts were sufficiently neutral and humble in that regard. I posted in another thread after receiving a compliment there (the thread about 'not being a donkey' - I realized after making the post here that the situation applied perfectly to the topic in that thread) that I did not expect to receive compliments about the match. I have no relationship with any of these people that have given me compliments with the possible exception of Pavlov, with whom I have had a few short off-topic conversations with. They are most definitely not my "fanboys". I also have no control over the way people reacted to my post. I did not ask for nor did I expect compliments.
Now to read the rest of the thread and see if there is anything else to respond to.
edit: Holy wall of text! Fixed that up
will reply soon
You brought up the fact we were a premade, thats why I called you noob: because I don't believe that we are a "premade" in the way that is worth mentioning. That why I thought I was in the hall of shame, for calling you noob. I see now, that it is because of my understanding of the term "premade" that has put me here. The game said "no premades" or whatever. well I don't consider two people who play together as being a premade so I joined. If it was a 2v2 no premade, I probably wouldn't have joined just to avoid any doubt...
Point is, I wasn't sitting there with towel and warbird before the game, rubbing my hands together saying "lets call the game no premades so we can own some nubs" NO, that didn't happen. Yet thats what you are implying.. So it would seem, unless every player out there, gets a VERY CLEAR AND ACCEPTED ACROSS THE BOARD BY EVERYONE definition of what a premade is, this hall of shame thing can happen to anyone at anytime...
Basically, I dont think we were a premade, hence I don't see how this hall of shame thing is justified. Someone or something has to come in and clearly define what a premade is so we can all get over it...
So this is the definition you like Charvel1?? Seems pretty good...
So let me get this straight... Two noobs just bought the game about a week ago, they play a few games together and are horrible... They don't know each other that well. They are not on voice chat. They are bad. Edit: They join a 5v5 game.
So in your mind, these guys are a premade right?
Imho Captain_Entropy's place in the Hall of Shame is unjustified. At least for the case being shown here.
Thank you, there is some sanity in the world
Edit: added quote
I do not consider that 3 person team to be a premade. Simple as that. Are you trying to tell me it is? If so, I would like references to a generic, consensual understanding of what EXACTLY constitutes a premade. If you can do this I will change my behaviour in future if the same situation arises and admit, that IN HIND SIGHT, I should've said something at the time..
