Yeah, I said it.
GPG is crossing a horrendous threshold. I am probably over-stepping myself by discounting how balanced the game is despite this retarded update, but they have thoroughly earned it.
Typically, a game creator would wait for the game to play out, and for GOOD players to actually play and provide grounds from which GPG can make conclusive changes to the balance that are logical, and tone down overused demigods in popular setups. In this light, the balance trickles down to public games with random pugs. Mind you, the balance, CAN not trickle upwards. Water flows in one direction, just like the balance; You can't tweak two sides and expect no negative result on the opposite end.
But instead, GPG ignorantly reads the forums in a three week old game, and appease the retarded masses of whiners that have been rampaging the forums with their crying over demigods that in their five games of playing experience, they think are over-powered. Only because they have no freaking idea how to play this game, and have no idea how to use logic and reason to out-play someone, do they resort to coming to these forums, determined that is infact a fault of the game, and not they themselves that they are losing. And because of this, GPG nerfs erebus. STRAIGHT from every thread, using the flawed logic of literal, newbies, to make a balance change.
And because GPG isn't making the balance changes, but implementing them based on the community, I can make a direct assumption that GPG itself is retarded as well. Not only are the players ignorant, but GPG themselves decided to neglect every other factor that plays a significant role in how flawed the 'opinions' of the whiners are. GPG neglected to account for the fact that this isn't a 1v1 game. Funny, they made it. They're pretty stupid. They forgot to account for the fact that two demigods can't be compared back to back only by one single skill. Best of all, they completely neglect the fact that every single person CRYING on these forums are ignorant pugs fresh from random custom games, pantheon matches, and random gameranger games, playing with people of varied skill and absolutely no inherent teamwork. Very likely little intelligence and skill either. We can't assume everyone is the same because theres no organization, which fundamentally cripples the teamwork of a teamwork game. And they take all of this, and make a balance change, like a surgeon using a hatchet to operate in a black room with a spinning table.
Keep crying guys, GPG will bend over and follow your every command. We all know, that the random pug knows the balance better than GPG itself, or the actual good players.
And before you CLEVER little whiners try to decipher why I am spearheading this debate, I have played Erebus five times total, and I am quite terrible at him. The direct relationship between his strength and myself are irrelevent.
I find the title of this post waay out of line. Its in your right to be mad at a nerf but you could do it in a more proper way.
Give it some time to see its effect it will have, if its too bad they will of course up him again
I overestimated a bit, but I was referring to the SPIKE in DPS when rook lands his slam (and its very easy for a team to coordinate stuns for a rook to land one.) I'll add it up for you, assuming the rook is level 10 with no items.
Slam: 1700 damage | 1700
Arrows: 60 damage | 1760
Shoulder tower: 100 damage | 1860
Raised tower: 100 damage | 1960
Trebuchet: 200 damage | 2160
One auto-attack: 320 damage | 2480
This all assuming he didn't roll or auto attack anymore to add the DPS between two seconds, which would top total damage beyond 3k within 2 seconds. That means a dead erebus, even when you count 600-900 more health for him, 600-900 less for rook, his auto attack combined with his tower and arrows will easily split the difference. Even with minions wailing on rook, and assuming he took a single stun, this is only one second of damage, which is enough to obliterate an Erebus.
As you well know proving facts or having a philosophical debate over what is a fact or how we should define them won't really get us anywhere. I believe you should show some respect to those communicating with you.
When we played last, we never played your setup before to the level you did. Like I said man, we lost from the beginning. I don't know how to play erebus, and we picked a really unstable setup that didn't counter. If I had played a demigod I knew how to micro-manage properly, along with a support demigod for stability, it'd have gone much different. You also never want to re-match, so you assume what you will. I know my mistakes, and I've long ago learned from them.
I was being REALLY generous with that number. ESL had very polarized levels of skill, and pantheon/custom games are negligible. Gameranger has an improvement, but I haven't been 'decimated' in anything other than a 1v1 since our ESL match. I'm looking man, I can't find it.
(Unlike 99.9% of the people crying about erebus)
At any rate, I'm hoping the upcoming clan pantheon will be taken seriously by the competitive community, and I hope to see you there. Rather than running around on gameranger trying to find actual group of friends to fight, hopefully everyone tries to rank on it. Then we'll see whos overused, whos OP, and whos actually good.
I knew this thread was going to be fun the moment I read the title.

Extacide, are you thirteen or something? I just refuse to believe that an adult would spew shit like that.
If a new demigod could started at 10000 hp and did 4000 damage per second at level 1, people like Extracide would still be grasping at straws when others pointed out the obvious gameplay implications. I'm tired of this myth that everything needs months and months of gameplay testing to decide if it's too strong or if it's too weak. Some things are just plain obvious, and balance shouldn't be a static thing. Adjust for the now, and if player adaptation reveals new problems, change it again.
I hope the new future functions allow us to block certain people from games. . . and set them to ignore. . .
This is exactly why i never got into DOTA. Freakin' elitists that think they know everything and everyone is below them. Personally, i think people like this are people who got shoved into garbage cans too many times in high school and couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper back with claw hammer in real life.
All this for 125 dmg.....
Am i stupid or is there a way to delete posts in the edit selection that i am missing?
you would be amazed.
Don't feed Extacide with responses.
Why oh why is there no 'remove karma' button?
God damn it, I forgot to check the card's rules.
My fault guys, sorry.
Should I post the handicapped-olympic-win-internet picture?
or is it clear enough?
oh and op- you fail
I believe that Demigod would be a better game if Extacide was banned.
Well the op is pissed and rude but i strongly agree with him when he say:
I'm not happy man. They're basing a nerf upon a whining majority. This is bad practice for balancing a game.
Just that
You know, when trying to say this is "intellectual discussion", I would also refrain from cussing to make myself look like an ass. Seriously Extacide, grow the hell up - we don't even know what the numbers for the new bite are.
LOL
You do realise that nobody is going to take your argument seriously OP. You need to remove emotion from a logical argument,; no matter how good your maths is, calling people mentally retarded implies a subjective approach on your part one that lets personal feelings get in the way of the numbers.
You douche.
Erebus had it coming.
Exctacide, I don't think they are nerfing solely based on what has been said on the forums. They have much more data than we ever will have and most likely noticed something wrong BEYOND what the whiners said.
Their data probably showed Erebus had most played, most victories, highest average level, etc.. in games and therefore gave a look at him, read the forums and nerfed the Bite ability as it should have been.
Bite was too good as is, period. There is no reason to discuss this. It should NEVER have done so many things at once with the same mana cost as Fireball.
Now, instead of whining, I would suggest you follow your own advice of patience and testing. Calling names on GPG before we even have any experience with the new Bite is childish.
We are probably looking at something like 275/325 instead of 300/300 dam/mana ratio. I wouldn't expect a huge change.
That said, your name calling here and in the old Erebus thread clearly deserves a warning or even a temporary ban. This is not your private place.
According to their public data displayed in the site Erebus is in the 4th place, after ub reg and rook
