This thread seems to feature a high proportion of very high bandwidth connections! I think most people in the UK have about 1.5meg down and 0.25meg up or less. I pay alot more for adsl 2+ and decent speeds.
Cheers
This is enough for Demigod, isn't it?
Well it serves me good enough and it's cheap, I use that bundle thing with shaw.
Looking at the other world results, it just shows me how far behind Australia is compared to the rest of the world when comparing access to high speed internet.
Couple that with monthly download limits, shaping and the counting of uploads toward one's quota, all that alone makes me want to move to Europe, US or South Korea.
Bring on the NBN.....if it ever happens.
This is with TW Cable. I am paying for 'Turbo' Road Runner to give me up to 10 MB. In a few hours I'm switching to ATT U-verse, but I only signed up for up to 6 MB (I can upgrade to 10 if I need to). So, I'll post the results after.
I used to get 17 mbit/s (my max on this connection) to another speedtest.net server but they removed the server from the test.
Well it becomes pretty clear reading through this thread that even though we live in an age where people have big download capabilities, there's still plenty of people with very limited upload. Very interesting.
It's called ADSL. It's how the technique works (Hence the Asynchronous).
Cable and fibre should solve the problem, though there isn't much need for a high upload for average users.
Home connection.
