Top 3 games you regret buying.
Nothing worse than paying good money for a crappy game. Ughhhh
1) Mirror's Edge
2) Spore
3) Age of Empire III - Ugh.. I just bought this last night too. ughhhh
C&C Tiberium Wars
Spore (it was a dream coming true... a realistic Evolution sim... until the kiddy-lovers showed up and turned it into a kiddy's playdome...) i agree the CC was worth the 10$
Age of Empires 3 (doesnt work on my pc.. (support i got = your pc sucks, better luck next time)
Guildwars (meh)
Lego Friends (dont ask.. please)
Bioshock ( just random shooting and useless powers)
C&C RA 3 (they REMOVED the harvesters WTF!!)
more then 3
but they just suck so badass T_T
when wil gaming industries finaly stop spending milions on graphics and start on gameplay
i've seen only a handfull of games that surpass games from the good old time... but even then, it's only a patch for what was already there....
I'm STILL waiting for a remake of xcom. I'm still playing the original dos version lol.
I will have to disagree on Guild Wars and Tiberium Wars 3 as I found both games to be absolute masterpieces!
Guild Wars I played for four years and Tiberium Wars 3 was the ohhhhh so anticipated sequel I was w8ing for after finishing all other westwood "C&C and RA" products.
Send in Genesis Rising and you go tyourself the most ridiculous game ever played! Total waste of money
Guild Wars kind of depends on what you expect out of it. I have all of the GW campaigns and love them (though Nightfall and EoTN easily win over Prophecies and Factions), but there's really not much middle ground there between solo/PvE play and hardcore PvP. I never did much PvP, and Random is very hit and miss, but if you get into its PvP seriously there's a lot of fun to be had, with rankings and guild vs. guild matches and many other game modes.
Worst games ever for me? Well...
1. Wii Play for the Wii (Didn't even get the extra controller! )
2. World in Conflict: Soviet Assault (Havn't even gotten to play it yet, stupid comp. shuts me down every 10-15 minutes into a level)
3. Umm... if I had to it would be Rayman Raving Rabids for the Wii (If you want a Migraine for $25 or so, buy this game)
Koda0 (^)
I agree and disagree with you. I agree with the part where you mentioned unfair unit battles - it happened way too much, but otherwise I found Civ3 to be a close to masterpiece and still miss some of the combat still when playing Civ4.
1. Any Civilizations game. Admittedly, the last one I got was about 8 years ago, but I hated it.
2. AOE III. I loved the other games, but I don't know what it was about this one...
3. EaW: Forces of Corruption. They added in lots of new units and worlds at the expense of gameplay. If you're the Empire, tech up to Star Destroyers and super weapons. As Rebels, use your incredibly powerful heros to raid enemy worlds until you win. Consortium, use your insanely powerful ships to dominate everyone else. While the idea was nice, the balance from the first game where ships fought what they were supposed to, instead of taking 8 Consortium Corvettes and destroying an entire Mon Calamari Star Cruiser in 5 minutes (with escorts!).
I think the problem with Spore is that it was fun up until Space stage, but then the gameplay slows down and becomes duller.
So do I!!! Played it form day one! Only stopped in august of this year +_+!
EoTN was INSANE followed by Factions, then Nightfall (though I loved the story of it) and lastly prophecies though it remains the longest and hardest campaign at the time!
What other games did I meet you in without knowing +_+?
Neverwinter Nights 2?
C&C Red Alert 2?
Crysis?
1. Space Force: Rogue Universe
Just a crummy game, way too many bugs.
2. O.R.B.
Cheap ripoff of homeworld, and not as good
3. Sins of a Solar Empire
Don't get me wrong, it's a great game. I just don't have the time that's required to play it and get good at it.
How can you rate Factions over Nightfall? Nightfall's introduction of Heroes is enough to beat Factions with a stick Plus the Factions story was quite weak. The bonus is the Elite Kuzrick Warrior armor is the best freaking armor in the game for the warrior
I have NWN2 though never played online. I played NWN1 on a PW called City of Arabel, and the folks who made that (well, most of them) made Tales of Moonsea for NWN2 which I tried out for a little bit but just couldn't get into it.
Crysis I don't play much online now, though I'm half-through another run of Warhead.
I highly recommend you try Civ4. It's an epic game and in my opinion, the most complete TBS game to date.
Dear god, please not halo. It's worse than CoD.
I'm a big fan of Crysis, Fallout 3 (fallouts 1&2 were better, but they're RPG's and thus don't count), GoW if I've got some people to play it with..., a touch of L4D, Team Fortress 2, Portal, Half Life 2. There are plenty of games out there that kick ass, it's just my opinion that CoD isn't one of em.
Ahh as I said to MishYu lol, I'll play a game with you to change your mind. I love(d) that game. Haven't played it in a while but it's still a classic fav.
Indeed, agreed, halo blows....sure glad I don't own it. Sure glad I wasn't one of them who bought an Xbox just to play halo
I did and I was satisfied. You must own a ps2/3 then.
Nope. I just don't like Halo. I actually bought an XBox just for it, and it was one of the most lackluster games I have ever played. Also, I didn't really care for KotoR, but I loved Jade Empire.
1. C&C 3: Tiberium Wars
My friends all got addicted to Tiberium Sun when I was in high school and I really wanted to play it with them, but I missed out on all the fun due to being too poor to own a computer. So when I saw C&C 3 in the store, I decided I should give the series a try. Paid $60 for the collector's edition, played one game, uninstalled. It didn't run well on my computer, and base management seemed to require far too much clicking for me to be able to keep up with the action.
2. Armored Core: Ninebreaker
I was going through Virtual On withdrawal and needed a mech game bad. I had heard good things about the Armored Core series, so after half an hour in the local Gamestop trying to figure out which non-sequentially numbered title was the newest, I bought Ninebreaker. What a horrible game. The missions were boring, controls were awkward, and building any kind of decent mech required a spreadsheet. The parts all had difficult-to-remember serial numbers instead of names, and they weren't distinctive enough in function to be interesting.
3. DDR Supernova
I had been using DDR Max 2 as a kind of gamer-friendly fitness program, but there's only so much Conga Fever one can take. I found Supernova in the game store and bought it hoping to get some more interesting songs, but all the good ones needed to be unlocked through some tedious intergalactic-club-hopping campaign mode. The campaign mode sucked and so did all the available songs, so I just stopped playing.
4. An honorable mention and "Love to hate, hate to love" award goes to EVE Online.
I was playing a lot of Jumpgate when this one came out, and it was generating a lot of buzz among the less combat-oriented members of the community. I gave it a try and quickly realized that while flawed, it had a lot of potential. The economy was very deep, the time-based skill training helped reduce grinding, the universe was huge, and playing it felt like watching a really nicely made screensaver.
Unlike Jumpgate, you didn't fly your ship so much as suggest interesting locations for it to go to. Tasks that required interaction went by quickly, while the automated stuff took forever. I gave up after I got bored and ordered my mining vessel to orbit an asteroid, only to see it repeatedly hurl itself into neighboring rocks and bounce off. In Jumpgate, you fly your ship manually. Orbiting an asteroid will increase mining rates, but hitting a rock is a good way to ding your insurance and earn a free pod ride home.
I eventually got so bored that I logged off, started up Jumpgate, and spent the next three hours spectating a server outage. No one could launch without crashing, and you couldn't actually do anything inside a station, so we just sat there complaining and watching people post dirty jokes in the help channel. It's not a good sign when people quit your game to not-play something else.
Still, I occasionally get the urge to go back to EVE. They've made a lot of improvements, and they really did get some things right, but every time I remind myself of two things: Firstly, skill progression is realtime and there's no way I can catch up after being away for several years, and secondly, I'm just too nice to play EVE.
I agree that Factions was pretty weak, but I could never really get into Nightfall's setting. Deserts don't really do anything for me, and I had been really hoping that the next chapter would be a bit more "western hemisphere". It was going to be until they scrapped it, but getting an expansion that tied up the loose ends of Prophecies while expanding on the best environments of Tyria is arguably better.
I just wish I could find a half-decent guild to play with. Every time I join one, it goes inactive a month later.
I for one found both nice to look at but as RPG completly blant. It just had no style IMO. It was all so generic.
Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2: worst single-player RPG campaigns ever. Buggy too.
GalCiv: a poor remake of Master of Orion
Mafia: beautiful game, awful driving mechanics
Really? Not that I would know about NWN2 (as I've not played it), but I rather enjoyed NWN1. The campaign was admittedly somewhat bland, but otherwise I thought it was a decent RPG.
Heh. You might want to rephrase that one before Brad (Frogboy/Draginol) shows up and bitch-slaps you into next week. He tends to take offense to people who describe the GalCiv games as MOO "remakes", especially given that he released the first version of GalCiv (for OS/2) around the same time as MOO1.
I regret buying anything from Valve.
They have no respect for their customers, yet they inflate themselves by talking down the competition as anti-consumer. The only thing worse than a bad company is a bad company that claims to be great.
If I post anything, can I get some anti-mob protection?
No?
Arright, well anyway:
1: Sins
I'm sure it's a fascinating game, but I've barely played it more than an hour. It just isn't my type of thing.
2: Galactic Civilizations 2
I liked the first one better. I thought having to figure out what plot to build your stuff on on the planet just made things tedious, and the research tree is just too wierd. Don't know what they changed in the expansions, but I still couldn't get too into it.
3: X2 and X3. Awesome depth...but the most absolutely horrible presentation (AI, player character behaviors especially) I've ever encountered in a game.
If I wanted to extend, I'd add STALKER to that just for being overly confusing and difficult.
Now you may all kill me...enjoy.
^
Sins and GalCiv are most certainly not for everyone. There is no shame in disliking either.
Civilization: Call to Power - what a mess...
Axis and Allies - crashes galore...
Sim Earth - a complete waste of time...
at least they were all less than $10...
It isn't that I dislike GC2, I just thought they overcomplicated it in too many ways. GC1 was easy to get into, it may not have had as much depth but I liked it.
3. C&C: Red Alert 3 - Not terrible, but a little dull and shortlived, in all not quite worth the money spent.
2. Oblivion - I really liked Morrowind, but Oblivion just didn't feel like anything but a downgrade outside of graphics.
1. Empire Earth 3 - Eugh.... just, eugh. I wish I could pretend this abomination was not currently present within thirty feet of myself. Give me Metal Fatigue or Submarine Titans any day.
Somewhat sad to see X3: Terran Conflict and NWN2 on so many lists, love em both.
