I think that the model for the Viper should be changed so that it is the mark II or VII instead of the one from the 1978 series. It would be more realistic.
What I plan on doing is having each ship have its own, "era-specific" fighters. The original Galactica from the old series will be added in, and it will have the original Vipers. The Galactica will have mkII, the Mercury will have MkVII, etc.
that sounds cool!can't wait
I have a minor suggestion (not sure how hard it would be to implement)
when an enemy jumps in and your colonial, have it shout "DRADIS Contact!"
otherwise it's a really fun mod. keep it up
I would need a recording of that in order to put it in, but it's totally doable.
Just a little update for everyone. I am working on the research right now. All the useless techs (at least, I'm pretty sure I got all of them) have been removed, and I'm making new ones to take their places. The Colonial armor, missile, health and autocannon research has been improved, although most of their tree remains the same as the TEC one, just different values, so if you have ideas for Colonial tech, please let me know. To compensate for their huge amounts of armor, the more you research, the slower their ships get.
The Cylons get a huge missile research path, as well as research to increase the range of their missiles. They are also getting some speed boost research, so they get faster as the game goes.
Also, the number of ships they can each have has been increased. Cylons start with 4 available cap ship crew, and the colonials have 2 and they can both have more frigates.

In the show, the battlestars were shown to be faster and more maneuverable than the cylon baseships. It would be more realistic to make it the other way around, or just leave the movement as is.
Were they? Not saying I don't believe you, I just don't remember that. It has been a while since I've watched the older episodes.
Really?? Which episode?
I know Cylon ships are very fast and maneuverable due to they're very light but fragile.
A group of Cylon basestars maneuver very well at high speed into formation around other rebellious basestars, initiating a Cylon civil war. (The Ties That Bind)
In Resurrection Ship part II when they attack the resurrection ship, Galactica and Pegasus are shown circling 2 cylon baseships quite rapidly and in Exodus part II when Pegasus comes in to save Galactica, it is easily able to catch up to the baseships that are chasing Galactica.
its also been a while since I've seen those episodes, but that is what I remember.
I remember it! I don't see they're that 'fast', more like just steady. I hate to say that they're not fast and maneuverable as Cylon.
That was my line of thinking, as well.

I own Exodus pt II (I bought it from iTunes. I like to watch the Pegasus plow into the baseship over and over and over...) Anyway, it doesn't seem to me that the Pegasus has to move very fast to catch up. The Galactica, for the most part, isn't moving much. It's FTL is down, and there are baseships in front of it blocking it from really going anywhere.
You guys are right, I watched a couple of episodes and I see what you're saying.
Hey all, been following this thread for a while, very interesting. I'm a huge BSG fan.
I was hoping one of you would be so kind as to post a video of the mod? I'd love to see it in action, as I don't yet have the expansion.
There may be a video coming eventually, but I've been too busy to make it. Plus, Dan should be done witht he textures soon (I hope) and it would look much better with everything textured correctly, so I want to wait. At the very least, once they are done I will post some screenshots of them.
I found if you turn of the bloom effect the glowiness goes down a lot, and then if you zoom in the battlestars don't look ugly.
about the visual side,i noticed that on my friends computer, wich has windows 7,the glow and whiteness looks quite bad.
But yeah who cares, that will be fixed soon anyways.
Thanks for that very nice modding, I'm a real fan of BSG
I haven't read all the replies but I have a question : is it normal that the meshes are not very detailed ? The ships have a good shape but are not detailed at all, as if they were not really finished . Is it normal or do I have something to do in order to change that ? I post a screen so u can see by ureselves :
Thanks if you can help
Mine never looked like that, but there has been issues about how reflective they are.
To my knowledge, he is aware of it, and it is being addressed.
Holy ****,Hell that even looks worse then the ones on windows 7 i mentioned before, believe me they look alot better then that. They allmost look like real ships just a little bright.
I'm glad to know this is not their normal look then
Does anyone know how come they look like that ?
I put the mod file in Mods-Entrenchment v1.03 instead of Mods-Entrenchment v1.02 as it was said to do. Do you believe this could have an impact on it ?
Cause the problem is, I've already DLed and installed V1.03 and it wd be a shame to go back to V1.02.
I hope someone can help and tell me where this si coming from
Yeah, at the moment the textures for all the ships have not been fixed as they should be. The textures which determine the reflectiveness of the ships surface and bloom ability are set at their highest i.e. highest light reflection giving you almost white ships as well as a halo effect when you enable bloom. The Purple ships appear like that as you have mesh team colours selected, this again is because the texture for that has not been addressed. I believe Danman is dealing with this issue of the textures for kyogre12 so it shouldn't be too long before we see properly textured ships.
Yes but it seems that some people don't have this issue. Maybe its coming from my settings or something like that. In that case I might get the possibility to have the right textures
I'm gonna try some tests, changing quality of ships design or stuff like that, with the hope that it will work.
Apart from that, this mod is really cool. Some small issues and unbalanced things, but in general its really a good work. Thanks a lot !
hell try turning off show mesh team colour, ship mesh highlight filter and bloom enabled in the options effects
harpo
Before I try, my settings are ON apart from bloom enable which is OFF.
If I turn it ON, its worse, ships look like Xmas trees lol
If I turn them all off, it doesn't change anything, still the same ugly detail. Thanks though
