I've just purchased Demigod from the Demigod website, and I'm obviously new.
Any asian players out there please give me a shout.
I've tried to connect online a few times (both for online skirmish and pantheon), but was not successful - at best I get a "trying to connect" screen and end up being kicked off. Do I need to disable my firewall to play online ?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Definitely agree with ya on the signs of a good game. So far I've spent the past 3 or 4 months thinking of GalCiv II, Civ IV, Sins and now Demigod. I think I've got my summer gaming schedule covered!
Singaporean Player also mostly on custom games. Online abt 9-10 pm or whether some ppl have bathed or not . Weekdays have to see if friends are online such as Playdoh, th15 or Streyt

I'm not sure what happened ... but I downloaded the patch, disabled my firewall ... and I could actually connect to a Panthenon game !
I have to say that Demigod really shines online. I'm thrilled, pleased (except for the laggy bit ).

Thanks for the game playdoh, evil gia et al. Although it was kinda unbalanced (2 v 3). Strangely, after the game ended, I got an error and had to restart the computer.
But yes, it's a lot more fun (and unpredictable) playing online
Hmm, seems this patch has made the game more unstable guess we try tomorrow nite again. BTW. I private message U all the Game name and the password. Msg me back if u receive it by clicking on my name. We tested the private message system and found out that it doesnt notify the user that u have the message. It used to be able to. A reason why i put password because a huge number of people tried to connect but unable to join, resulting in potential problems for the people already in the game. Anyway we see how the new patch works out.
This is interesting. Evil_Gia and I weren't in that game you've played. We decided to try hosting a private game instead and like what Evil_Gia said, we tried private messaging you, revenant and hairysome the name and password to no avail. Later, we've discovered that the PM alert (you normally get a pop up on the right side when someone PMs you) wasn't working.
In the end, we recreated a public game and waited for almost half an hour without anyone joining, and decided to call it a night.

I'll try and get on tonight and meet up with you guys for a game. Last night I played a bit of single player, working with TB rather than Sedna. Went alright. Do you guys find that Skirmish is much harder than Tournament?

Japan is one hour ahead of Singapore. So if it's 10:00 AM here, it would be 11:00 AM there.
If we want to set up a private game (i.e. password), it might be useful to use the private mail function in this forum.
(I've checked and I haven't gotten any private mails yet, I think )
Hmm .. I didn't realize I was playing against AI yesterday evening
It's quite a bit harder to set things up using the PM here. The game setup is usually spontaneous; I simply see who's online and ask them if they're available for game when I'm in Demigod.
I've read reports of "game splits" where a game with players on both teams split into two games where players are fighting with AI. Normally, if a player leaves the game half way or disconnects, an AI takes over but retains the same user name.
I'll see if I can set up a game tonight via forum PMs.
Just wanna tell everyone that I've changed my nick from Playdoh to SyDaemon.

Yeah, I think my comp was also struggling to keep up with the forced increase in sim speed. It was hectic fun though. I was on edge the entire game.

TBH, when the game first start I went like "WOW since when oak hits and move so fast??", then I realised everyone is just as fast lol... But yea its mighty fun, and made a long (losing) battle short

Yesterday evening (14 May, Singapore time) was a bit frustrating.
We had difficulty connecting to each other; and unfortunately, when I tried to host the game, my game crashed about 5 mins after starting up.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new patch(es) bring a bit more stability.
Incidentally, does anyone know if Demigod is already officially available in stores in Singapore ?

Good to see a nice community of Singaporeans/Asians being built up. I've heard that the official release of Demigod in SG will be on the 24th May so hopefully there'll be an influx of players at that point in time.

Played a game or two with some of you and it has been a pleasure.
Something was wrong with the connection last night, experienced lag spikes and on a few occasions just got dumped from game. Hope these probs dun persists.
FYI, i'm on singtel broadband and played a game with aussies last night, ping seems ok, between 100 - 200
24th? All along I thought it was today! (15th). Ah well...what's a few more days of waiting for more players eh?
