Click he Impulse icon at the top left of Impulse, make sure show pre-release is checked. Update!
From my experience it seems.
1) People connect to lobbies much faster.
2) Connections between people in lobby seems flakier, but it'll still show green non-0 ping. It does generally seem to work, unless you're really not connected to a lot of people, in which case
3) You may still drop at the beginning of the game
4) Drops in-game seems to be gone now. The screen that shows up briefly in the past actually stays up and starts counting, presumably at 30s they get kicked. It's cumulative.
5) Favor seems to work more often now, but sometimes it'll still show up as 0.
Well that's great. I just saw update, clicked it thinking it was an actual update, and now I find out it's a beta patch? So do I HAVE to uninstall and reinstall demigod, or can I just wait for another official patch to update this "beta" version?
Also, I have been joining games much quicker, but once I'm in a game, no one eles attempting to join the game can connect to me.

I say this is wrong. No, the favor points don't work better. They worked occassionally before the beta update too. And they still work occassionally after the beta update. The problem is identical before and after the beta update. The beta update had no effect on the problem whatsoever. They still don't work most of the time.
Favor remain as horrendously broken as ever.
You are correct, favor is not patched in this and will be released with the larger patch next week.
Oh it gets better than that.
If you uninstall and uncheck the box, when you install again you still get the beta.
I never made any choice - Impulse said update available so I updated. I don't recall ever setting anything that says 'put me on a beta' - and then I ended up with no multiplayer capability because noone else had the patch. Very bizarre move. I (unwittingly) turned into in a beta just before I tried to play it online for the first time, and was basically put off multiplayer straight away after having to wait about an hour for a 1 on 1 game (no other players were available)

Well there is a problem with sound settings with new beta patch.
Game just don't care about Your sound preferences. If You run the game, it's all the time default values for Volume and settings (eg. I have music set to 0, but every time I start new beta game, the music is on).
It's a bit annoying, cause I have to setup sound settings every time I start the game. Hope it will be fixed in official patch.
You can uncheck show pre-release in impulse,than right click the game to verify install to revert back to non beta.
Well I for one am glad that people with usernames beginning with 'E' are excluded. It's about damn time too. They are immoral, decadent, lazy, obnoxious, corrosive to the public good, steal money from orphanages and they smell horrible- on purpose.
But however necessary these steps were, they are insufficient. When will we get the patch that permanately uninstalls their Demigod and sets fire to their monitor?
The still don't fix anything still tons of 0ms ppl d/c games still take 20min to get started. The mp of this game is complete garbage the 10year old starcraft battle.net is so much better. They tryed to take the cheep way out of multiplayer and have lost so many customers cause of it.
