If so...how? It seems to me that your teammates are crap as well as the gold rush for the opposition. One game they refused to leave the base for no reason at all lol. I find you can do okay till about 1/2 way then it ooooover.....

Its unfair on how when you do play SP the only dif on the difficulties is that the harder you make it, the more your allies suck and feed the enemy.
The enemy team does get better, actually, it's just that your allies getting worse is much more noticable. It's nearly unplayable in a game where success comes down to teamwork, and dying too much makes you a liability to your team. It certainly sucks the enjoyment out of the game. It doesn't help that the AI just doesn't know how to play some demigods (I can't tell you how many times I've killed an AI Rook because he moved into tower range to use structural transfer, got stunned, and died to tower fire).
However, there are a couple ways to pull out a win. Remember, you need to win by favour; it's theoretically possible to lose every single match and still come out the overall winner. You just gotta win as many awards as you can. Kills, kill streak, gold, and assists are out of your reach. The other team WILL kill more than you due to the stupidity of your allies. Deaths will also be hard to shoot for because the enemy team will be rigged out with the best equipment as a result. However, citadel upgrades and flags are virtually in the bag. The dumbed down AI allies you get are very slow to get either, allowing you to do most of the flag and citadel work for your team, giving you easy access to those awards. Depending on your DG choice, damage, spawn kills, and structure kills are all within possibility.
Because the demigods who are on your team will not win any awards, this means their score will plummet just because they're put on your team (because their AI gets dumbed down). As a result, a lot of the time tournaments come down to dumb luck. If the highest point scoring AI gets put on your team, he'll be instantly dumbed down and won't win any awards, causing his score to plummet that round. If there's a fairly uniform distribution and the AI's all end up on your team fairly often, you can actually squeek a win without ever having won a single round!
that's a pretty sad way to play the game though... it's what I am having to do to win on Hard though...
single player...
lol, enough said...
Nightmare games need to be won very quickly. Nightmare AI cheats, and unless you gain enough momentum really on, they will obliterate you if they gain access to artifacts (they get I think 2x the gold ) Your own AI team remains Normal. Not even Hard..
Interesting thanks. I find hard isnt that hard but nightmare would come down to the suggestions above. Perhaps this will improve with updates to make AI better. And those who just comment to criticize forum choice....seriously...get a life.
What's REALLY funny is how much people seem to have NO PROBLEM with a crappy AI. Let's not belittle a good SP AI. I'd rather people learn how to play in SP than have a noob on my team in MP. Also, there are times I want to play, but cannot get online. And for the MP snobs, what do you do when a player drops or is disconnected? Now an AI takes over and its already gameover. It took you 5-15 mins just to get the game going, another 15-30 mins into the game, and than its all over? That's not much fun.
I've never really understood why MP player's don't complain long and loud about a crappy AI, because it affects them just as much. SP players usually play scripted campaigns anyways.

Just make sure the artifacts shop is under your controll, and when u have to leave justcast cap lock on it, and here you got it, ai have no artifacts! Now make sure you got all the gate flags, even inside the enemy baseuse cap lock on them too, the ai will spend 40 seconds sitting there for the lock to go offduring this time you got one less DG to worry about.Focus on early destruction of enemy towers, the ai tend to ignore it when you attak a towerbut sometimes he teleports, dosnt matter, just kill him or run away and find another tower to bash :]If you got AOE damage, kill creeps on every chance, for exp and gold and run to bash towersafter there is no front line towers for the enemy, the ai will "switch" to protection modewhere he will focus on fighting off the income waves of your creeps near his baseduring this time focus on cup the gate flags you missed and if you can all the other flags toodont forget you need to protect the artifact flag at all cost during the entire gamebecause if the ai gets artifacts you 100% lost.
bu the end of the game the AI will be lvl 20 with 50 kills eachyou will be lvl 15 with almost no kills but a whole loads of capped flags and killed creeps and an artifact!
Remember, ai dont have prioroties! if he walks near a flag, he cups itif hes wounded, he teleports, he cant call for help, which means that you can predict itand if you can predict it you can be 1 step ahead during the entire game.
indeed what demigod3k said.
As soon as they get the artifact shop, it becomes a real problem for you. You gotta keep this at all costs. Once they start to regen faster than you can damage them and that you lose half your hp by just getting by them because of insane attack rate, then its time to plan for the next match .
I managed to win nightmare once, but reading dg3k's post, i think i might try it again, good tactics there.
I just started a nightmare tournament yesterday and so far I won 2 out of 3 rounds. I even won a Slaughter round... for some reason my allies where able to smite the enemy too a couple of times and the round was won with 10 kills on my team and only 3 kills on the enemy team. I don't know how that could have happened.
Bah, just lost the tournament by 10 points
