I'm not here to bitch about multiplayer working or not. In fact, it's been working perfectly fine for me
However, for a lot of people, they're having issues with the game. Calling them whiny bitches and having a general sycophantic behaviour WILL NOT encourage new people to come and play this game. In fact, it will just create a sub culture of uber-fans where the rest of the mainstream people will not go.
Seriously, by apologising and chasing away complainers, you're doing Demigod a huge disservice. You need to stop.
A lot of the people complaining have extremely valid points. Being unable to play a game you bought is quite frustrating, and this is compounded by you telling them off when they come here to vent their issues.
Here's what you need to do:
- be a little more understanding. Even if it's the 1 millionth complaint post, it's still a new person.
- tell them they can have a refund if they like. This will show them that Stardock walks the walk as far as their bill of rights goes.
- recommend that they be patient but tell them they don't need to keep complaining and can easier and immediately get a refund.
No more than that needs to be said. You people are very frequent forum-goers. Many of the people complaining are new customers. Even if you have a huge attachment to Stardock and feel they are teh best company ever, the new customers have no idea who they are. Your rabid fanboyish definately will not help them feel welcome.
Don't take this as a complaint about the complaints about the complaints (gross). If you want Demigod to have a great community, it involves more than sucking up to the devs and chasing everyone else out. Contrarians are important too.
+1 Karma
nah that would be reasonable unless of course they go totally over the top...
Well said. +1
I agree. Most of the Demigod players are becoming exactly what they hated the DotA community for.
Me personally, I'm not having problems connecting or anything. The game is fine for the most part except for a few balance tweaks here and there, and speedier multiplayer access. Other than that, I'm fine with the game.
I just wish it wasnt too much to ask to make you concern a reply and not a post.
But sadly, it is.
...
can you in Russia? Go check out... "We're not responsible if you dont like the game, we can only give you money back if the game does not work on OUR equipment"
You can get a refund from Stardock themselves, just contact their sales department.
Well, in Russia the game costs much less, so I think it is not a big problem.
Brain dead much?
Provided that your game doesn't work. I do not believe they give refunds because you changed your mind.
It shouldn't matter if you have the Russian release as long as it's legit, but I'm not sales and their deal with Snowball/1C is kinda weird.
My understanding is Stardock will only offer refunds to people who have purchased the software directly from Stardock, or who have purchased it in North America (retail copies).
+1 karma for me. I totally agree. I noticed that this forums are almost full of fanboyism, it's really hard to say something you don't like about the game or stardock, and not be assimilated by an army of fanboys. And if it's one thing i can't stand on the internets, it's fanboys, of any kind.
There is a difference between fans and fanboys. Fans are capable of rational thought and are fans because they have a lot of experience with how Stardock works. Fanboys are not capable of rational thought and should be ignored as much as the trolls.
There are few actual fanboys on these boards, but many fans. Supporting Stardock rather than joining the torch and pitchfork troll mob does not a fanboy make.
Edit: Thanks for the correction, Neil!
I'm surprised at this topic, because I've seen very few fanboys and quite a lot of good discussion threads where people speak their mind and always disagree with each other.
yea but when you see 20 threads on 1 topic its annoying as hell to see impatient people.
give them a month as i do any company if they cant fix the game to playabilty in that time frame then complain.
i care less if its stardock or blizzard companies will allways make a mistake or 2
Personally I think it depends on how the new person phrases their post. It's one thing to make a polite comment stating that they are having issues. It's another thing to make a post that is little more than an abusive rant at the developers and publishers.
