I am trying out my ODU packet and find I rather like DesktopX/DesktopX Widgets.I am also running the Windows Vista Sidebar and Yahoo Widgets, for a couple of functions in particular,and cannot find any Desktop Widgets that do the same thing I wanted.
So my question, is there a way for me to use/convert Sidebar Gadgets & Yahoo Widgets,into DesktopX Widgets compatable with Vista?Because I would like to get rid of the Sidebar and Yahoo Widgets.I can supply the Widget and Gadgets if anyone needs to take a look at them.
Seems this is impossible by simple way...
Well, I figure since today is my 43rd, making me an old dawg that doesn't have the time to learn new tricks,I'd attempt to play the sympathy card and ask (very nicely "pretty please with cream and sugar on top")
if someone that, unlike me, CAN program/script/whatever, take a shot at:This Sidebar GadgetThis Sidebar Gadget(both .zip's were just made from the folder where they were installed)and a Wi-Fi widget that shows signal strength, internal and EXTERNAL IP, uptime and a way to show longest uptime.Where possible, also made to work on XP as well.
With these 3 things, I can then get rid of Yahoo Widgets AND the Sidebar, giving me more desktop space,which I will need when I have my computer running the way I want it, and then want to start attempt a WB skin.

I've downloaded your gadgets and will try to understand what we can do... Seems it should be create them in DesktopX Builder from the beginning.

No problems. I'm working on Vista too...
So. I've looked inside the gadgets. Unfortunately I can't modify them for DesktopX because I don't know Java in such high level.
You need find a people who can rewrite a scripts for DesktopX which will work together with *.dll files included into the gadgets. I'm not an expert in this area...
