There needs to be a serious adjustment to teleportation scrolls. Either severely shorten the length of time it takes me to teleport out, or make me stun immune while I'm doing it. I don't care what you do, just solve the problem please.
As it stands right now, I can't do what every single so-called "pro" or "skilled" person on this forum recommends I do - RUN AWAY. In the last game I just played, I kept getting slaughtered by an unclean beast. So I loaded up on teleport scrolls. I wasn't even going to TRY to fight him at all. I was simply going to run away at first sight of him. That's all I wanted to do. That was my mission in life - just run away. Nothing else.
But I couldn't even do that. As soon as he appeared out of the fog of war, I hit teleport. The teleport charged up, he stunned me while teleport was charging, then he killed me within a few seconds because teleport didn't work. WORSE, the stun would even make it so that my teleport scroll had a cooldown, as if I had just successfully used teleport, WHEN THE FACT IS IT GOT INTERUPTED.
After the first failed attempt at "I don't want to fight, I don't even want to win the game, I just want to successfully run away" I asked him point blank "Look, I tried to teleport away WITH FULL HEALTH, wasn't successful... what the hell else am I supposed to do?" He said "I dunno... I'm not the game designer." So I tried once more, i.e. after reincarnation I set out to another flag on the other side of the map from where I had just gotten killed. As I'm walking there WITH FULL HEALTH, I see the unclean beast appearing out of the fog of war. I again instantly hit teleport and clicked on my citadel. Again, he ran up, stunned me while I was teleporting, then killed me within a few seconds. Again, the teleportation cooldown started even though it was not successful (not that I would have had time to try using it again before dying). If you must know, he was level 7, I was level 6.
Is it too much to ask to just be able to have a chance to successfully teleport away? I'm not asking to win the game, I DON'T WANT TO WIN THE GAME, I don't want anything adjusted to make it so that I can win the game. I don't want my demigod buffed, and I don't want his demigod nerfed. I just want one thing, and one thing only. I just want the chance to teleport away when I have full health and a teleportation scroll in hand, and when I hit teleport the very instant I see an enemy demigod. In other words, I want to be able to teleport away, and subsequently LOSE because I can't deploy my demigod on the field of battle and have him capture flags, kill creeps, level up, etc. without getting killed.
Am I asking too much?
this is sad! so many ppl tryed to help you and at least Silphius wrote a super great post!
and this is what u came up with ? tbh in my eye's ur saying something like "fack this i cant argue with this anymore and i dont wanna take those advices anyway" ... hope im wrong tho
Play as Oak and shield before you use your teleport scroll. Problem solved.
Seriously, though teleport scrolls are dirt cheap. They cost 250 a piece; you can't expect something that cheap to be a "get out of jail free card". No one of reasonable skill would ever die. They'd be brutally overpowered if you couldn't interrupt them. There are lots of ways to get around interrupts which have already been discussed.
You can still get stunned through shield but yeah it may be a good idea, atleast you dont die trying to TP.
To Agent of Kharma I can only reccomend playing as Unclean Beast, see how your enemies menage to survive against you just fine? right, now copy it.
And then you take bread, and you slice it! BRILLIANT!
Wand of speed (+25%) = 1250 gold
Boots of speed (+10%) = 1000 gold
These stack; problem solved.
tldr all the responses
Teleport scrolls are fine as is; the issue is in your strategy. If you know that you have the possibility to be stunned you must remove that option from your oponent before you attempt to teleport. If youre just getting wailed on and killed before it goes off you need to invest in survivability.
Situations will demand differnet things- this could be as simple as silencing your foe or starting to move away from them a bit sooner. Sometimes you might need to get some boots of speed to put enough distance between your foe and you to successfully port away. Perhaps you need to put them in a risky situation- dont teleport out in the open, get in the middle of some of your towers. You might just need to get some more health and armor to survive a couple of hits while porting.
If this tends to be happening when you're pushing into their base really hard then you just need to lay off some; if you're fragile- play that way.
the only problem i have with the way tele scrolls work is when u get stunned they are on a cd after ur not.
This has probably already been said but, dude, RUN away not teleport away. Game I just played, 3 v 3, UB was on the other side and he and TB ran me down twice - stun, frost and mass attack. So what did I do? I adjusted tactics, ensured I was always part of the team and ended up getting more kills on them than they did on me.
Btw I was playing as reg, it should be noted he is very weak and vulnerable to mele. Again quite obvious, but thought I should add it just incase.
This game would suck immensley hard if teleports were uninterruptable or required less casting time. UB might need a fix, but then again, if he was just a better player than you, he got plenty of gold from killing you over and over plus experience, so he could've had way better gear and been several levels higher this entire time he was frustrating you.
Which, in that case, you need to improve your skills.
+1. teleportation scrolls work fine. no changes needed.
You could use the mouse and right click on the ground to move away from the Unclean Beast.
Have you tried that? Why would you just instantly teleport when you know he's just going to interrupt you? You let him walk right up to you when you teleport because it requires you to be stationary.
This is like....common sense.
