My new logon was rated a 5 star but yet its only visible as a 2 1/2 - 3 star............................
not only that but its not in the main gallery......i was told a while back that if a WALLPAPER wasnt good enough it was only posted on your profile...........................

this isnt a wall paper!!!! and it isnt nearly as ugly as that wallpaper that i made that was hideous enough that they had to explain why it was profile only...................
My conclusion is that is that someone has it in for me at wincustomize................Thats the only explaination I have for a logon vista to be sanctioned to my profile only
i believe that your concluslion is soley based upon one thing, you like your skin and can't see why the moderators don't. As in wallpapers or any skin submitted it has to pass what has been established as the acceptable standard.
I'm not a skinner so I don't have any idea what could be the problem. Did you receive an email with any kind of explanation?
The policy of WC count not only for the wallpapers but for all type of uploads...sometimes the rating don't reflect fully the work done...i can understand that you are angry but if all people open a thread for a rejected work is not correct

i know that my stuff isnt as good as the stuff that 500$ software can make... but its still stuff that alot of people still are learning in graphic design classes

The star system is confusing. Each star counts as 2 stars for a total of 10. Your logon is 5 stars out of 10, which shows as 2.5 out of 5 on the page.
One thing I don't understand is why is it not counting up downloads. It shows zero downloads and I know that's not right because I downloaded it and checked it out before I commented. Perhaps they don't count up while in your personal page gallery.
Also....don't give up. I know it's been said countless times but, skin for yourself and share what you like.
Or say it like this: Each half star is 1 point. 5 stars is thus 10 points. So a 5 point rating equals 2 1/2 stars
I think clean and overall usability score higher marks, so actually making something detailed and unique works against the star system.As for "ill just shutup.. thats what im supposed to do i guess" -- don't ever do that. You will learn nothing if you just shut up, and don't ask questions/voice your feelings. I think there is a huge difference in voicing disappointment and confusion, which will lead to enlightenment and growth, and the posts by some people which are simply a bitch-and-ditch post meant to insult those they are in disagreement with.
I agree withk 10w3. Never just shut up. Forums are about voicing opinions, tastes and what have you good or bad. 99.9 % of it is costructive criticism which is how I look at it. The very first wallpaper I made I did'nt think would do so well but actually went over very nicely. That was first time I ever uploaded to WC. I went on to do rainies and that got me hooked. They may not be the best but...there are those who pitched in and gave me the pointers and confidence to keep at it. I may not be doing anything at the moment but that'll change. Just do what you do to please your eye and if you want to share we are all the richer for it. Peace.
It is a 2 star logon at best. The sooner you accept that and stop blaming others for your faults the better off you will be.
Actually....in spite of the best efforts of members to get the moderators offside, there actually IS NO instance of 'somebody who decides things having it out for you'.
When works are rejected, etc the email that is forwarded to the uploader is CC'd to the other moderators [and myself and Island Dog] so there is full transparency. Running an eye over who is doing what to whom with regards to rejections, etc. is a simple matter and thus isn't ever an issue....
As someone mentioned previously....just skin for yourself. Sometimes others [including the mods] will regard the works highly....sometimes they will not. The same applies to everyone.
The option of having works go to your personal page is actually intended to reduce the number of outright rejections [as was the case prior to the feature being added] and applies to all the galleries, not 'just' the wallpapers...
ahh its cool!no biggie!!... just sitting back about to drink some brewskies when my wifee gets home...... so im chilled out about it... it just strikes me wierd..(the tastes of the moderators that is) it seems that thier taste for uploads changes from time to time.......Or maybe,,,, it is that you think you know what might be accepted, come to findout that your perception is not right.......leading to discuragement <<(i dont think i spelled it correctly)
Thanks k10w3 for your helpful insight and carguy as well for clearing the star system up for me.. i remember having this talk in another post at least a year ago........i just didnt get the concept because i thought they only said that wall papers (when not appealing to a mod's judgement) get place on you personal site for your own personal viewing......
@Night Train::::: Im not blaming the mods........ the only reason i made that silly remark is because a few weeks to a month ago, i posted an article about a new skin i had finished but needed help with it. It had like about 4-5 comments and I remember posting 1 other about a a day after that one that also had like 5+ comments and they both didnt even exist after the end of that week.......I then figured i was being picked on silently, because I heard from someone on here awhile back that mods can delete whole threads if they decide for themself that they do not like the topic.......just makes me wonder, "how'dit happin"

I have learned in my few years here, that if people like your work, you will acquire a sort of "fanbase" for lack of a better term. If they really like your work, they will know where your personal site is and therefore they will find your Personal Page Elite work. If they don't like your work enough to find you at your personal page, then do better work, so they will.
Also, as was said before, skin for you, if they like it, they will use it, if not, let them use someone else's or make their own.

Most of you know what I have dealt with recently , site problems, nick problems, you name it. I don't care if I get my download counts back or not. My reason for skinning is not for download counts. I skin what I like, the way I like, and as I said, if they like it, cool. If not, I still do. I shared, it's up to the community from there.
I have to agree. If you make a logon that is genuinly worth 5 stars, it'll probably get rated 5 stars.
Also, using all caps in your title is a bit annoying to be honest.
Jafo touched on the personel pages. Let me say this, before something can be sent to the personel page, 3 moderators must agree thats where it belongs. Its not up to any one mod.

True. As someone who has been skinning for the last ten years, I do know a little bit, and my opinion is that this logon is not worth more than 1½ stars.

oh for goodness sake...you're taking this far too personally.....for what it's worth, it does not appeal to me either.....but in the time you've taken here arguing the point that people are zeroing in on you personally....you could have made a dozen more....and probably have some of them in the gallery by now.
bottom line.....we've all had rejections....deal with it ....move on and make something else and give it a whirl...is the best advice.....and forget the persecution complex....
