Well, I want to hear your ideas and suggestions for the singleplayer part of Demigod. How should the gameplay be like or what about singleplayer maps? Ideas for new demigods are also welcome, here are some of mine:
-As you can see on the presently maps the graphics are very cool and it's nice to watch them, there should be more large sized maps with a breathtaking view on the landscape.
-A game rule to control your demigod in third - person perspective, like in Rise & Fall to really see what it is to fight against your opponents. I know that there are DotA players out there who don't like this and because of this, it would be a rule to extend the gaming experience.
-Maybe some elements of Rise of Legends because there are not many games out there, which had such a nice setting. Maybe some golems or dark glass - like guys.
-Something like a tower for singleplayer as headquarter, which you can upgrade with design elements and where you can walk in to see your achievements, like relics and weapons...
-Boss opponents. For example you are going to fight another demigod you have to walk through his or her area and have to find his headquarer or arena. Maybe at the end of the campaign you have to fight a real god...
-More attack animations for the different demigods...
-Some more demigods (well, there are several threads out there ), here are some ideas:
--Nivan, the Fallen Angel
Once Nivan was general of the celestial honor guard of the All-Father and keeper of the celestial gate. He was known for being interested in the matters of the demon world, where the Fallen Ones live. His bright apperance and courage was more or less respected by the humans and by his opponents.
One day he gets the mission to find an ancient demon artifact deep in the demon world. He was sucessful as usual and brought the artifact to a safe place in the celestial pantheon.
As Nivan gets back from his mission, he decided to explore the immanent world to learn more about the mortal creatures and the influence of evil out in the world. He was very consequent in his decisions and explored the immanent and the demon world to search for answers. After a while he noticed an alteration on his angel wings, they got more dark as usual and so he went back to the celestial pantheon to study the demon artifact on it's influence. The All-Father forbid Nivan to examine the artifact, because it's influence would be to dangerous on Nivan and he also gets influenced by the artifact as seen by his wings. It was the first time ever that the All-Father forbid him something and after a while he get's very suspicious. Nivan's interest in the artifact grows immensely and he wants to get the artifact even if he was not allowed to. Soon the All-Father noticed that something is wrong and wants to get the artifact back, but Nivan wanted to use it for himself. The All-Father decided to ban him from the celestial pantheon and Nivan falls down from the sky to an unknown place. As he awokes his armour was black and his wings were completely dark. The other gods watched the situation and they got more and more suspicious about the All-Father and his minions.
Nivan became an exiled dark angel, whose new goals are yet unknown...
--Omri, the Evil Bringer
It was a dark time for the lands of Behelmgor as an unknown disease strikes through the entire kingdom and kills even innocent women and children.
One day the disease arrives the misty bogs of the little village Selkado and killed most of the inhabitants. Nobody had an remedy against it and so the people vanished out of the village, some fled but most of them died. One of them was Omri, a young man who was interested in finding a medicinal herb in the bog. One day he finds a flower, which he didn't seen before at this time. He decided to make some experiments with this yet unknown flower to maybe get a remedy one day.
Unfortunately the disease gets him first and he seemed to be dead as his parents threw the coffin into the swamps. After weeks the disease seemed to be vanished and the survivors began to live their old life.
But one fateful day a dark caped silhoutte with a scythe arrived at the village and takes the lifes of all the inhabitants. It was Omri, re-awkened as incarnation of death. He now was a dark being, with decaying clothes which now swings his scythe and takes the souls of all living creatures...
--Phobos, the Cosmic Horror
It was a starry night in which the inhabitants of the little village Karsos celebrated their every year festival. The people were happy and they forgot their all-day sorrows for this night. They looked into the clear sky as they noticed something strange. It was like a star getting brighter and brighter. After a while the star became a fireball and the watching people get in panic. The fireball became greater and flews over the village into a near forest. The impact resulted in an explosion.
The next day the inhabitants wanted to look after the impact crater and they managed themselves into little groups. After a few unsucessfull trips they found a large craterside with a rock lump in it - it was a comet.
The people became excited and few of them want to find more in the forest. The majority of the inhabitants was sure that they found something, bcause they couldn't find them anymore... Someone or something was near the forests out there and since that more and more people vanished. Because of this, the unknown being is called the cosmic horror.
At last some ideas for new maps:
-a mysterious and misty bog
-a haunted and dark forest
-an ice cavern
-underwater area
-a crazy desert region with illusions, which make you're getting insane
-a map above the galactic disk or something in the galactic void
Khamos, the Forgotten God
Khamos once was an ancient god of the celestial pantheon with his own armoured celestial guards. He was a mystical but also fearsome appearance and was respected by the other gods. Sometimes he appeared in the immanent world to watch for his minions in the desert. For them Khamos was like a patron saint and he helped them for eons through many wars and catastrophes. Their cities expanded and they built many monuments for Khamos. After eons and eons of wars Khamos ancient armour gets more and more rusty. One day he decided to learn more about the other inhabitants of the desert and left his immanent minions. After decades and later centuries the mighty monuments of Khamos were ruined and he disappeared. Even the other gods in the celestial pantheon didn't know where he had gone. Khamos decided to get exiled from the other gods and his minions in an unknown region deep in the desert, where the heat caused crazy illusions for mortal creatures. The skulls from gigantic creatures offer good hiding places and many canyons were spread over the whole area. At last he found a hidden cave in this life-threatening crazy desert for him and his guardians. Since this day nobody remembered him and even the ancient scriptures didn't mention him anymore. But a forgotten god isn't a dead one...
Rhan, the Unpredictable Lightning
A heavy storm came across the little town Pravin. Lightnings soon destroyed some houses of the surprised inhabitants. It was the most heavy thunderstorm in the history of the little town and all people searched for protection. There was no hero who could save them from what would happen to them. A very bright and heavy lightning came across the little town and resulted in an equally bright light as it hits the ground. After a while the thunderstorm decreases but it was still there. After weeks and weeks the inhabitants get used to the thunderstorm and didn't pay attention to it anymore. There was something wrong with that mysterious storm, many of them thought. Well, they were right... It was near a little puddle as a group of young man noticed him. It was a strange creature charged with energy. Lightnings... After this encountering nobody ever had contact to the little distant town Pravin. From this day on the strange creature was known as the Unpredictable Lightning.
LOVE IT!
All those maps...can't w8 for editors to come out and we'll be spitting them out like crazy +_+
Yo're elemental idea is AWESOME! I would soooo love it!
How about a Dragon? to make it all mystic?
PS: in overal I tend to love EVERYTHING
I doubt they'll make new maps just for sp.. They couldchange the buildings on them though.
But making a whole new SP campaign that's more action RPg like diablo could be sucessful as a micro-expansion.
$20 for a SP expansion and use that money to develope free MP addons. =]
Yeah, I hope the game will be moddable that you can integrate larger maps, because I think there are many classic strategy gamers who want to build a base and all this stuff and the game wants to cover preferences of strategy-, action-, and roleplaying- gamers and so there could be rules, so that DotA players don't have to activate them...
At last I want to add the appearance and abilities of the demigods above:
Nivan: An dark armoured six winged angel (-> fallen Seraph). He should have mighty abilities in the last levels to attack more and more opponents, but at first he would only being strong against other demigods.
Omri: Similar to the Grim Reaper, maybe more mystical and without the typical skull. Czin (from Rise of Legends) is a maybe good example. He could have a special scythe to attack his opponents and he uses dark magical spells.
Phobos: Well, never thought of his appearance, maybe something exotic but not too exotic...
Khamos: An old warrior with rusty but mystical armour and some rags over his armour... Abilities would be more to defense himself or to take the opponent crazy, but he also should have one or two very strong offensive abilities.
Rhan: Something similar to Blitz in Devil May Cry 4, but maybe not so much demon-like. The armour looks very nice. Here is a video of Blitz, so that you know what I mean (the only one i've found to see him in the cutscene): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es95J7Cc6xA
Abilities would be, that he's very fast and dangerous, but not so much armoured...
