No, I don't think Sedna is overpowered, except for this one case. It was a 3v3 Pantheon game with the flag holding objective. All 3 opponents were Sedna, and there was basically no way to force them from their position. Talk about agonizing .
That's just synergy. There's not really anything to be done to 'fix' that situation that wouldn't just screw up every other situation.
not really sure how youd counter that tbh
maybe with...THREE OTHER SEDNAS
BORE THEM TO DEATH!!!
Can only be healed once every 15-20 seconds? Fixed
play as spy and backstab them - those pesky medics will go down
I didn't have the chance to play the game yet, but there must be something wrong with the least played character on the pantheon, that applies also to the queen of thorns which is very close to sedna.
Just my 2 cents
Get the 3 on your side to use all your nukes on one Sedna at once = 1 Dead Sedna = 3v2. Their heal synchronisation would have to be amazing to withstand all 3 heroes going for one Sedna.
Plenty to do: put mines there; put flag locks on your flags; +Movement Items; take over HER flags (then flaglock).
Actually I think its more to do with the playstyles of those characters. Sedna is clearly support/healer and many players like to be more in the fray/more aggressive. Ive played with Sedna and I think shes very powerful. I havent played QoT yet but her healing is indirect i.e. wards and is also support so the same would apply. Both characters when played well are just as important as any other DG. But in popularity someone has to end up at the bottom right? Sedna btw also isn't quite as interesting in terms of character/personality as the others too (squeaky good healer on a white tiger - not quite as appealing as a moving castle, a vampire lord or an angel with a crossbow perhaps).
Not at all. It just takes the Sedna being attacked to not be an idiot and heal herself. That's enough to survive short term, then the others heal. I should clarify that the map was Cataract. By forming a group of 3, you ensure that you can only ever hold one of the three middle flags at the time. If the enemy sees you coming, they simply move off and take the flag you previously held. We could only hold one flag at most.
i would think sedna and QoT are less played on pantheon, because it's a gamble picking a support DG for a PUB group. you might end up backing other support DG or badly played assassions.
anyway, i think since you can stack heroes in DG, you're going to see some annoying and devastating comps
You know, they invented this little thing called "crowd control" in games. It refers to abilities that demobilize, debilitate, slow, confuse, and shackle other players for a certain period of time. If you are playing against a Sedna, you have but 1 chance to kill it: Disrupt it when it tries to heal. It's not hard to guess when a Sedna will heal, once they drop below half you should already be reaching for that stun skill. If no one on your team deigned to grab a stun skill, you deserve to lose. If you face multiple Sednas, your only chance is to control several of them at once. Again, if you decided not to go control-heavy when you saw 3 Sednas in the game lobby, you desverve to lose.
Agreed. It is rough being a Sedna Pantheon player. The worst is getting stuck with AI. Hard to be a support player when your teammates are dumb as toasters.
This is one of the biggest fails I've ever read.
1) The cast time on heal is faster than several of the stuns.2) Even if it weren't, the 250 ms forced latency dramatically reduces your window of response.3) Even if you could respond fast enough, there isn't a casting animation, so you can't tell when the heal is happening in the first place.
Again, this isn't a general imbalance. In other game modes, various other factors come into play to balance things out. It's only in the capture the flag mode where it becomes a problem.
It's not what Demigod you play, it's how you play it. ;/
I'm sure 3 simutanious hammerslams hurts too.
And yes, it's basically impossible to interupt skills less than 1.0sec cast. There is the cast time of your interupt/stun, plus the 0.350 delay. You only have .15sec to stun a 0.5 skill.
LOL at 3 Hammerslams. No idea how an army would survive that.
Healing keeps catlady alive, but that's about all it does. No Aoe; weak general attacks; healing is about all you have. If her heailing was easily interupted, she would be an empty kleenex box to stomp on. You may not be able to catch/kill her, but that just means more flags for you (it takes forever just for her to kill minions even).
One of the counters new players should try to come away with is that if DGs clump together, that means there's lots of flags out there unguarded for the taking. If you can't take on a DG, or group of DGs (due to low level and/or low skill), then kill enemy mobs; steal flags. Want to see a clump of bullying DGs break up? Steal just ONE flag in their back lines; add a flaglock with some allies with teleport scrolls, and just watch the enemy DG clump start bumbling around like the 3 stooges tring to suddenly decide what to do. . .
There is a stunning lack of reading comprehension in this thread, so I'll say this once more as clearly as I can: I do not believe Sedna is overpowered. It is only in the flag holding mode that it becomes a problem. You cannot push 2 or 3 Sednas from their position without losing the neutral flag you already own. By rotating around, the Sedna team can hold 2/3 of the neutral flags and win a war of attrition.
Maybe I do have reading comprehension problems...why don't the 3 of you split and attack both of the other flags while the 3rd stays near the flag the sedna's are at? If the 3 sedna's stay in a single group they can only control one flag at a time while you can control the other 2. If they split apart, then you don't have this problem. If you tried this and it did not work, please explain what the sedna team did to be in 2 places at once.
Three Torch bearers, three Unclean, three of anything with a stun and a large damaging nuke.
Because if you split, then you don't have enough burst damage to take down any of them, even 1v1.
What? really?
You know, they still take the same damage from your attacks when spit is doing damage, than if you didn't spit them, right? Spit only adds damage.
Well...
Even though Sedna can just cleanse it, your Torchbearers still can use Polymorph as an interupt. And if they can't time their Counterspells, then they should consider speccing for Improved CS.
DUH!
Jesus christ. Enough with the theorycraft.
But in my hypothetical situation I kill all three sedna's by myself with UB cause they all stand in place just healing. D:
IIRC I lost one flag control scenario when our opponents destroyed our citadel. They would have won by flag control but managed to beat down the citadel first. So if they are camping flags you could go after their citadel and steal the win from under their noses.
