Miss California didn't know she was about to step into a hornets' nest with her answer to a question posed to her by celebrity judge Perez Hilton at last night's Miss America Contest. Did you hear her answer and see her beautiful face as she gave it? Did you hear his question and feel the confrontational attitude coming from him when he gave it? It was almost like he knew her background and was daring her to answer this question honestly and if so, to her detriment. It looks like he made sure she paid for this "wrong" answer.
I loved the applause she got from the audience after her answer believing that most feel the same way as she. That is, marriage should be between a man and a woman as we have all been brought up to believe.
You just knew that Hilton was very angry receiving the answer that he did not wish to hear. She did not back down believing that every state should have the opportunity to vote one way or the other and then giving her own opinion on the matter.
I think she hit on something important. It should be left up to the people to vote and not the state representatives who are bowing to the pressure put to them by a militant few like this Hilton character.
Showing his true colors, Perez Hilton today went on his blog site blasting out Miss California, hate and venom dripping from his lips, as he called her derogatory names. All because she gave her opinion that did not match his own and standing up for her belief that she was raised with.
Miss California stated her opinion to the question posed to her and since it wasn't politically correct lost her bid to become the new Miss America. Basically her answer cost her. This is truly representative as to what is going on all across the country to those who dare speak out against these new laws allowing homosexual marriages and the baggage that comes with it. You disagree and you will pay the price.
I'd like to say to Miss California that she did good. She is refreshingly honest as well as amazingly beautiful inside and out and her not bowing to the social pressure of our day just to get along speaks volumes about her character. Kudos! She may have lost this imperishible crown but I'm just betting she's going to get another that will glitter more brightly in the age to come.
Check the link below to see how Hilton really exposed his true self. I thought judges were supposed to be impartial? Some judge.

well, there ya go with that thinking stuff again.
but you do know me well enough or have read enough of my articles on this site as well as elsewhere to categorize me as a member of a broad group you consistently disparage?
for quite some time i've refrained from stereotyping as clueless, hypocrites and/or heretics those among us who proclaim themselves conservatives while supporting sublimation of the legislative and judicial branches to an overarching executive, massive infringement of various individual rights in the name of "security", "morality" and "law & order", conspiring with dominionists to make of our secular republic a theocrasy, enthusiastically advocating preemptive military action overseas as well as employing america's military overseas to establish and defend commercial spheres of influence and endangering our economy and wellbeing by intentionally engaging in what's known as "feeding the beast".
call me whatever you want, but only after you ask yourself with which of our positions would a bob taft (huh?) or barry goldwater more likely agree?
You categorize yourself fine without anyones help, do you really believe it's me doing it?
Had you stereotyped Hilton in the same manner as the beauty queen (sure you called him a douche, but not quite the same) I wouldn't have said a thing, rant on. I just find it interesting that as long as they swing from the political left, they are spared the obvious characterizations, that appears to be reserved for the opposing team. Feel free to judge, Hilton did. I personally like folks that give an honest opinion when asked, not the PC response, whether they are born again or queer.
see, there's the problem. hilton doesn't represent the left anymore than whatshername represents the right.
no true conservative wants government involved in such essentially private and personal matters as marriage. furthermore, for honest-to-for-real conservatives, there can be no such thing as "social" conservativism.
Conservative socialism, on the other hand, is just dandy.
Well I'd have to disagree in part, here's why: While I'm sure there are some gay conservatives out there, I have yet to see a Gay Rights group that didn't support the Obama ticket. Hilton is an outspoken supporter for gay rights, so his agenda is more in line with the left, so in an indirect way he does represent the left, in fact a large part of its core base.
As for Miss California, I am in agreement with you, she does not represent the right. Her answer was nearly identical as Obama's on the same topic. For further clarification an example: Most blacks in California voted for Obama, yet 70% voted no to prop 8. additionally the black population has a very high percentage of religious folks among their ranks? Do they, as a group, represent the right? Hardly. Since I don't know anymore about her political views than where she stands on this one issue, I'd have to say she shares the same views as the majority of her fellow Californians, who overwhelmingly supported Obama, perhaps the nations most leftist president in history. She might bleed GOP for all we know, but unless more details come to light, for her it's inconclusive. No argument that the left wing media tries to portrays her as a surrogate of the right to pacify their gay core supporters, and some conservative would probably love to have her represent the right.
