I know there are probably better ones out, but for me this has worked well so far. It gives me early game protection and sniping. At level 2 I have angelic fury on almost all the time. Favor is borked for me since I am usually negative. I buy consumables as needed.

Hey StormCrow,
At a quick look the build looks good. All you need to work on is your formatting. Some sort of progression would be nice. Its great to list the items, but try and group them into catagories. What to get at first, what to get (and hence how much gold to have) for your first trip back to town. Lastly, its always great to describe some of your most succesful uses. If you find that at X level with X items you can really harass the crap out of X demigod, you should let people know so you can take advantage of it.
Aside from that, good show,
Cheers
Nod I will work on that. The order that I have them listed, is the order I buy them in. I will try and get it better looking.
Its silly I know, but the better laid out it is, the better people will feel your guide is.
Also, can you explain why you get so many activatable mana intensive abilities instead of using some points on the passive buff (bottom skill on tree, generals have moral, assassins have.......?)
Also, be sure to put up your main "kill combo". Ability 1-> Ability 2-> Dance the Maquerehna-> Ability 3. Something to that effect. The more elaborate your explanation the better!
Ok I updated with some better formatting and info. I will work more on strats and kill combos later.. too busy playing atm, heh.
Sounds pretty good man. A couple questions though. Why not take the tracking skill? Also what is your general play strategy? Do you pretty much substitute Mark of the Betrayer's slow for Maim's slow for most of the match?
I agree with chaosbrynn, a little more explanation as to why/how you play they way you do will go a long way in filling out your build.
Yah I use mark of betrayer and mines to do the slow for me. I'll throw the mark on the target then drop mines right behind. Then I just shoot them till dead, or till I need to snipe. Once I get the ashkandor, I don't usually die unless 3 on 1.
Still didnt save you in the fortress game
Close call but in the end, though we couldnt kill you, I went behind and blasted your final fortress +_+!
GG btw.
But I imagine that in Slaughter you must OWN
Assuming 3vs1 equal lvl/gear. If 3vs1 cant kill you then there is something seriously wrong with Regulus.
Does going heavy Snipe and Sniper Scope actually work that well for you early in the game? I find that Regulus is so famously weak early in the game that I dont Snipe especially until maybe level 5 or so. Its really only useful in my (limited) experience if my opponents are openly incompetent that early on (which to be honest might not be a had assumption right now since there are a lot of really bad players out there, but I dont like to rely on my opponent being horrible).
I prefer to go AF heavy early on and just farm a few levels. I used to buy the same starting equipment, but I find that I really like buying Gauntlets of Brutality instead of the helm early (I get the same armor). Since I'm not using Snipe, I can get away with low mana and the added damage is a big help. I get the Mana headware after that, which usually coincides nicely with when I'm actually read to start hunting other Demigods with Snipe.
Also, am I the only one who likes Enhanced Attributes? It seems like Regulus users dont like them, but I've always pumped them too. Is there something I'm missing?
Two glaring weaknesses I see in this build:
1) Lack of retreat options: No + movement speed items and no real mines until 13 or so means somebody else is definately doing the tanking in this build, and if you get bum rushed by a melee DG about level 10 or so in this build, you're in serious trouble. Mark slows, but if you get jumped by 2 or 3 DGs the ability to get the heck out of there is priceless. He who fights and runs away lives to continue to collect gold and earn Kill Streak at the end of the match.
2) Such a Snipe-heavy build with no Tracking Device? Come on. You're crippling Snipe's true power if you can't see the target to hit it, especially early on when getting Snipe kills from across the board is effective. If you're playing in no FoW custom games you don't need it of course...but where's the fun in that?
Couple changes, dump Maim I at 20, insert Tracking Device at 6 or 7 or so. Consider Journeyman's Boots instead of assassin's footguards. Likewise, once they fix negative honor, Swift Anklet would be a perfect favor item for this build.
Otherwise, very solid offensive Snipe build and a good selection of items.
@Shadow, that was a crazy game, heh.
Snipe is wonderful. As long as you start it, people can actually recall back to base and it will still hit them (I get a lot of kills that way.. they recall then bam before they can get healed). While I am on my side, I always keep an eye out on the other sides. If someone is low and getting away, I trigger it.. though I try my best not to KS from players (from npc's its great). I can usually get 4-5 kills by level 7 (more if it is npc heavy.. they are really easy to snipe kill).
Also, 6 mines stacked in a line near the Atrifact flag, and being in range of a snipe usually is an instant kill.
this fails imo due to lack of mines. they should be takenearly. best damage in game. 1200 a toss at lvl 7 then 2400 if you have em down
@weeble
I have been taking the movemnt speed favor (since I am almost always negative), and that works pretty well for me. I usually don't have a problem getting jumped unless it is a UB/Erebus combo with stun after stun. Especially once I get the Heart, I just pop it after getting slightly out of range and it takes me to full in a few seconds. I don't bother with tracking device. I tried it a bunch but I didn't feel that I wanted it. I will try your suggestions and see how it goes, thanks for the input.
As far as the games I play, I only play pantheon.
@woca
I have seen people do mine heavy builds, and if that works for you, great! For myself, I like to take them later and concentrate on snipe and angelic fury for the early levels.
I usually play regulus or UB and I find snipe is worthless. It's just not good damage wise and is only good in certain situations. The mark of the betrayer is godly though, save the points for that and upgrade your mines early. But snipe is just not worth the experience early on.
i dont like snipe early, it can get kills, but i think mines are way to go. i usually get speed stuff so i don't need snipe often
True. There are definately other ways to go. I just find joy in the surprise snipe when they think they made it, lol.
One of the good things about early snipe, is lots of early kills (at least for me). This allows me to item up pretty fast
Anytime you want a rematch send me a pm and I'll gladly take you on either as friend or foe!
Fairly good, one thing i would change though, mines level one is pointless unless you spam it loads in one place, i genrally don't bother getting mines one unless i'm going to get mines 2 straight after
I've just played against a Heavy mine Regulus, i used this guide (snipe/angelic), both are good.
Thnks
