Hi there,
well, i dont think that there is a single person out that doesnt know about starcraft 2
Well, if you ask me....i would buy ANYTHING from Blizzard, even if its "Ponyfarm Deluxe". So, here we go again, Starcraft 2 is comming out 2009, the sequel to the most played Real Time Strategygame in the world. I just watched both Battlereports (2 matches, each over 20 minutes long) and all i can say is: WOW!
It seems that just everything is simply amazing, the units...the design, even the physic engine! The units are realy different, so are the 3 factions. I just dont find any words to say how amazing this is going to be
I will be one of the crazy guys that will join the midnight sale of Starcraft 2. I think it will sell 10 Million copys in under a week
Same as with Diablo 3, but this is another story
Im glad that Demigod is something different, because any normal RTS is like a joke compared to Starcraft
That Battle report looks awesome.
I am feeling very negative about it. I'm a real macro-bot and it looks like that part of the game is getting dumbed down and cut out in favour of a more micro orientated wc3 style. The idea of automining and command grouped production queueing is mortifying and it will lower the skill ceiling drastically.
They're trying to compromise by making the game easy for noobs while still satisfying the koreans and I don't think they have what it takes to pull it off. For instance the cartoony art direction and over the top special effects they're putting in will make it too hard to follow for outsiders and will most likely prevent it from taking off as an esport like the first game did.
Not concerns for casual players but things aren't looking good for the super nerds.
I couldn't care less about Starcraft or Warcraft for that matter. Extreme macro and micro, no strategy. Lame. Demigod, Sins, and Supcom are more my cup of tea.
I find it hard to really generalize anything in the game at the moment considering how vastly different blizzard games come out from alpha to release.
- what kind of strategy community prefers to play on 'fastest' setting ? - what kind of strategy community argues in favour of worse interface ? Multiple-building select, autocast of no-brainer abilities like repair and healing. They argue that worse interface allows 'skilled' players to shine by clicking faster. - what kind of strategy community measures performance in clicks per minute ?

Clearly you have no idea just how large Starcraft is in competitive gaming. It is the #1 RTS game played on a competitive level. Nothing else compares, and SC2 will not be anywhere close to as good as Brood War.
